A short but heartfelt thanks to the people who made the Coffee Hour happen for my 50th Anniversary of Ordination. Also to all who remembered me with cards, gifts, and good wishes. May the Lord who has been so good to us all of these years continue to love and hold us in His care and keeping. Pastor Nelson
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF Teach a person to sew and youve given them tools they can use to earn an income, support their family, and break out of poverty. Many of the thousands of Fabric Kits Lutheran World Relief distributes are used in vocational training programs to teach young men and women useful and marketable sewing skills. Include the following items in each Fabric Kit: Two pieces of cotton or cotton-blend fabric (no knits or 100% polyester). Each piece should measure 2 yds of 60 fabric OR 3 yds of 44 fabric OR 4 yds of 36 fabric. Two spools of neutral-colored, general purpose thread, 250-300 yards each Fabric should have no stains or holes. Pieces do not need to match in size or color/pattern. Fold thread and one piece of fabric inside second fabric piece and tie with yarn, sturdy string, ribbon or a strip of fabric. Please do not donate items with any religious symbols, messages or your congregations name. Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including camouflage. Do not enclose the kit or any of its contents in plastic bags. Look for the aluminum washtub in the west hall for collection of the kits. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
