Valve M30x1,5 squeeze lever
Brass chrome, marked CE as directive 97/23/EC.
With safety valve and complete with a green safety
seal to improve the optical check from far.
Only a simple glance is enough to check if the
extinguisher has been tampered.
Manometer
Made in brass, German design by EBUR, 23 or 35
mm, the best quality available in the market.
Discharge hose
Highly flexible hose made in EPDM rubber with an
excellent resistance, manufactured from selected
synthetic materials, complete with metal discharge
nozzle.
Powder
14666 is filled with Tertia Ruhl dry powder,
MADE IN GERMANY.
The basic components are ammonium phosphate and
ammonium sulphate with special silicone additives
enabling easy discharge and avoiding any caking
process.
It is not corrosive, not abrasive, in dry conditions, not
toxic for humans and animals.

Caldic Furex, Ruhl, Orchidee, Kerr, Solvay, certified
ISO 9001 EN615 with superior quality raw materials.
Note: When refilling, do not mix other kind of powder

Best quality dry powder utilizes a specially fluidized and
siliconized Mono Ammonium Phosphate dry chemical (MAP)
certified EN615.
It chemically insulates Class A fires by melting at approximately
170C and coats surface to which it is applied.
It smothers and breaks the chain reaction of Class B fires and
will not conduct electricity back to the operator.
Excellent on class C fires.
Cheap, efficacy, multipurpose.
Dirty, it requires hard work for cleaning after use.

LIFEWATER is a special additive added to pure water which improves
performances in fires of class A such us, paper, textiles, woods.
Typically used in schools, hotels, hospitals.

The special nozzle discharges very fine drops of water, and has passed

coating PLASTCOAT which is guaranteed
10 years against corrosion.
Optional: cylinder stainless steel, antifreeze,

Various products can replace Halon 1301 forbidden as it severly damages the
ozone layer.
Most known is FM200

Identified as HFC227 from the international
standards as agent tor total flooding applications.
The product is safe for humans, ecologic, and compatible with the ozone
layer.
In fact, its ODP = 0 and NFPA classify it as safe for total flooding application
even in presence of humans when used in the proper concentation
suggested by the standards NFPA 2001 and further updates.
Concentration normally requested is 8%, means 633 gr/mc at 20C.
Does not leave residue, ideal to protect high value equipment such as in
museum, banks, EDP computer servers, switching rooms, archives, etc....
EPA, Environments Protection Agency and NFPA recognize it as one of most
efficient substitutes of halon 1301 available.
It is chemically very stable, and having a low ALT of 36 years it is accepted all
over the world.
ADVANTAGES versus INERT GASES.
After discharge in a total flooding application oxygen concentration remains
high, close to 19%, enabling easy breathing to persons with respiration
disease, comparied with inert gases which drop to 12%, which may cause
serious breathing problems.
The extinguishing time is less than 10 seconds, compared to more than 1
minute of inert gases.

The Kidde GX20 system comprises a versatile range of cylinders, valves
and related components which have been selected for use with
FM-200
and have been subject to stringent testing procedures.

Flexibility, quality and reliability make the Kidde GX20 range the worlds
finest in fire safety and the equipment carries third party listing through
FM Global and the Loss Prevention Certification Board, UL2166
compliance and Lloyds Register of Shipping.
KIDDE GX20 CYLINDERS
A wide range of cylinder sizes from 5 to 368 litres is available, offering a
choice of fill capacities to meet specific requirements and ensure
maximum economy in installation. Each cylinder is manufactured from
high strength alloy steel and both TPED and DOT approved cylinders are
available.
KIDDE GX20 VALVES
Valves are designed for optimum system performance, allowing pipe
sizes to be reduced and installation costs to be lowered.
They are manufactured from tough, corrosion-resistant brass under
stringent quality control standards. A pressure monitoring gauge and
optional supervisory pressure switches are provided for easy servicing.
Valves can be actuated by electric solenoid, pneumatic pressure, or local
manual release at the control head.
All related components from discharge nozzles to control heads are
designed to be compatible allowing a complete system to be configured
using FM Global and UL approved Kidde Fire Protection Equipment.
NOZZLES
Custom-designed nozzles are available with normal pipe sizes
from to 2, including 180 and 360 configurations.
ASSURED RELIABILITY
Kidde GX20 systems are designed to conform to NFPA 2001 and
ISO 14520 requirements. An empirically-verified computer program
is used to model two-phase agent flow and ensure that the correct

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRADE
1. PRICES and TERMS
The goods shall be purchased or quoted on these Terms and Conditions and
at prices prevailing at the order date. These Terms and Conditions shall
prevail unless varied in writing.
2. TERMS OF PAYMENT
1. Payment shall be either; by L/C irr and confirmed, or T/T in advance,
unless prior written agreement. Deposit is requested for non standard
materials.
2. If payment is not received by the due date, then the Company may refuse
delivery of further goods and stop further credit facilities.
3. The Customer will pay all collection and legal costs actually incurred by
the Company (including actual solicitor/client costs) that are related to the
collection or recovery of any unpaid account.
3. INTEREST
Payments not made on due date may, at the Companys sole discretion, bear
interest from the date of the invoice at the rate of 2% per month until paid (or
at such rate as shall be in force at the date of purchase).
4. CREDIT LIMIT
The Company may cancel orders in respect of any undelivered goods or may
with hold delivery of future orders if the Customers account exceeds the
credit terms set by the Company.
5. NON RECEIPT OR DAMAGE
All goods must be checked on receipt as to quantity and/or damage.
Discrepancies on quantity, weight or damage must be reported by the
Customer to both the Carrier and the Company within 3 days from the date of
delivery, otherwise the claim may be rejected by the Company. The Company
will replace goods covered by approved claims, and transport cost at same
conditions of original order.
6. RETURNED GOODS
No goods shall be returned for credit without the Companys prior written
approval.
7. CLAIMS
All claims regarding goods supplied or allegations regarding goods not
having been supplied as per invoice/packing slip shall be made within 3 days
of delivery of the goods and in the absence of any claim the Customer shall
be deemed to have accepted the terms of the invoices as correct and accept
that the goods specified are as delivered.
8. CLAIMS RETURN POLICY
1. Goods supplied in error are returnable for replacement or credit, providing
the error is notified to the Company in writing within 3 days of delivery.
2. No claim will be recognised unless the goods are returned with the
original invoice/packing slip, or the number and date of the invoice/
packing slip are enclosed.
3. No claim will be recognised unless the returned goods are in sealeable,
undamaged and clean condition, and in the original packaging, complete
with detachable accessories and instruction manuals.
4. The Company may at its sole discretion accept the return of goods
surplus to the requirements of the Customer in which event the credit may
not exceed 75% of the original amount charged for those goods.
9. RISK AND DELIVERY
Risk passes to the Customer on delivery of the goods. Delivery shall be
deemed complete when the Company gives possession of the goods directly
to the Customer, or possession of the goods is given to a carrier, courier, or
other bailee for the purposes of transmission to the Customer.
10. WARRANTY
1. Except as provided in the European Communities rules, and by the
manufacturers written warranty (if any) the Company makes no
representation, condition, warranty or promise, express or implied, in
respect of goods supplied to the Customer.
2. Except as provided in the European Communities rules, the Company
shall not be liable for any loss of any kind whatsoever suffered by the
Customer as a result of a breach of any of the Companys obligations
regarding the supply of goods or any negligence on the part of the
Company, its servants, agents or contractors, nor shall the Company be
liable for any loss damage or injury caused to the Customers servants,
agents, contractors, customers or other persons. The Customer will
indemnify the Company against any claim by such persons.
3. The liability of the Company arising from a breach of any of the
Companys obligations regarding the supply of goods, or from any
negligence on the Companys part, its servants, agents or contractors
will be limited to damages which will not exceed the price of the goods
supplied.
4. Where the Customer purchases goods for a particular purpose, it is the
Customers sole responsibility to ensure that the goods will be suitable
for the Customers purpose, and the Company shall have no liability
whatsoever in the event that the goods are not fit for the Customers
purpose, notwithstanding any statements made to the Customer by the
Company or its officers or employees.
11. OWNERSHIP
1. Ownership reserved: It is expressly agreed that ownership is reserved
and legal and equitable title to and property in all goods supplied by the
Company is and remains vested in the Company until payment in full
has been received by the Company.
2. Recovery of Goods: The Company may at any time before sale of any
goods by the Customer recover and take repossession of such goods
and otherwise exercise in relation to those goods any of its rights where
those rights are also covered by common law, contract, statute or in any
other way.
12. PRIVACY ACT
1. The Customer authorises the Company:
(a) To collect and retain and use personal information about the Customer
(the information contained in this document) for the following:
(i) Assessing the Customers credit worthiness.
(ii) Administering the financing, whether directly or indirectly of theCustomer
contracts(s) and enforcing the Companys rights thereunder.
(iii) Marketing goods and services provided by the Company.
(b) To provide the information:
(i) to any person for the foregoing purposes
(ii) to employees and agents of the Company and any other person, in the
ordinary course of business, for any of the foregoing purposes
(iii) to credit agencies for the purpose of maintaining effective credit records.
2. The Customer acknowledges:
(a) that the information is held by the Company at the address specified in
this document, notwithstanding that it may also be held elsewhere by the
Company and other persons for the purposes described above.
(b) that where information can be readily retrieved the Customer shall have
access to it, the right to request correction and the right to be notified of
action taken in response to any such request, subject to payment of
any reasonable charge.
(c) that the aforesaid authorisations are irrevocable.
13. PERSONAL GUARANTEE OF COMPANY DIRECTORS OR TRUSTEES
If the Customer is a company or trust, the director(s) or trustee(s) signing
this contract, in consideration of the Company agreeing to supply goods and
grant credit to the Customer at their request, also sign this contract in their
personal capacity and jointly and severally personally undertake as principal
debtors to the Company the payment of any and all monies now or hereafter
owed by the Customer to the Company and indemnify the Company against
non-payment by the Customer.
Any personal liability of a signatory here to shall not exclude the Customer
in any way whatsoever from the liabilities and obligations contained in this
contract.
The signatories and Customer shall be jointly and severally liable under the
terms and conditions of this contract and for payment of all sums due
hereunder.
14. VALIDITY.
If a term or condition herein is held by a Court to be unenforceable then such
term or condition shall be severed from all other terms and conditions
without affecting the enforceability of those other terms and conditions.
15 Jurisdiction:
Any dispute concerning these conditions will be competent the court of
Milan Italy.
16: Solve et repete
Buyer expressely waives the right to plead any exceptions to avoid or delay
payment of the debit under these terms, untill full payment in full in favour of
the supplier.

Extinguishant Advantages Disadvantages Extinguishing method
Water fire extinguishers are good for tackling class A
fires involving burning wood, paper, textiles and
general combustible materials. They dont contain any
harmful chemicals or residual agents and they are
kind to the environment. As water fire extinguishers
are cleaner than other extinguishing agents, they are a
good choice for assisting in the emergency egress
from a building when cited along escape routes where,
for example, a powder extinguishing agent could enter
the eyes of the user due to forward movement into the
powder residue or other factor.
The downside is that they are strictly for class A use
only and can make the fire worse or be very
dangerous to the user if used on the other classes of
fire.
For example, water conducts electricity and thereby
presents a risk of electrocution to the user, so this type
of fire extinguisher must never be used on live
electrical equipment.
In addition, burning oils and water most definitely do
not mix and can create an explosion or fireball!
Water fire extinguishers work by
cooling and quenching a fire, thereby
absorbing heat from the fire and
reducing its temperature below the
critical level needed to sustain the fire.
ABC Dry Powder fire extinguishers are a
multi-purpose and highly effective extinguishing
agent, making them an excellent choice for use in
most circumstances.
They are ideal for use in warehouse and factory
environments and other areas where the considerable
advantages offered by their effectiveness and
multi-purpose application outweigh the disadvantage
of their residual properties.
The downside is that they leave a fine powder residue,
making the clean-up process of small fires more
problematical, and causing damage to sensitive
electronic equipment that the mono-ammonium
phosphate extinguishing agent comes into contact
with.
For this reason, they should not be used in
contaminant-sensitive environments such as offices
or food preparation areas, etc.
ABC Dry Powder fire extinguishers
work by fusing particles of blended
ammonium phosphate and ammonium
sulphate powder over a fire to form a
barrier that starves it of oxygen and
prevents
re-ignition, and acts to knockdown a
fire.
Foam extinguishers are especially suitable for class B
flammable liquid fires such as paints, thinners, petrol,
and oil spills. Foam is also very effective on class A
fires such as man-made furnishings. They have a
higher class A fire rating per litre than their water
counterparts and can therefore be more lightweight
and portable, making them a good choice for an office
fire extinguisher.
Cannot be used on domestic chip or fat pan fires. Foam fire extinguishers work by
covering a fire with a film of foam that
starves it of oxygen and prevents re-
ignition, in addition to penetrating
absorbent materials and having cooling
and quenching properties due to the
water content.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers are safe for
use on electrical appliances and are non-residual,
making them ideal for use in office environments
where sensitive computer equipment would be
damaged by using other types of extinguishing agents.
As CO2 does not cool the fire very well, there is a risk
of the fire re-igniting.
Fumes from CO2 extinguishers can be harmful if used
in confined spaces.
The horn freezes during discharge, so care must be
taken not to touch it.
CO2 fire extinguishers work by
displacing oxygen at the source of the
fire with an inert gas, thereby starving
the fire of the oxygen that is essential to
the combustion process.
They also have some cooling properties.
Clean agent (Clean Green, Clean Blue, Foxer S) fire
extinguishers are safe for use on electrical appliances
and are non-residual, making them ideal for use in
office environments where sensitive computer
equipment would be damaged by using other types of
extinguishing agents.
Do not leave residues, and is safe for humans and
animals.
Rapid vaporization of the gas they have to be limited
outdoor.
Costs more than most extinguishing agent.
Clean Agent fire extinguishers work by
displacing oxygen at the source of the
fire with an inert gas, thereby starving
the fire of the oxygen that is essential
to the combustion process.
Maintenance
There does not exist one Standard valid in all European countries.
Italian Standard 9994 is the most restrictive rule existing in Europe,
requiring service every 6 months, while in most countries it is once
per year, or every 2 years. Here below are some good suggestions:
Survelliance
Visual inspection of correct position and installation: every day.
Maintenance
Must be made by an authorized technician. Series of control and
maintenance with purpose to ensure the correct functionality of the
extinguisher. Inspection of pressure, weight, integrity of all components.
Refilling
Must be made when the extinguisher has been used even partially.
When the gauge shows low pressure, and needle is in the red area, or
weight is less than recorded in the service card.
Disposal
Must be made according to regulations in the customers own country.
CO2 carbon dioxide and Halogenated FOXER do NOT need to be
changed, they never change their properties when stored in the fire
extinguisher.
Dry powder: in England it is a requirement to make a discharge test
every 5 years. In Germany discharge, check for impurities or caking, and
refill after filtering, these are requirements different in other countries.
A good rule is check at least every 2 years. If the powder appears fine,
with a good fluidity and smoothness, without any caking, that means its
chemical and physical properties are intact, and it is still good to be used.
Generally a good powder manufactured and approved according to
EN615, kept in sealed fire extinguishers, within temperature
-30C + 60C will not change its chemical and physical properties.
Replace the powder if it starts caking and has low fluidity.
Foam: when it is a premixed solution it is a good rule to change and
recharge with fresh solution every 3 / 5 years, check the instructions of
the manufacturer.
When the foam compound is sealed in a plastic cartridge and not in
contact with sunlight and water, validity is at least 5 years. Follow the
instructions of the manufacturer.
Test: Hydraulic test of cylinder, the rule valid in all Europe is every 12
years. For cylinders produced with CE PED mark. CO2 cylinders with CE
PED or T-PED mark every 10 years.
Maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers
The choice of portable fire extinguishers should be determined according
to class of fire and the level of risk in the workplace.
The number and capacity of portable fire extinguishers depends on the
risk, and laws in force in respective countries.
Generally risk can be: Low, Medium, High.
The chart below is a good guide, but the law in force in the respective
countries may be significantly different.
Install at least 1 fire extinguisher in each floor of the house.
Always install in a visible position and easy to be used, fixed in a wall, with
a sign on top.
Distance between extinguisher should never more than 30 mt.
Choice and number of extinguishers
A good suggestion: only a very good trained operator can achieve the rate
of the fire class shown in the extinguisher. It is suggested to always buy a
bigger size, with higher quality raw material.
Unless used simultaneously, by 2 operators, 2 extinguishers of 6 kg, have
less result than 1 of 12 kg. The medium and high risk areas, trolley and or
foam mobile units, must be considered.
