Black hair in an undercut, sleek, not a hair out of place. Leather jacket. Button-down Oxford shirt, buttoned to the top, sleek. Black skinny jeans. Beat-to-shit Chuck Taylors, white. SOUNDS, the idle hum of lights, echoing of cars in the street,chirping of alarms on other floors, punctuated by muted footsteps. still tracking, OVER THE SHOULDER, DRIVER as he pulls a hand out of his jacket pocket, clutching a KEY FOB. Leather gloved. ALARM CHIRPS, following the sound to SILVR HONDA CIVIC. pops open the door and slides in... 2 INT. HONDA CIVIC - NIGHT ...shuts door firmly. BEHIND the drivers seat. Muted silence that turns to high-pitched whine of shellshock, growing louder, louder...It hurts to listen to. SUDDEN cut to black, actual silence. Hesitation, then SHORT TITLE in white lettering. 3 INT. HONDA CIVIC - NIGHT Back to DRIVER. Low-angle shot, looking up at DRIVER from passenger seat. A stony face dimly lit by the lights of the parking structure. He reaches for the glovebox and pulls out an ENVELOPE and loaded SMITH & WESSON and sets it down next to him, CLOSE to lens. He starts the car, powerful roar of ENGINE. A sporty model. He lets the engine warm up, leaning back in his seat. Eyes closed. His eyes open, and he shifts into reverse. Same shot. He glances back and backs out, shifts into drive and goes. ENGINE NOTE fades out to a GIRLS VOICE over the phone. Camera is glued to the hood, focus on DRIVER driving, two hands on the wheel. Streetlights streak by, illuminating his face in a familiar pattern. Eyes hard, jaw clenched. His head cranes as he makes a right-hand turn. Continued phone conversation. GIRL Hi. Will you be home soon? 5. EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT HONDA, parked in alley. DRIVER walks toward us...abandoning the car. Collar popped. As he walks briskly he peels off his gloves. He rounds the corner fast and moves offscreen. The shot lingers for a moment. Phone conversation continues. DRIVER It shouldnt take long. An hour, tops. GIRL (hesitation) Okay. 6. EXT. BUS STOP - NIGHT Conversation continues, over wide shot of DRIVER sitting at BUS STOP. Alone. His head is hung over and his once perfectly styled hair is ruined. Strands and locks of his hair are out of place, hanging over his face. He combs his hair back into place, futile. GIRL Miss you.
