Global Equity Analytics (GEA) is a real-time analytics suite. It provides insight into the complete trading cycle via a tabular and graphical interactive interface. The architecture of the system provides coverage of all equities available via your Bloomberg feed, with data items including real-time prices, stock descriptions and recent news. GEA Standard Toolbar & Menu Side Panel Top Panel Main Grid Portfolio View Control Enables the user to complete various portfolio associated and application- wide tasks. Enables the user to access commonly used features: Grid Views, Charts, Reports and Tools. Select tabs to view Summary Portfolio Analytics, Liquidity Dispersion, Current News Alerts and use the Optimal Portfolio Liquidation and Post-Trade functionality. Displays instrument information. Columns can be sorted by clicking on the Column Header. Assets can be typed or pasted in. The Portfolio View control enables the user to switch between the different views of a portfolio. Preferences enable the user to manipulate the application by various criteria. Offline mode as default: To set the default connection mode of GEA as offline, click on the box to the left so a check mark appears. Always retrieve Post-Trade data for executions: If selected, GEA will automatically retrieve data for Post-Trade as soon as executions are entered into a portfolio. If not selected, the user has to request Post-Trade data on demand. Include 'today' in price returns: If selected, GEA is enabled to use the latest price for analytics and charts in addition to the closing price from the previous day. Recalculation defaults to every: Select the default time between recalculations of portfolio data from the dropdown menu. List of Currencies to Load: To set the currencies loaded at start-up. Select a currency from the Available Currencies menu and click the Add button. The chosen currency appears in the Currencies to be loaded menu. List of Indices to Load: To set the indices loaded at start-up. Select an index from the Available indices menu and click the Add button. The chosen index appears in the Indices to be loaded menu. Subsequent Preference tabs enable the user to manipulate general settings, views and values for the application. Creating a Portfolio 1. To launch GEA, double-click on the icon from your desktop or start menu. 2. Edit the Connection Mode and Accept the Disclaimer. (Online provides live Bloomberg prices, Offline requires a previously saved Workspace.) 3. Create a new portfolio from File/New Portfolio, Ctrl & N, or use the New button. 4. Add the instruments: Portfolio data can be copied from Microsoft Excel and pasted into an existing or new portfolio. Notes: - Positions can be copied and pasted from Microsoft Excel. Acceptable Pre-Trade headers include shares, side & symbol. Running a Report 1. Access GEA Reports from the Side Panel or Toolbar. 2. Select required report. Report Data can also be sent to various output destinations such as Microsoft Excel or a PDF file. 4 2
