'Learning Object using ICT'.
Title: Children's Games in Ancient Greece

Context: Age of students: 8-12 years old.

Time it took the project: 1(one) school year and we were working on this about five
hours a week.
The following objectives generally follow the taxonomy of Bloom.
OBJECTIVES:
Cognitive area
At the end of the project, students have to know:
The children's games in ancient Greece and in particular, in ancient Athens
About the environment in which the children lived in ancient Greece
About the history of our country
To narrate orally and in writing
To create enriched texts (pictures and words)
To do simple arithmetic calculations
To make comparisons
To divide objects into categories
To make crafts relating to our theme
Emotional
Development relationships, acceptance and cooperation among team members.
Increase the confidence of students, when they achieve their goals.
Psychokinetic
Pupils make collages to tell a related story, combining text with images.
They play with models of ancient toys.
They play drama games with relevant subject.
METHODOLOGY
Divide into groups of 2-3 children. Each group has a computer.
Use the ICT tools that they have learnt.
Search in the Internet to find appropriate sources and information that they need

Students at the end complete evaluation I have done with Hot Potatoes - Word -
Power point. Students complete text or images to see what they have learned until
now.
ICT tools:
Office applications: Word and Power point.
Then, they put these texts in Slide Share to create presentations in our blog.
Besides, they use Padlet, Glogster, Smore, (for digital newspaper)
Ecards, Skype or Oovoo to communicate with the other school.
Voki to present themselves and avoid photos with their faces.
Kidspiration or Mindomo (divided in categories)
Kizoa to present photos of their work.
Hot Potatoes (mostly create and solve crosswords)
Rubistar: Rubric Evaluation of cooperation, of reading, of writing, of narration,
with criteria: 1. Excellent performance, 2. Moderate performance, 3. Low
performance.

This was a project I did with my class this year (2013-2014) in e Twinning. We partnered with a
primary school in Cyprus and we exchanged information about the ancient Greek games and
traditional games of Cyprus.

ii
My class is a special class, because in it, study pupils with learning difficulties and come from all
classes of my primary school.
