Salary circa 11,700 - 14,400 or 15,300 - 18,800
Hours 18.5 hours per week or 24 hours per week depending on experience

We are looking for a tutor responsible for course delivery and assessment of
learners and units of BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality and VRQ Qualifications.
You will undertake a teaching programme within the Hospitality and Food Studies
team, together with programme management responsibilities on the Front of House
Reception Programme. You will carry out other various administrative and
developmental tasks deemed necessary for the successful delivery of the curriculum.

With evidence of a good standard of general education and a minimum of 4 GCSEs
including English and Maths at A to C grades you will also have appropriate level 3
qualifications in Customer Service or a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Hospitality
Management. A Cert Ed or the equivalent and Assessor qualifications are also
essential although support can be given to obtain these in post. Knowledge of
working in a supervisory capacity in a highly reputable hospitality
organisation/catering operation is preferred as is recent experience of teaching
Customer Service, and Supervisory skills to FE learners.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title Lecturer in Front Office/Reception and Customer Service
Reports to Head of Hospitality
Salary 23,547 - 28,929 (Point 23 to 30) pro rata
(Actual salary 11,773 - 14,464 or 15,305 - 18,803
per annum)

Overall responsibility
Tutor responsible for course delivery and assessment of learners (NVQ 2 Diploma in
Front of House Reception) and units of BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality and
VRQ Qualifications. Undertake a teaching programme within the Hospitality and
Food Studies team, together with programme management responsibilities on the
Front of House Reception Programme. Carry out other various administrative and
developmental tasks deemed necessary for the successful delivery of the curriculum.
Main Duties
1. Teach a range of subjects within the area of Hospitality Management and
Customer Services (Practical and theoretical aspects) and depending on
knowledge and experience, possibly other disciplines of a more general
nature.

2. Undertake curriculum development

3. Undertake planning and timetable activity

4. Participate fully as a member of the Hospitality and Food Studies team and
undertake course management responsibilities.

5. Liaise with employers and others to provide student industrial placements and
guest speakers /lecturers.

6. Provide personal and academic tutorial support for allocated student groups
as well as providing support and guidance to students during teaching and
assessment activities.

7. Undertake administrative, assessment and other duties related to the role of
lecturer

8. Assist in publicity and marketing activities as required

9. Undertake professional development in line with Centre policy
