Who is Moses

Introduction
Glory be to the God Almighty who has taken us through our studies on Eschatology. The
blessings, the lessons and the warnings will surely have great impact in our walk with
God. Today, another series of study shall commence on an important ible
character!"Moses The #hild of $estiny". We shall begin by studying whom Moses was.
We shall talk about his grand family, birth and upbringing. May we be greatly blessed as
we study in %esus& name.
The beginning
%acob had twelve male children. %oseph being the most loved one was hated by his
brothers. Therefore, envy drove his brothers mad, they sold him to slavery and found his
way to the land of Egypt. Through mi'ed fortune and misfortune, God he became the
(rime Minister in Egypt and controlled food supply during a severe global famine. y
divine arrangement, %oseph rescued his family from the famine and settled them in Egypt.
The family of %acob multiplied and became numerous in Egypt until a strange pharaoh
ruled who afflicted them greatly. )sraelites lived for four hundred and thirty years in
Egypt.

Amram and %ochebed gave birth to a baby boy during the time )sraelites agony in Egypt.
ecause (haraoh had ordered all male children to be killed, the parents hid the boy until
the mother dropped him by the riverside for the fear of being caught. ut the boy was
divinely rescued and nourished to adulthood by (haraoh&s daughter *Act.+,-./. 0he
named him M10E0. Aaron and Miriam were his elder brother and sister respectively

Moses grew up in the Egyptian royal palace as the adopted son of pharaohs& daughter.
2owever, he was uncomfortable with the ill treatment meted unto the )sraelites and tried
to fight against the oppression. 2e was later called from self imposed e'ile by God to
lead the children of )srael out of Egypt. y the power of God, 2e secured freedom for the
)sraelite and led them on the way to the (romised 3and. Moses became a strong prophet
and the leader to the )sraelites in the wilderness. God gave him the 3aws and statutes for
the )sraelites. 2e was notable for his passion and intercession for his people. After his
death before entering the (romised 3and, %oshua the son of 4un succeeded him and took
)sraelites to the (romised 3and.

orn in time of distress, raised in the home he never liked, despised and betrayed by the
people he fought for, shared power with arrogant brother and sister, lead a very stubborn
people, against all odds, M10E0 became one of the greatest prophets of relevance
through many generations till date. )f we are loyal and obedient to God, our greatness is
