CONTENT- OF MODIFICATION KIT
This manual covers several modification kits for the OPW nozzle family. In order to describe each
nozzle type clearly we include in this manual several tables to help the installer to identify each nozzle
type properly with its P/N.
The tables are

supplied materials that you re+uire for the installation.

1. On a clean flat surface* open the "odification #it and lay out the components.
2. ,heck your #it contents a%ainst the list of components accordin% the swivel type* as described in
the tables.

1. -witch off the dispenser.
2. 3ntie sli%htly the hose on pump side.
3. 4mpty the hose contents into an appropriate container.
4. 5etach the hose from the nozzle. #eep the nozzle filter.
5. In OPW67 type remove the ori%inal plastic cover from the nozzle. .eave in place the cover in
the other types.
6. 5etach the ori%inal swivel from the hose8 discard the ori%inal swivel.&49cept for the breakaway
nozzles in which it is part of the breakaway mechanism(.
7. 5etach the hose from the pump.
IN-ERT T0E TRAN-CEI4E CA8LE INTO T0E 0O-E
1. 3nwind the Transceive ,able &:0( and carefully inspect the Teflon outer insulation for holes or
breaks.
2. Thread the Transceive ,able throu%h the hose.
3. Position the :;$meter cable len%th so that

Normal speed pump < : meter of slack e9posed at nozzle end/ ' meters of slack inside
hose. 2emainder of cable e9posed at pump side.
7i%h speed pump < : meter of slack e9posed at nozzle end/ :/' meter of slack inside hose.
2emainder of cable e9posed at pump side. Note The flow of the hi%h$speed pump will
force the cable to bunch at the aperture of the nozzle if there is too much slack inside the
hose.
CONNECTIN. T0E 0O-E ADAPTER 5P3MP -IDE<
1. 2emove the 7ose !dapter cover
Turn the !llen screw clockwise to loosen the cover.
2emove the cover and thread it on to the hose.
2. Thread the cable throu%h the =cable path> openin% in the 7ose !dapter &:6(.
3. !ttach the 7ose !dapter to the hose.

4. On the hose side* thread the followin% components onto the e9posed portion of the Transceive
,able* in this order
)ronze Nipple &:( 49ist in some of the kit.

5. Work the O$rin% -eal and )ronze Washer into the base of the screw hole.
6. -crew the ?land into the !dapter. Pay attention to do it not too ti%ht.
7. On the pump side* thread the ,onduit Nipple &:1( *if in the kit* lon%$side out onto the cable. Then
position the nipple so that the %roove in the nipple fits into the e9it aperture in the 7ose !dapter.
8. 2eplace the cover and ti%hten. &Turn the !llen screw counter$clockwise.( .eave under the cover
about :@cm cable spare to make later on the re+uired connection.
CONNECTIN. T0E -WI4EL 55<
1. Aerify that two =O$rin%s seal> are pre$installed on the -wivel < one on each of two sets of threads.

2. -ome of the swivels have a pre installed sprin% c clip* this sprin% is to hold the cover after
installation. 2emove the sprin% clip from the swivel and hold it to reinstall it later.
,$clip on swivel
3. Thread the -wivel ,over onto the hose. ,orrect position !llen screws towards the nozzle.
4. ,arefully thread a short part of the cable throu%h the =cable path> openin% in the -wivel &@(.
5. Thread the followin% components onto the e9posed portion of the Transceive ,able* in this
order
)ronze Nipple &:( &In some -wivels it is part of the swivel set(

6. Work the )ronze Nipple &If not part of the swivel set(* O$rin% seal and )ronze Washer into the
base of the screw hole.
7. -li%htly screw the ?land into the -wivel. Do not ti%hten.
8. ,arefully pull the rest of the cable to its final position.
9. 3se ' crescent wrenches to ti%hten the -wivel to the hose.
Warning % &n internal pin limits the rotation of the '(i)el mechanism. To a)oid brea*in+ the pin,
place one (rench on the nut that connects the hose to the '(i)el and the second (rench on the shaped
ed+es of the base of the '(i)el +roo)es. Do not use the rounded interior dis* in this operation-

:;. Birmly ti%hten the ?land into the -wivel. Pay attention to do it not too
ti%ht.
IN-TALLIN. T0E COIL 3NIT 57< ONTO T0E NOZZLE
1. Install the ,able Protective Pipe &if supply with the kit(
3se a slotted screwdriver to remove the screw that fasten the spout to the nozzle. Bor
OPW::! Cust sli%htly release the pin and attach the cable protective pipe to it.
Position the ,able Protective Pipe over the screw hole with the pipe runnin% back
towards the hose alon% the nozzle handle.
3se the same screw to ti%hten the ,able Protective Pipe to the nozzle.
2. Install the ,oil 3nit &49cept for OPW::! D OPW::B and Narrow )obine(.

Position the ,oil 7ousin% !dapter on the nozzle spout so that the =openin%> is up and two screw$niches
face the spout.
Thread the ,oil 3nit onto the spout < wide end towards the handle < pushin% it all the
way to the end.
Thread the ,oil cable throu%h the ,oil Protective Pipe &If supply(.
3se the two %uide keys &male and female( to ali%n the ,oil 7ousin% onto the !dapter.
"ake sure the lip of the ,oil 3nit and the lip of the !dapter form a level surface.
Position the ,oil 3nit and !dapter so that the ,oil wire runs alon% the top of the nozzle or
alon% its left side.
3se your Phillips screwdriver to ti%hten two screws that hold the ,oil 3nit to the nozzle.

3. Bor the OPW::! Nozzle Type Install the ,oil 3nit as follows
,onnect the metal unit &P/N 1:E0:00E; or P/N 1:E0:00E: as supply( to the housin%
adapter &E( usin% !llen screw P/N 1:@':00;; half the way.
Insert the housin% adapter with the metal attached to it* to the nozzle spout.
Take out the screw that fastenin% the spout to the nozzle. Insert the metal ed%e to the
notch under the screw.
-crew back the spout screw and apply to it loctite$'/0. Ti%ht the adapter usin% an !llen
screw.
!ssemble the ,oil unit &6( on top the housin% adapter* ali%n the cable properly and
underneath the nozzle cover.
Ti%hten the ,oil 3nit to the housin% by the two screws &1(.
4. Bor the OPW::B Nozzle Type Install the ,oil 3nit as follows

Take out the Aapor 2ecovery 2ubber !dapter from the nozzle.

Open the bobine throu%h its two !llen screws &3se standard !llen key / mm(. Take out the adapter in a
dia%onal movement so not to dama%e the coil. -ee picture 0.

The new Narrow )obine set has / adapters* from which one is preinstalled in the unit. The installer can
choose one out of the four adapters for the appropriate nozzle size. It is very important to choose the
appropriate size* so not to cause any mechanical and visual deformation of the coil unit while installed on
the nozzle* and formin% an appropriate and uniform mechanical ti%ht and stren%th between the assembled
coil unit with the adapter and the nozzle.
Bollowin% is a recommended table helpin% the installer to choose the appropriate size.

Position the ,oil 3nit so that the ,oil wire runs alon% the left side of the nozzle.
3se an !llen screwdriver to ti%hten properly the two screws that hold the ,oil 3nit to the
nozzle.

1. "ake sure the -wivel ,over &F( is positioned on the hose with the !llen screws facin% the
-wivel.
2. Place the nozzle filter back in its position.
3. !ttach the nozzle to the -wivel
7old the nozzle in a suitable clamp. 3se a sin%le ade+uate crescent wrench placed on the
shaped ed%es in the indentation between the rounded disks of the -wivel.

Birmly ti%hten the nozzle to the -wivel.
Warning% &n internal pin limits the rotation of the '(i)el mechanism. To a)oid brea*in+ the pin, place

b# +rippin+ the handle of the nozzle. Do not use the shaped ed+es ad/acent to the hose in this

N !li%n the stripped ends of the ,oil wire and the Transceive ,able < polarity is not
important. 3se the ' insulated ,rimpin% -leeves &:'( to Coin the wires. 3se your
crimpin% tool. 5o not use cutters or pliers to crimp the connections.
5. Install the -wivel ,over
Push the -wivel ,over &F( %ently over the pipe* coverin% the crimp connectors.
Position the cover so that the end of the ,oil Protective Pipe fits into the cutout slot in the
cover and the cover does not dama%e the cable. Push the cover all the way towards the
nozzle.
Bor swivels that have c clip sprin%* reinstall the c clip back on top of the swivels.

6. !pply a small drop of .octite '/0 to each of the !llen screws in the -wivel cover. Then ti%hten
the cover usin% the !llen key provided with the kit.
7. 3se cable tie to ti%hten the ,oil ,able to the nozzle* whenever the cable is loose.

!li%n the stripped ends of the Transceive ,able from the hose and the transceive cable
to the pump< polarity is not important.

not use cutters or pliers to crimp the connections.
3. Thread the Transceive ,able slack throu%h the Ble9ible ,onduit &:E( and the Termination &':( to
protect the Transceive ,able. ,hoose the ri%ht len%th of the re+uired conduit* as described for
item :E.
4. Thread the Transceive ,able throu%h the fittin% &';( and install the fittin% to the pump. "ake
sure that the fle9ible conduit %ets a proper %roundin%. -tore some of the slack cable inside the
pump.

1. The instruction for the OPW nozzles with breakaway is mostly the same as described without the
breakaway unit. The breakaway is another unit part of the system and not part of the kit. The
breakaway unit main task is to protect from the %asoline to pure out when the hose is pulled up to
stron%.
2. The breakaway can be placed in several confi%urations* Ne9t to the nozzle* in the middle of the
hose or ne9t to the pump.
3. The transceive cable can not pass throu%h this unit and so there is terminals to detour it. There is a
set of adapters one in each side of the breakaway that the cable pass throu%h them to detour the
breakaway. The cable connection is done e9ternal to the breakaway ne9t to the hose adapters*
usin% the cable terminals within this kit.

4. The kit 1:E0:/6EE is used for breakaway system* placed in the middle of the hose.
5. Installation of the coil and transceive cable at the nozzle with breakaway will be done in
two sta%es.
!t the first sta%e complete installation of the coil and the transceive cable at the nozzle side followin%
the instruction of the manual &at this sta%e instead of connectin% the hose adapter to the pump* ti%hten it
to the breakaway( with a cable slack of :@cm*out of the hose adapter.
-econd sta%e will be installation of the transceive cable from the breakaway to the pump as followin%

Turn the !llen screw clockwise to loosen the cover.

the nipple so that the %roove in the nipple fits into the e9it aperture in the 7ose !dapter.
2eplace the cover and ti%hten. &Turn the !llen screw counter$clockwise.( .eave under the cover about
:@cm cable spare to make later the re+uired connection.

The transceiver cable can not pass throu%h the breakaway* so the cable detour it. There is a set of adapters
one in each side of the breakaway that the cable pass throu%h them to detour the breakaway. The cable
connection is done e9ternal to the breakaway ne9t to the hose adapters* usin% the cable terminals within
this kit.
,onnect the terminals over the break away* the male terminals p/n 1:@6;;0:@ in the nozzle side and
female terminals p/n 1:@6;;0:/ in the pump side. Ti%ht with plastic cable tie both sides as shown in
the pictures.

MODIFICATION KIT FOR OPW NOZZLE- 4APORRECO4ER!
1. The instruction for the OPW nozzles with vapor$recovery is mostly the same as described for the
re%ular unit. The vapor$recovery system has an inner part throu%h which the vapor is bein%
collected.
2. The transceive cable has two possibilities to run alon% the hose. Birst throu%h the inner part of the
hose and second between the inner and the outer hoses. In order to protect the cable Cacket it is
re+uired to pass the cable throu%h the inner part.
3. ,onnectin% the hose adapter/swivel &both sides(
*OT-? !n some no@@le equipment the two sets of hose adapters are not interchangeable. The
coned part on the no@@le side is made to accept a larger hose si@e 5the side of the hose with the
anti-#in# sleeve9. The coned part of the adapter for the pump side is made smaller. +se the
following instructions to install both sides.
*OT-? This modification #it may include nipples not needed for your specific installation.
(1) Thread the cable throu%h the end hose adapter/swivel &two parts(.
(2) -lide the correct coned part of the adapter onto both sides.
(3) Brom the old adapters transfer the O$rin%s onto the inside of the threaded part of the
hose adapter. &The end of the hose will seal a%ainst this O$rin%(.

(4) Insert the dual hose &with coned part attached( throu%h the second part of the
adapter and lock ti%htly usin% the ,$clip aside earlier to secure the adapter to the
hoses.
(5) Ti%hten the three !llen screws securin% the adapter to the outer hose.
(6) "ake sure the two O$2in%s on the inner hose are not dama%ed.
(7) -lide the e9tender pipe &from the kit( onto the O$2in%s.
IN-PECTIN. T0E IN-TALLATION
1. ,heck the Nozzle installation. "ake sure that the ,oil 3nit is secured under the Plastic ,over.
2. "ake sure that the Protective Pipe is fastened on both ends.
3. Test the -wivel to rotate only one complete turn.
4. Test the -wivel to be in a center position when the nozzle is in the pump.
5. Inspect the 7ose !dapter installation. "ake sure the wire is protected all the way into the pump.
6. Operate the Pump for at least :@ minutes. "ake sure there are no leaka%e from the -wivel* 7ose
!dapter and all the connections alon% the 7ose.
