- Knowledge of Reference Data front to back

The Reference Data Program is one of Credit Suisses key strategic initiatives. The program is sponsored by the IB
COO, and comprises the Client, Product (Instrument), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Contract Data Utility
(CDU), and now Book sub-programs. The accuracy and timeliness of our reference data is a critical enabler to
providing a service that our clients admire and in enabling us to respond to regulators effectively. The Reference
Data Program aims to ensure this through establishing single master databases (Golden Copies) for quality-
controlled client and product data, migrating all departments to use this data, and implementing clear data ownership
and governance.

The Book Management Team (BMT) is a new function within Reference Data Production to centralize and coordinate
the book reference data functions and tasks currently performed by Product Control (PC), Strategic Risk
Management (SRM), Financial Systems Control (FSC), Global Data Structures (GDS), etc., along with the
establishment of reasonable and achievable SLAs. The BMT Change Program will help this new organization
develop Target Operating Model and provide tactical and strategic change for better management of the book
reference data.
