Health Policy Journalism Internship at EvidenceNetwork.ca
Deadline: August 15, 2014 The Evidence Network of Canadian Health Policy, commonly known as EvidenceNetwork.ca, is a non- partisan, web-based project funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Manitoba Health Research Council to make the latest evidence on controversial health policy issues available to the media. The project links journalists with health policy experts to provide access to credible, evidence-based information, and creates original Op-Eds, articles, infographics, posters, podcasts and videos on health policy topics for publication in the mainstream media.
Interns are expected to work with EvidenceNetwork.ca experts and evidence to write original articles, backgrounders and commentaries or to create dynamic videos, infographics and podcasts under the direction of EvidenceNetwork.ca for publication and distribution in major media outlets across Canada. Interns will work in co-operation with EvidenceNetwork.ca to determine genre, topic, style and length/duration of their project(s) during their tenure. Upon completion of the internship, the intern should have had several articles, videos or podcasts on pressing health policy issues published both in the mainstream media and reproduced on the EvidenceNetwork.ca website (www.evidencenetwork.ca).
