In my current role at Northern & Shell, I manage the entire UNIX and Linux estate as well
as the following core enterprise business applications for advertising, fnancials, rights
management, circulation, print distribution and editorial archiving:
PeopleSoft enterprise nancials
Migrating acquisitions fnancial platforms onto PeopleSoft, including Channel 5,
Portland TV and The Health Lottery.
Supporting the entire PeopleSoft Enterprise system stack, from the clustered SPARC
Solaris servers up. Writing and testing DR procedures and automating the deployment
of application, web and process scheduler servers.
Developing customisations for PeopleSoft using PeopleSofts native language
PeopleCode and development tools such as AppDesigner.
Integrating and automating transactions between internal and external systems using
PeopleSofts powerful integration broker engine.

Elvis DAM
Singlehandedly implementing and maintaining the entire stack for a new digital asset

Maintained and operated a variety of telecoms systems for different sites and companies
across the country, including all Northern & Shell UK sites, The Imperial War Museum,
The Cabinet War Rooms, RAF Duxford, HMS Belfast, conference centres, fats and offce
buildings. Key projects included:
Upgrading all UK sites to the latest Mitel 3300 IP based telecoms systems, confguring
seamless DR fail-over between each site.
Deploying and maintaining Mitel Linux onto powerful x86 servers at Northern & Shell for
call encryption, call recording, logging and then feeding this information into statistical
software to display essential business information live to our sales foors and customer
service centre.

Installed and operated a wide range of multi-media equipment such as speakers, PA
systems, microphones, projectors, lighting and networking for large scale conferences
and events. Managed site infrastructure and servers, including AD domain controllers
and Mitel SX2000 telecoms systems.

While still at school wrote and sold my frst piece of software, a Microsoft access
booking system for a local taxi company, to log jobs, calculate drivers wages and store

About Me
I am absolutely passionate about I.T both as a hobby and as a career, I run a number of
raspberry Pi computers at home for video streaming, my own VPN and as a retro games
emulator. I am also running a new and completely open Linux mobile OS called Sailfsh on a
phone I had delivered specially from Finland as a developer.
My other passion is Land Rovers and classic cars, I currently own several old land rovers
which I have used to travel the world reaching as far as the Sahara desert in my Defender,
with just 1 other vehicle. In my spare time I am currently restoring a classic Range Rover and
competing in nation-wide off-roading competitions.
