High Range Water-Reducing cum Waterproofing Concrete
Admixture

Description
A highly effective water-reducing compound and superplasticizer for
free flowing concrete. Complies with A.S.T.M. C 494-81 Type B, D & G and IS 9103
99. It also complies to IS -2645 for making waterproof concrete.
Uses
Sikament

277(JSR) as a superplasticizer to produce flowing concrete in:

Floor Slabs
Foundation
Slender components with dense reinforcement
Walls and columns
Beams and ceilings

277(JSR) as a water-reducer for the manufacture of:

Pre-cast concrete elements
Bridges and cantilever structures
Pre-stressed concrete structures

277(JSR) provides the following beneficial properties:

As a superplasticizer
Substantial improvement in workability without increased water or the risk
of segregation
Normal set without retardation, even when overdosed
Improved density and surface finish
Chloride free - does not attack reinforcement or prestress cables
As a Water Reducer
High water reduction
Significant increase in ultimate strength
Improved surface finish
Improved water tightness
No excessive air entrainment
No adverse shrinkage effect , especially suitable for hot climates
Dosage
0.3% - 2.0% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of
effect sought, quality and quantity of cement, sand grading,
W/C ratio and ambient temperature. Therefore, it is advisable to carry out trial mixes
before determining the dose.
Dispensing
Sikament

277(JSR) can be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete.

When added separately to the freshly mixed concrete, further mixing should take
place for at least one minute.

Handling
Precautions
SIKA Products are generally quite harmless, provided certain precautions are taken
for handling chemicals. Avoid contact with foodstuff and food utensils. Avoid
prolonged skin contact. Wear protective clothing, gloves etc. (barrier cream). In the
event of contamination, wash thoroughly with water. If the eye or mouth is affected,
wash with clean water immediately and obtain medical attention.
