Three years of being in the Honors Class enabled me to describe the strengths and distinct
characteristics of each person in the group as well as when they work together; but to not sound
biased, Id like to write in the omniscient point of view.

In terms of academics, I can say that HC is critically minded and competitive. With their
participation in class, one can perceive sound and relevant thoughts which are either accepted
or negated by other similarly reasonable opinions. They are able to justify their ideas not only
through personal experiences but also with different lenses (i.e. philosophical thoughts, literary
approaches, theories, etc.) Moreover, I noticed that, since some are undeniably competitive,
others who are not so, try to compete as well. They wouldnt make a mediocre work just
because it is a minor activity. For instance, when asked to narrate a short story, others had a
dramatization, others composed a song, and some had a picture analysis.

HC however has a weakness. I think that the group needs improvement on study habits.
Although having noticeably better study habits than other sections, I believe it is not enough
considering the amount of expectation from them and the amount of skill demanded by the
course. They usually work on tasks only when it should be submitted. They most of the time
engage in senseless chats when the professor is out or classes are suspended. Some would
also skip class to do tasks for another subject. Nevertheless, and as I can presume, these were
improved in time through self-realization that they are only making it harder for themselves
with procrastination.

Meanwhile, with the best of my knowledge, I can say that there are distinct differences between
HC and other sections. I noticed that HC is more serious with studies. They see the importance
of not only passing but getting high grades. They would be stressed with a long list of
requirements but would still make sure to pass a substantial work. They would even not sleep
perfecting a task to be passed the next day. Moreover, HC is also considerate with each other.
They have a collective effort to fill the gaps on the subjects wherein others are good while
others are not. Reviewers for their reports are distributed even without instruction by the
professor. Group studies are done to share knowledge especially on tests. With these, I can
therefore say that most of them do exhibit potentials of graduating with honors. Many excel
evidently but those who do not excel much still have specific skills that could be utilized to
unleash their potential.

Given these observations, Id like to recommend three things. First, give a different curriculum
for the HC. The program could provide additional subjects. The online class is a good option.
Actually, I hope we have taken the rumored Spanish class for us. Also, choose the best
teachers for them. This will extend their difference from other classes. Second, they should
continue the debate training. It is really helpful in class participation especially in teaching.
Finally, expose them to more seminars. They will further enrich learning through other peoples
perspectives.
