Our strategy in the installation of solar water heaters is multi-dimensional. We use the Eskom project to
partially solve the triple challenge of unemployment, poverty and inequality. We also improve the human
development index of the communities we service. We help households to be energy efficient. We
provide engineering skills training, employment opportunities, and small business development thus
helping to create social stability.

Program
Community Development
Our business is the installation of high pressure solar geysers,
our business model is designed to participate intensively in
the local economic development. We use this programme of
solar water heaters as a stimulus to achieve our goal of
community development. Our model is discussed and briefly
summarized in this document. JJK Analytics is passionate
about community development programmes.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
We provide engineering training in Plumbing and Welding.
The reason is that solar geysers are required to be installed
by qualified people in plumbing and especially in solar water
heaters. The welding training is aimed at individuals who will
be fabricating steel frames that support the geyser on the
roof.

Our training for solar water heaters enhance learners understanding of how to do
the installation optimally, i.e how to do the installation to get maximum effects and
also trouble shooting. It covers the preparation of surrounding roof and added
support to take the load. This programme is directed at people who have a
background in plumbing or even plumbing qualification or who have undergone the
CBMT training or grade 9 certificate. This is a stand-alone qualification a Certificate
of the Unit Standard, NQF level 2 and 4 Install and maintain Solar Water Heating
Systems, will be issued at the completion of the requirements. The duration is one
week workshop training, thereafter, the incumbent will be required to do at least 10
installations under monitoring by the trainer in conjunction with our company.
The training course content covers the following topics:
i. Understanding Solar Energy as source of heat.
ii. Understanding water with reference to solar water heater.
iii. Tools and components.
iv. Understanding solar collectors.
v. Different types of solar systems.
vi. Roof structure.
vii. Preparing for installation.
viii. Installing system components.
ix. Maintaining solar water heating components, pipes and fittings.
Candidates will immediately be employed after their training and gain experience.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
We provide employment opportunities for the plumbing artisans, our trained
plumbers, general labourers, administration support staff and drivers. Our business
creates high demand for skilled and unskilled labour.
Each installing team works with one installer and two assistants. Depending on the
number of households in the area, per 10 000 houses we train and employ 100
plumbers and 200 assistants. This is a total of 300 people locally within the area of
operation. This means we increase employment rate by 3% in every 10 000
households. On the general labour we design a roster system that will enable the
maximum employment of local labour.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Our business will stimulate the growth and establishment of new businesses. Some
of the plumbing consumables and other sundry items will be sourced locally.
The welders whom we have trained combined with the experienced ones establish
new welding workshops where they will be manufacturing the geyser steel frames.
Hence this promotes development of small scale home based industries.
Those who had undergone our plumbing training and received work experience will
become maintenance contractors in their respective areas and anywhere else.

PURCHASING POWER INCREASE
The buying power of the local communities that will work with us will increase due
to income received as our employees. Local businesses will realize an increase in
their sales that may stimulate expansion and employ many people. There will be an
increase in the level of household spending that in general will lead to increased
local economic output. This may further attract new businesses into the area.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE
We all know that poverty may cause hostility in communities. Our programme will
solve the socio-economic problems facing our country:
a) Inequality:- we are aiming of increasing the participation of black women and
youth to become plumbers and welders through our programme.
b) Poverty:- income that shall be paid to our workers will be out of poverty as
they will be able to buy themselves food.
c) Unemployment:- we provide employment opportunities to local people at
least 300 people per 10 000 households directly employed by our company.
We are also part of the solution in increasing the HDI human development index:
i. Education:- we offer FET qualification to local people.
ii. Employment:- we create job opportunities.
iii. Health:- when people are employed they are able to consume nutritional
food and live healthy.

SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS
We install high pressure solar water geysers, we use different sizes ranging from 110
up to 300 litres. We work with various manufacturers who supply us with their
systems.
We are using two types of products:
i. A geyser with cylinder for water storage and tubes which is a solar collectors.
ii. Solo geyser is a plasma geyser with a rectangular water tank with a big
screen which is a solar collector. The advantage about solo geyser is that it
does not really require a water reticulation system, it can be filled manually.
It is suitable for rural areas so that people can drink healthy boiled water free
from harmful gems.

CONCLUSION
Our program contributes towards community social stability and prosperity. Our
contribution make people have more hope on our government of our beautiful
country.
