Islam

is based on five (pillars), mentioning


fasting the month of Ramadan the Prophet
PBUH said.
It is a clear Divine command as mentioned in
Quran Al-Baqarah (2).
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is
fasting as it was decreed uon those before you
(Verse 2:183)

The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the


Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proof of
guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon
of] the month, let him fast it (Verse 2: 185)

It is eventually to help us be a practicing

Fasting

purifies our souls as it blocks the


Shaitan that circulates in ones body just like
the circulation of blood because:
Fasting abstain from eating and drinking
our soul becomes strong enough wills
strengthen No submission to desires
Strong at worship
IN SHA ALLAH!!!

Once

a Muslim gets strong worship


renunciation (rejection) of the pleasures of
the world Muslims attention will be to
the Hereafter.
IN SHA ALLAH!!!

Abstaining

from the foods Muslim can


realize the hardship of the hunger and thirst
sympathizes with the poor and needy
helps the to be generous in giving to the
poor.
IN SHA ALLAH!!!

So

now, have relations with them [ i.e.,


your wives] and seek that which Allah has
decreed for you [i.e., offspring]. And eat and
drink until the white thread of dawn
becomes distinct to you from the black
thread [of night]. Then complete the fast
until the night [i.e., sunset] (Quran Al
Baqara:187)

1. Seeing the new moon of the month


..So whoever sights [the new moon] of the month,
let him fast it.. (Quran Al Baqarah:185)

2. The information about the appearance of


the new moon by a just, trustworthy leagally
accountable person in community.
3. When the new moon is invisible, the
completion of the thirty days of Shaban .
And if the sky is overcast (and you cannot see the
new moon), complete Shaban as thirty days. (Al
Bukhari (1909) [4/154] and Muslim (2516) [4/193]).

Every legally accountable Muslim resident and


travelers, healthy and ill people ritually pure or
impure, and Muslim in state of
unconsciousness.It has to done at due time or
later in case of legal excuses.
ON DUE TIME: Healthy and residents Muslims
LATER TIME:
1. Muslim healthy resident women during their
menstruation and postnatal bleeding.
2. Muslim residents too ill to fast at due time
CHOSE ON TIME OR LATER:
1. Travelers 2. Ill Muslims who can but with
difficulty BUT WITHOUT CAUSING THEM HARM.

A disbeliever fasts after repenting and


converting to Islam, he should fast for the
Ramadan and not make up for the fasts he
missed before being a Muslim.
A Muslim child gets to puberty. Before puberty is
allowed if physically fit for building up spiritual
fitness.
An insane Muslim regains sanity.
Traveler returns back home
A menstruating woman or a woman in postnatal
bleeding becomes ritually pure
One is just informed after day break that the
month of Ramadan has begin.
