State objectives
1. Students will be divided into 3 groups. The groups will
research information and collect pictures on the landmarks
of Guam using the Internet.
2. Students will use information found online and create a
brochure using Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Word.
3. Students will create a power point on landmarks using
Keynote and present information to class using a projector
and laptop.

• Teacher will check if all materials are working properly
such as the computers and the Internet a day before each
lesson.

• Ensure that all materials are ready for the class a day
before.

• Teacher will check if environment is clean and has not
many distractions for the children.

• Teacher will tell class the lesson they will be focusing on
for two days.
• Teacher will explain the rules and grading system.
Require learner participation
Day 1:
1. Students will be in groups of 3 consisting of the north, the
central, and the south of Guam. Each group is responsible
for choosing 6 landmarks in that area.
2. The groups will research landmarks using the Internet or
they can call places around Guam using the phonebook and
class phone. In their groups students will need to write a
paragraph about each landmark and find pictures of each
landmark. Paragraph must include, location, significance,
and three facts.
3. When Finished collecting information, the groups will
create a brochure containing each landmark using
Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher.
4. Teacher will assist students in printing out brochures to
handout to classmates after presentation.

Day 2:
1. In groups they will create a presentation using Keynote
about the landmarks.
2. The groups will present landmarks using an LCD projector.
*Speech Impaired student will have an option if he wants to
use the Speech tool in MAC to present his part.
Evaluate and revise
Total Points = 100pts.
1. Information on Landmarks is correct and consists of the
location, significance and three facts. (25 points)
2. Brochure has a title, all 6 landmarks including information
and picture, displays creativity by including borders or clip
art. (25 points)
3. Keynote Presentation consists all 6 landmarks including
information and pictures. PowerPoint must have a least 2
animations and sounds. (25 points)
4. Everyone must present. Teacher will evaluate on eye
contact, enthusiasm, gestures, and time frame. (25 points)
