Automated Installation of the Introscope Agent
via SMD
The Solution Manager Diagnostics provides an application that performs the setup
of the Introscope bytecode agent for Java automatically. This section explains the
steps to run the setup. Before you can run the Introscope agent setup, the setup
i!ard for the managed system must have been executed.

0. )hec/ the Enterprise Manager Settings at the top of the screen. These are the
connection parameters that ill be used by the agent to connect to the #nterprise
Manager.
1. In the pane Introscope Agent Setttings, select the system that you ant to
instrument ith the agent. )hec/ 2select all3 and clic/ 24etrieve )urrent
Settings3. This ill display the current status of the agent setup.
5. To initially setup or update the agents, clic/ Setup Introscope Agent . This ill
open the setup dialog as shon belo. Select the desired agent version 6by
default only one available7 and choose the profile. 'ext, chec/ the desired
instrumentation areas, and, in the case of %I8, revie the %I8 settings to match
your environment 6J9 or classic mode7.
:. ;inally, hit %pply to perform the necessary changes in the agent configuration.
%gent config files ill be adapted, an %utoprobe connector ill be created if
necessary, and the Java <M parameters ill be set as re=uired for the managed
system.

Manual Installation of the Introscope Agent
Setting Up Wily Agent (Manual Procedure)
The Wily Agent can be downloaded from the Service Market Place from the below
path:-

Note: !f we config"re the wily agent man"ally we need to download the .SA# file
el$e we want to go for the a"tomatic method %i.e deployment thro"gh S&M'
we need to download the .S(S for the $ame.
After downloading the SA# file p"t it in the /usr/sap/ccms folder in the $atellite
$y$tem



Now e)tract the .SA# file in thi$ folder only i.e %cd *"$r*$ap*ccm$'
#"n the command SAP(A# )vf+!SAgent.SA#,and e)tract the .SA# file in the
((MS directory.
After e)tracting a folder wily i$ created with contain$ many file$.
!n the above $creen$hot it i$ $hown wily folder i$ created in ccm$ after e)tracting
the .SA# file
!f we go into the wily folder we can $ee the $ome new folder$folder$.

onfiguring Introscope Agent Settings

The Agent config"ration $etting$ are fo"nd by defa"lt in the file:-
/usr/sap/ccms/!ily/IntroscopeAgent"profile
Thi$ file$contain$ SAP $pecific c"$tomi-ation$. So we need to change . parameter$ in
thi$ file to make it connect to the (entral Sy$tem %Solman'

/elow are the two parameter$ we need to modify.

need to $pecify the 0o$t name or !p Addre$$ of the machine where the 1nterpri$e
Manager lie$ %(entral Sy$tem'

So we are changing it via win$cp or vi editor and $ave the file.

reating AutoPro*e onnector
We need to create a connector to fit the 5&6 ver$ion. Thi$ i$ re7"ired everytime we
in$tall or "pgrade a new 5&6 ver$ion
Note: +A better $ol"tion i$ available with 5&6 4.8. The option 9bootcla$$path
di$appear$.
!n$tead the option,-a.aagent:d:/usr/sap/ccms/!ily/Agent"-ari$ "$ed. %No
connector.:ar anymore'.
We need to "$e the reateAutoPro*eonnector"-artool pre$ent in$ide the
/!ily/connectors to create a connector $pecific
to the 5;M "$ed in o"r $y$tem. #efer to the below $creen$hot:-
Now< we need to create the A"toprobe connector by thi$ tool. We need to r"n the
following command:-

the connectors directory
We can find the -a.a0home path $pecified in the command by:-

Now to activate the agent we need to $pecify > parameter$ in the config tool and
