Worked Reflection 4/28/14 5:00pm 7:00pm 2 Today I began participating in a Grade 3-8 Science Inquiry Course to evaluate how to assess students (teachers) taking this course. I evaluated Module 1 and began constructing a sample action plan to use as a sample for grading. I am going to go through this course as a student and complete each module so that I can fully understand the requirements of the online professional development from the students perspective. 4/29/14 5:00pm 7:00pm 2 Today, I continued to evaluate the 3-8 Science Course as a participant. We determined that since I am evaluating two courses, I will hold off on the rubric creation until I evaluate the next course as well. 5/5/14 5:00pm 7:00pm 2 Today I began participating in an Online Professional Development Course on Assessment. We set a plan to have the Assessment course evaluation completed in the next week. I was given guidelines for my main project, which will be creating Power Points for the elementary virtual school for 5 th Grade Math. I set up a tutorial meeting so I can learn how to complete the assignment. I was given over 100 hours to complete two semesters of course creation for 5 th Grade Math. 5/19/14 5:30pm 7:30pm 2 Today, I had a meeting for SADL (the Seminole County Elementary Virtual School). I met with Erin, who has been working on this project and we had a live session via Go Meeting so that I could shadow her completing a module. Then, she watched as I completed a module. It was very in depth and I took copious notes on the requirements that I need to have in each individual lesson. I will be creating twelve chapters of math work for an entire school year. This will include over 100 individual lessons for students. I have a course builders guide that I will be following when I complete each lesson. Each lesson has a unique naming convention that I must follow after I create/update each slide. I also need to save the files as a jpeg so that they can be uploaded to Blackboard. Additionally, after I am done creating all the lessons for each semester, I have to create a Pages document for the Learning Coaches, so that they can follow along with each lessons requirements with their assigned students. I have not used Pages before, so I will need to take a tutorial online to see how to utilize the software to the best of my ability. I also have templates that I can use to build each lesson, but they will have to be modified for each lesson. 5/20/14 5:00pm 7:00pm 2 Today, I continued to evaluate the Assessment Course as a participant. I then wrote up a summary of my findings, including both positive and negative as well as cost projections. 5/21/14 6:30pm 8:30pm 2 Today, I continued to evaluate the Assessment Course as a participant. I completed Module 5 and constructed the next section of the student required Action Plan. I submitted my completed sample action plan to my internship coordinator and was notified to set up a Google Doc with Teresa, an Instructional Designer, so that we can collaborate on rubrics to use to evaluate the discussion and action plan for both courses. 5/22/14 4:00pm 5:00pm 1 Today, I developed rubrics for both Intel Courses to use as assessments in online PDs for the 3-8 Inquiry Science course and the Assessment course. I shared my Google Doc with Teresa and we worked virtually together to try to determine how to best evaluate the students in these courses. Due to low enrollment though, the courses may need to wait to be rolled out until the Fall. 5/25/14 8:00am 9:00am 1 Today, I began Unit 1 of the SADL course design for 5 th Grade Math. I reviewed them with the Instructional Designers and we determined a two-point rubric as needed for discussions and five point rubrics for each section of the action plan. We will use my completed action plans as a guide to ensure that the students are completing original action plans. The courses have been pushed to the Fall so I will not get to evaluate students for my Internship, however they will be using the materials I created when a teacher is assigned to the course in the Fall. 6/2/2014 8:00am 12:00pm 4 Today, I discovered an error in my first Unit of the 5 th grade course design.
