1. Download the installer and image files as indicated below based on your operating system.
Files for WINDOWS Based installation Files for Linux based installation
1. SoftwareAGI nstaller20140415.exe 1. SoftwareAGI nstaller20140415.jar
2. webMFREEDownload96(Win64bit).zip 2. webMFREEDownload96(Linux64bit).zip
2. I f you are going to run the installer on a Windows system, you must have Windows system administrator privileges. On a Windows
8, Windows Server 2012, or later system, if you want to use the jar file rather than the exe to start the installer, you must execute
the jar file from within a command shell that has system administrator privileges.
3. Once you launch the installer SoftwareAGI nstaller20140415.exe, select Advanced Options... from the Welcome Panel and go to the
Images tab as shown below.
4.Navigate and select the appropriate image file by clicking the Browse button.
Select the image file webMFREEDownload96(Win64bit).zip for WI N
For a Linux based installation, select webMFREEDownload96(Linux64bit).zip
5. Once you select the appropriate image file, click on Validate Image to ensure the image you downloaded is not corrupt. This may
take a few minutes, but once it is complete you can proceed.
Proceed to the next step by clicking OK
6. From the Welcome panel, click the Next > button and accept the default or specify a different Installation directory:, confirm the
Hostname or IP address: of the machine you are installing on and the Start Menu group name: for the webMethods installation.
Click Next > to proceed.
7. Select the all the product(s) or a subset that you would like to install and click Next > as shown below. Based on your product
selection, required components will be automatically selected.
8. Read the license agreement and indicate whether you accept the terms. To read the third-party license agreements, you need
I nternet access. I f you do not have I nternet access, you can go to a machine that has I nternet access and enter
http://documentation.softwareag.com/legal in a browser.
9. Proceed with the I nstallation by providing the License key file, installation ports and database to connect to as required. You will
be able to download the license key from the same location where you downloaded the product image and webMethods I nstaller.
When you save the license from the browser, open the saved license file to make sure that the first line of line starts with <?xml
version="1.0" encoding="US-ASCII"?> . Depending on the browser, this line can be different. I f you see a different line, please change
it to
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="US-ASCII"?>
You can either choose external RDBMS or embeded database. For more details please refer to webMethods I nstallation Guide

Product installation will start. You will be able to see the progress bar as shown below:
10. The installer installs the products and related items, and then displays the installation complete panel. Click Close.
11. Ensure the products you selected have been installed in the installation directory and now you can use the Start menu to start the
servers installed.

Hi,
I agreed f or the agreement and submitted, waited f or more than 4 hours tiill now didn't get any downloadable
link to my ID. Anyone could you please comment on this?

Just tried it and got downloadable link immediately. For me, e-mail f rom Sof tware AG was considered as
spam and e-mail went into Spam f older. Please check if related e-mail f or you was directed into spam f older
or not.

I can't install latest trial.
Installer always hangs during license validation - Specif y a valid license f ile.
I tried two times get license key to be sure nothing is corrupted.
Inside license f ile Exipration date is 2014-07-15 so it's not expired.
I'm not sure about O/S because there are
<OS>w2008, win7_pro, w2012, win8</OS>
but i have win7 ultimate.
Without more specif ic error error description is really hard to guess where the problem is. The O/S is clean
install (Webmethods was never installed bef ore).

I have the same issue i think when i downloaded the key f ile i f ormatted it and saved it may be it is validating
the checksum and my checksum could be dif f erent, if any one has resolved this issue please let me know

to resolve the license key problem, you have to replace the encoding attribute value in the xml f ile (in the f irst
line)
it must be encoding="US-ASCII"

The license key f ile is an XML f ormatted f ile. When selecting the hyperlink on my email to download the
license key f ile, my email client displays the license f ile immediately in the Browser instead of downloading it.
Use caution here because if you copy-and-paste the XML f ormatted license f rom the Browser, you will
notice that it leaves the dash symbol in f ront of every XML node element. This is of ten the cause of the
problem people encounter with the license f ile or most any other XML f ormatted f ile that displays in a
Browser.
As a solution, if the XML f ile displays in the Browser, just simply select File -> SaveAs. Saving the XML this
was will not retain the dash symbol.

Please also note that we have updated the Getting started guide with the f ollowing inf ormation:

HI, I have installed trial version but when i open designer it is not showing the packages giving error Could
not create the view: com.sof twareag.is.pipeline.view.views.PipelineView as well as in window-
>Pref erences->sof tware AG is not there so i cannot connect my designer with Integration server. Please
help me on this.
