Job Title 1: GAS PIPELINE METERING AND MEASUREMENT TECHNICIAN (4 Posts)

1.0. JOB SUMMARY
Gas Metering and Measurement Technicians are responsible for:
The management of all Plant and Pipeline Telemetry and Non-Telemetry
measurement data processes
Establishing and Maintaining Measurement Standards at all fiscalisation points
Ensuring accurate measurements of natural gas received, processed and sold
1.1. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage telemetry and non-telemetry measurement data processes and analyze
measurement data
Ensure harmonization of Metering System Equipment and Testing Standards
between the Seller and Buyer of Natural Gas at all fiscalisation points
Participate in the Set-up and maintenance of metering facilities in Plant and
Pipeline systems including develop and implement rigorous Inspection and
Testing/Calibration Procedures
Ensure the measured quantities and allocated volumes are accurate and comply
with the established standards
Coordinate with the Supervisors to identify and resolve technical and non-
technical issues related to the planning, construction, modification, and operation
of distribution, transmission, and related facilities, systems and services.
1.2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
FTC in Instrumentation/Mechanical/Electronics/Gas Engineering or related
field
A minimum of 3 years experience in natural gas pipelines operations and natural
gas measurements
Experience in the operation and maintenance of Gas Chromatographs for natural
gas fiscalization measurements would be an asset
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project Management,
and experienced in the use of Metering and Measurement Software
Must have SCADA based control systems experience Must have expert knowledge
of Natural Gas Measurement Standards, Pipeline codes and Industry standards
Ability to learn, interpret and apply, ISO, API, ANSI / ASME and other appropriate
codes for natural gas industry
Demonstrable PC/software skills,

Job Title 2: GAS PIPELINE CATHODIC PROTECTION ENGINEER (2 Posts)
Location: Kinyerezi, Dar es Salaam
Reports To: PIPELINE MANAGER
2.0. JOB SUMMARY
The Cathodic Engineer is responsible for:
Maintaining the Cathodic Protection (CP) System for the Plant and Pipelines offshore
and onshore at design Potential to ensure proper protection of the gas transmission
systems and distribution systems from external, internal and atmospheric corrosion
2.1 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and update the Cathodic Protection system for offshore and onshore
pipeline
Develop and implement Condition-Based CP Field Inspection and Testing Program
using PC systems ; utilize computer for data entry and tracking of the monitoring
schedule
Ensure routine readings of each rectifier are taken as per established Inspection
Schedule and used to develop a computerized CP database
Ensure potential readings are analysed to identify trends, changes etc and implement
corrective action is taken to restore CP integrity
Develop and implement continuous CP System improvement Program; Make
recommendations for the system improvement
Trouble shoots CP Problems and makes required adjustments or initiates required
maintenance activity to ensure continuous protection of Plant and Pipeline
Prepare and forward report to engineering department regarding potentially
inadequately protection of the pipelines; indicate recommendations to restore full CP
requirement as per Plant/Pipeline Operating Standards
Available for occasional overtime, especially during pipeline facilities
inspections/overhauls
2.2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc. in Cathodic Protection Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering or related
field
Minimum of 3 years experience maintaining Cathodic Protection Systems on natural
gas Pipelines or Petrochemical Plant operations
Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering design for the Oil and Gas industry
(natural gas stations and process facility design)

Job Title 3: GAS PIPELINE CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR II (8 Posts)

Reports To: PIPELINE SHIFT SUPERVISOR
3.0 JOB SUMMARY
The Pipeline Control Room Operatoris responsible for:
Monitor Plant and Pipeline performance
Make adjustments to the Plant and Pipeline Process Control parameters to ensure
achievement of all Operating Targets
Instruct Plant and Pipeline Field Operators to make Field adjustments to equipment
as required
Responsible for the safe operation of all Plant and Pipeline Equipment/Systems s
Execute applicable elements of Facility HSSE Program to ensure Employee and
Facility Safety
3.1. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Control and regulate the flow of gas in the pipeline at a control center
Continuously observe/ monitor/ manage pipelines and equipment operations and
ensure they are operated safely and efficiently
Ensure flow parameters (volume, pressure, temperature) are continuously
maintained at the required level
Ensure timely delivery of contractual gas volumes to the customers; respond quickly
to changes in the pipeline pressure to identify reasons and initiate the required
corrective actions
Take appropriate operating measures during emergency situations to maintain the
safety of all Plant/Pipeline personnel and integrity of Plant/Pipeline equipment;
dispatch crews as required
Monitor operating parameters of level, pressure, flow rate, temperature and ensure
Plant/Pipeline are operating within operational envelope; establish operating Trend
Groups for efficient Process Control
Produce daily operations report, highlighting equipment and process faults compiled
from Operators log. Assist the team leader in preparation of monthly plant
performance and Equipment run-hours, including availability statistics
Interface with personal and control computers in order to operate plant equipment,
prepare reports, send and receive e-mail, identify and implement safety procedures,
and monitor continuous improvements

Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of three (3) years Plant Operator Experience in a Manufacturing or Process
Operations environment
Demonstrable PC/software skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office

in natural gas compression and separation processes; hands-on experience in

Job Title 4: GAS PIPELINE SHIFT SUPERVISOR (4 POSTS)
Location: Kinyerezi, Dar es Salaam
Reports To: DIRECTOR OF DOWNSTREAM OPERATIONS
4.0. JOB SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor (Transmission/Distribution) is responsible for:
Supervising a team of Control Room Operators while assisting the Manager and
maintenance team with the daily operation of natural gas transmission and
distribution pipelines and related facilities.
4.1. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strong, visible HSSE Leadership and develop HSSE commitment in every
employee
Foster an Operating Environment that is focused on Continuous Improvement
Manage all aspects of daily Pipeline Operations
Schedule shifts and review shift logs;
Take a lead role in the development of skills and competencies of Control Centre
Operators
Undertake formal competency assessments, performance appraisals
Promote open knowledge sharing
Undertake on the job training/coaching on new operating procedures and
equipment, etc.
Establish Facility HSE Metrics in compliance with OSHA and EPA Standards and
Champion the Facilitys Process Safety Management (PSM) Program
Supervise daily activities of the Control Centre Operations in accordance with
Control Centre safety regulations and company procedures;
Plan, prioritize and co-ordinate day-to-day work schedules for the team, taking into
account maintenance activities to maximize opportunities to access equipment.
Trouble shoot advanced problems associated with the SCADA system and hardware;
Trouble shooting, console support and leak detection consultation;
Assume responsibility and point of contact in the event of emergency situations;
Ensure production rates are maximized in line with production forecasts and targets
and that equipment and facilities are available to support production operations.
Respond to emergency callouts to assist in pipeline operation and troubleshooting.
4.2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc. in Chemical and Process /Mechanical/Gas Engineering or related field with a
minimum of 3 years experience on natural gas pipelines operations;
SCADA based control systems experience is required;
Considerable experience in pipelines operations role ina lead/supervisory capacity;
Thorough knowledge and experience of Onshore and offshore production, process
and utilities systems and operations;
Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project Management,
Detailed knowledge of pipeline codes and industry standards and ability to learn,
interpret and apply, ISO, API, ANSI / ASME and other appropriate codes for natural
gas industry.
Must possess and demonstrate high level of integrity

Job Title 5: GAS PLANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR (8 Posts)
Location: SongoSongo, Mnazi Bay
Reports To: PLANT ENGINEER
5.0 JOB SUMMARY
Gas Plant Shift supervisor is responsible for:
Supervising the shift tasks of Gas Plant Operators, Compressor and Instrument Air
Operators, Laboratory, and other personnel assigned to the plant by scheduling work,
providing work direction, performance feedback and training.
Executing applicable elements of Facility HSE Program to ensure Employee and
Facility Safety.
Ensuring Operating personnel contribute at optimum levels to achieve Facility
Targets for Plant Operational Reliability
5.1 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise shift activities of Gas Plant Operators, Compressor and Instrument Air
Operators, Laboratory Services and Water Production and Treatment Section
Supervise activities of Operators engaged in sampling and testing of natural gas and
field-testing to determine specific gravity, vapor and hydrocarbon content, and other
properties of gas; operate, control and maintain processing equipment at Field
installations
Work with engineering support group in development/verification of piping designs,
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for
plant facility
Work with company experts to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of
applicable Process Safety Management (PSM), Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and company
processes and procedures and implement appropriate provisions into all Operating
Procedures
Ensure overall compliance with safety, environmental and other company guidelines,
policies, etc.
Conduct regular safety meetings; helps coordinate safety and environmental training,
and manages required periodic safety and environmental inspections
Serve as lead operator on shift, supervises and trains lower level operators
Check work locations to ensure systems are properly and safely prepared for
maintenance and/or repair; notify the crew of any unusual and/or hazardous
situations that could develop
Ensure lock-out/tag-out and other safety procedures are followed prior to work
commencing and during work performance
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly or other reports as required
5.2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B.Sc. in Chemical or Process or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of five (5) years Supervisory Experience in Manufacturing or Process
Operations environment
Demonstrable PC/software skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and
software related to natural gas operations, in particular Measurement and Metering
Systems
Technically proficient with P&IDs/PFDs; strong technical and operations experience in
natural gas compression and separation processes; hands-on experience Distributive
Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA Systems for Process Control
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

6.0 JOB SUMMARY
Gas Compressor Operator is responsible for
Operating and maintaining Facility compressors and auxiliary equipment e.g.
motors, engines, auxiliary units, cooling equipment, pumps, gas process equipment
(dehydration units, dryers, etc) to attain specific pipeline pressures and flow rates
Making adjustments to Compressor Control parameters to produce Natural Gas
within the required quality parameters; the adjustments could be self-initiated or
by request from the Gas Plant Control Room Operator
Executing applicable elements of Facility HSE Program to ensure Employee and
Facility Safety
6.1. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficiently and safely operate Compressors and Auxiliary Equipment to ensure that
the Facility Production Targets are achieved
Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and take appropriate action
Respond to requests for adjustments to Field equipment operation from the Gas Plant
Control Room Operator)
Monitor facility supervisory control system and respond to system changes, alarms,
etc. accordingly; responsible for ensuring proper flows, temperatures, pressures, and
levels. Recognize operating deviations and take appropriate corrective action
Responsible for recording operating parameter values, completion of operating
reports, notification of safety and environmental deviations, and equipment
lockout/tag-out for maintenance and repair
Monitors meters, gauges, and recording instrument charts to ensure specified
temperature, pressure, and flow of gas through system
Read gas meters, and maintain records of the amounts of gas received and dispensed
from holders.
Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment, and replace filters and gaskets, using hand tools.
6.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of Technician or Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or or Equivalent
qualification
Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Minimum of three (3) years work experience with the operation of pipelines, gas
compressors, a gas storage facility, gas engines, dehydrators and/or gas treating
equipment, power generation units or processing and manufacturing industries or any
other related experience
Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases or liquids, and
high pressure systems and the principles of internal combustion engines, and gas
processing equipment
Expertise in new compressor technologies and comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and
analytical skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision; Must possess and demonstrate high level of
integrity
Must be computer literate with MS Office proficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: Ability to read, comprehend and apply
information found in Operating and Equipment manuals

Job Title 7: GAS PLANT POWER GENERATION OPERATOR (8 Posts)

Reports To: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (ELECTRICAL ENGINEER)
7.0 JOB SUMMARY
Power Generation Plant Operator is responsible for:
Responding to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and execute plant
shut-down and start-up procedures in addition to maintenance procedures as
required
To assure that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a
safe and efficient manner
Preparing equipment malfunction reports, make inspections and from
observation, determine whether equipment is operating properly
Operating power plant auxiliary systems such as HVAC systems, lighting systems,
telephone and radio communication systems, station battery, etc.
7.1 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate Gas turbines/Engines/Generators and all associated equipment safely and
efficiently
Perform operational activities required to support start-up, shutdown, and normal
operation of plant equipment and systems
Report equipment conditions or other facility anomalies that could affect the plant
status to the Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical Engineer) or either of the other
Maintenance Supervisors (Mechanical and Instrument Engineers)
Make entries in the operating logs, environmental records, and other administrative
documentation needed to support the operation and maintenance of the facility
Perform assigned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency
maintenance and inspection of plant mechanical and electrical equipment
Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, or voltage of electricity
supplied to panels and controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the
flow of power between generating stations and substations.
Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, turbines, or other power
plant equipment as necessary
Control or maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors,
condensers, feed water heaters, filters, or chlorinators, to supply water, fuel,
lubricants, air, or auxiliary power
Clean, lubricate, or maintain equipment, such as generators, turbines, pumps, or
compressors, to prevent failure or deterioration
Place standby emergency electrical generators on line in emergencies and monitor
the temperature, output, and lubrication of the system
Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using
testing devices.
7.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Technicians Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of three (3) years Power Generating Plant Operator Experience in a
Manufacturing or Process Operations environment
Demonstrable PC/software skills including working knowledge of Microsoft
Office and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for Generator Control
Strong technical and operations experience in Power Plant Operations
Must possess the ability to read, comprehend and apply information found in
operating and equipment manuals
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude and
display team-based interpersonal skills
Must be able to read and respond to computer-generated data, instrumentation,
gauges, readouts and variations in color

8.0 JOB SUMMARY
Gas Plant Control Room Operator is responsible for;
To Monitor plant performance
Making adjustments to the Gas Plant Process Control parameters to produce Natural
Gas within the required quality parameters
Instruct Gas Plant Field Operators to make Field adjustments to equipment as
required
Responsible for the safe operation of all Facility Equipment/System including, but not
limited to: Cryogenic Plant Processing, Fractionation units, Process Controls and
Measurement Systems, Pumps, Pressure Relief System, Instrument Air System,
Dehydrators, Fuel System, Emergency Shutdown Systems, Natural Gas Turbines,
Reciprocating Compressors, Natural Gas-Fired boilers, Process Pumps, Amine MEG
Treating Systems, Inlet Gas Receivers and NGL Storage and Transfer Facilities
Execute applicable elements of Facility HSE Program to ensure Employee and Facility
Safety
8.1 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor process parameters in the control room and co-ordinate intervention
activities
Direct/guide the Gas Plant Field Operator to make adjustments to Field-Operated
Equipment to ensure that the Facility Production Targets are achieved
Direct/guide the Gas Plant Field Operator and Maintenance personnel to execute the
production and routine first line maintenance activities in oil/gas facilities, whilst
ensuring that production targets are met and that wells, facilities maintenance,
integrity, HSE and business requirements are satisfied
Monitor operating parameters of level, pressure, flow rate, temperature and ensure
plant is operating within operational envelope; establish operating Trend Groups for
efficient Process Control
Produce daily operations report, highlighting equipment and process faults compiled
from Operators log. Assist the team leader in preparation of monthly plant
performance and Equipment run-hours, including availability statistics
Ensure an efficient handover to the incoming Gas Plant Control Room Operator such
that Facility status is fully understood, particularly if there are unresolved process,
operating or maintenance issues; also brief the relief Gas Plant Control Room
Operator on any maintenance or other activity taking place on the Facility
8.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of three (3) years Plant Operator Experience in a Manufacturing or Process
Operations environment

9.0 JOB SUMMARY
Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for;
Supervision and management of mechanical components of the Facility
Ensure overall efficient function of all mechanical equipment such as engines, electric
motors, compressors, pumps, fired heaters, filtration equipment, heat exchangers, air
coolers, cooling towers, pressure vessels, valves, pressure relief devices, and other
specialty items
Monitor performance of mechanical equipment and make adjustments/interventions
to ensure 100% continuous availability of mechanical equipment required for the
Facility to achieve its Performance Targets
Responsible for the Safety of Direct Reports and the integrity of all mechanical
equipment
Assist in developing and manage approved Department Capital and Operating
Budgets
Ensure all maintenance work is conducted under HSE, OSHA and Environmental
Regulations
9.1 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure safe operation of all Mechanical Equipment in compliance with the highest
international safety standards
Supervise and manage, install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical
structures, and pipe, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic
drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing
instruments
Install and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic
