Aerotec T-23 Uirapuru Production of this pri mary t rai ner

Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante Including options and civil
orders, 135 Bandeirante light t ransport s have been ordered
and t he cur r ent production r at e is four a mont h. Just over 40
of t he 60 passenger-carrying versions for t he Brazilian Air
Force have been delivered. Twenty freighters are on order.
The Brazilian Air Ministry has ordered 12 EMB-111 mari t i me
patrol vari ant s. These are equipped with an APS-503 nose
search radar, a Collins inertia! navigation system and various
other new avionics as well as 67gal wingtip fuel t anks and a
high-power searchlight. The Brazilian Air Force may order
two navaid-calibration Bandelrantes.

ARGENTINA
FMA IA-50 Gil Production of Guaranis is now understood to
be complete, although plans for a pressurised version still
exist. Including pre-series aircraft, 41 of these light t ransport s
were built, not all for military use.

FMA IA-58 Pucara The first of an initial batch of 30 Coin
Pucaras, designated A-501, was handed over t o t he Argentine
Air Force in November 1974 and about one aircraft a month
is currently being produced. This is planned to rise to t hree
a mont h during 1977, and t he total Argentine requi rement is
understood to have risen from 70 to about 100 aircraft
Operators: Argentina up to 100 required.
Neiva T-25 Universal Designed as a basic t rai ner to repl ace
T-6s in t he Brazilian Air Force, 142 aircraft had been delivered
by t he end of November last year.
Operators: Brazil 150 on order; Chile 10.
CANADA
de Havilland DHC-5 Buffalo The Buffalo line was re-opened
in 1974 to build an initial batch of 19 aircraft, 15 of t hem for
export. The new Buffaloes are powered by t he GE T64-820-4,
flat-rated to 92 F instead of t he previous versions' 59F. Gross
weight is up to 49,0001b and payload is up 50 per cent t o
18,0001b. Fuel capacity is up 2,0001b, improving payload-range
without t he need for additional t anks.

16; Zaire 6 on order; Zambia 7.
CZECHOSLOVAKIA
Aero L-29 Delfln* St andard basic t rai ner for t he Warsaw Pact
countries and some sold in small numbers elsewhere. Well
over 3,000 were built before production is believed to have
ceased in 1974.
Operators: Bulgaria; Czechoslovakia 150; Egypt 100+; East
Germany, Guinea Republic; Hungary; Iraq; Nigeria 8;
Romania; Soviet Union; Syria; Uganda 5.
Aero L-39 Albatross Selected as successor to t he L-29, t he
L-39 ent ered service with t he Czech Air Force in 1974 and is
now also in service in t he Soviet Union. The aircraft is par t
of a training package which also includes a simulator. Opera-
tions have been tested from unpaved strips.
Operators: Czechoslovakia; Iraq t rai ner and ground-attack
variant on order; other customers in Warsaw Pact.

AUSTRALIA
GAF N22 Mission Master Approximately half t he 56 orders
for N22 are for t he military Mission Master, which is produced
on t he same line as t he civil Nomad. Thirty-six aircraft have
been delivered so far and production r at e is four a month.
New developments include t he recent first flight of t he
st ret ched N24 prototype and t he addition of 5951b of optional
auxiliary fuel in integral wing-tip t anks. The N24 is nearly
6ft longer t han t he N22, has a typical empty operating weight
of 4,8201b but t he same maxi mum take-off weight at 8,5001b.
With t he auxiliary fuel, maxi mum range at 140kt with reserves
is up to 1,110 n.m., but max disposable load is down 901b to
3,7051b.
FINLAND
Valmet LEKO-70 Flight-testing of this t wo/ t hree-seat pri mary
t rai ner began last year following a prototype order from t he
Finnish Air Force.
Operators: Finland, prototypes only on order.
GERMANY (WEST)
Dornier Do28D Skyservant Lat est production version was
Do28D-2, of which 121 were delivered to German Air Force
and Navy.
