Here I am with a glass of dark rum, some
tabasco and an introduction to the album of
my life to do. It can sound normal for you, but
let me refresh your memory... Ive been in the
techno game for almost half of my life now,
most of it sober, witnessing the changes and
the power of this music. Been there, done that,
but were not here to speak about me.
In 2003 they entered my life and I changed
theirs (by accident, I swear). Xavier and
Gaspard were kind of guys next door, normal
till I listen to their music. Lets not mention the
mellow mood of french scene at that time,
lets just say they brought back something we
missed for a while in electronic music. Their
sound bled, sweat and tore the girls out.
We should get it tattooed guys! Oh no we
already have our very own Audio Video Disco,
by the way sorry Xavier for ruining your arm...
Whats wrong with them and whats wrong
with me for releasing records that sounds like
a chainsaw melody? Whats wrong with club
kids around the world who want to stage-dive
and ll parties like if we delivered ultimate
rock shows? It was the best moments of our
lives. Gaspard probably lost all his boarding
passes, Xavier missed all the lobby calls, and
I survived. Introducing Justice to the planet
was certainly the most accomplished thing Ive
done in my life. If you have this record in your
hands, you probably know everything already,
so lets turn this page and speak about this new
record. Isnt it why liner notes are made for?
Horsepower got that Jeff Waynes War of the
Worlds O.S.T drama, its heavy, its raw, and
once again, Justice delivered the perfect intro
for an album. Id like to use this space to tell
you that me neither, I have no idea what they
meant with those buffalos in the Civilization
video! The David Crosby hommage with
Ohio once again proved that les boys (this is
how I call them) and I are on the same page.
My love for folky depressive music is kind of
recent. Tweaking it with Justice skills and here
is certainly my favourite song of this album.
I remember the goose bump effect at the studio.
Canon, yes Ozzy should like this one as much
as I do! Talking about Black Sabbath, Im sure
you all noticed Gaspards crazy outts. From
heavy metal to weirdo baroque tee shirts, and
from skinny perfecto to hooligan scarves from
East Germany, yes, that man got a passion for
fashion. K-Earth 101 is our favourite radio in
Los Angeles, from Todd Rundgren to Hall and
Oates, classic after classic, its our California
soundtrack. My dear K-Earth people, what
can I do to hear OnnOn on air driving from
LAX to Farmers Market? Brianvision : If like
me youre a fan of Steve Vai and Giorgio
Moroder, this one is for you. Im not in a rush
to die, but if it happens one day, lets play
Parade, grab the hand of the person next to
you and let me hear you sing, ok? New Lands :
Here I am again with my comparisons, I know
its easy but hey, Im here to try and tease you
guys. If Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Rick
Davies of Supertramp were OK to give birth
(genetically assisted of course) this song could
be the result. Now, I think you deserve to know
the truth, Helix wasnt supposed to be on the
record. You can thank me if you like it. Blame
me if you dont! Audio, Video, Disco : I hear,
I see, I learn ; our rst homemade tattoo, your
new album. Im proud of you guys, honored to
release it and share it to the world on Ed Rec.
If you read this now, it means I managed to
keep your attention till the end, which is pretty
cool. Maybe if Im lucky Ill get a Grammy
nomination for Best Album Notes, who knows ?
