Horse Race / Shootout
Thursday, August 7 & August 21 at 5:00 PM
Cost: $5 per person
This event is a great time! Its almost full contact golf as
your competitors egg you on, sometimes in your back-
swing.
Two-person teams alternate their shots while the high-
scoring teams are eliminated on each hole until there
are only three teams left. Out of those three teams, we
will award a Win (1st Place), Place (2nd Place), and
a Show (3rd Place). Serious golfers should leave their
sensitive side at home for this event; we like to have fun!

Suzie Fisher & Greg Keys
Suzie and Greg are both natives of
Colorado so the move to Arizona was a
big adventure and a nice change from
shoveling snow. They originally met in
Littleton, Colorado at the YMCA.
Greg attended college in Colorado,
frst at the University of Northern
Colorado where he played basketball,
then at the University of Southern
Colorado where he played golf. He
currently works for a Canadian
company.
Suzie attended school at Mesa College in Grand Junction. She has four
children and previously worked for the Denver Broncos physical therapy
division. She currently works at the Sage Recreation Center in the ftness
area.
In August of 2012 they made the move to Sun City Festival. The variety of
activities and active lifestyle was very appealing to them. Previously, Greg
had been very active in racquetball but now he and Suzie stay active with
the Pickleball Club. They also keep a boat at Lake Powell and try to get there
fve to six times a year to enjoy the area and relax. Within this past year, they
added Charlie, a beautiful golden retreiver to their household.

In a climate like Arizona, many people spend a lot of time under the intense
rays of the sun. Sun exposure greatly increases the risk of skin cancer. More
than one million cases of skin cancer occur in the United States each year.
Approximately 11,000 people died from skin cancer in 2007. About 8,000 of
those deaths are from melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer. Most
skin cancers, however, are non-melanoma.
Risk factors for skin cancer include:
Unprotected and/or excessive
exposure to ultraviolet radiation
Fair complexion
Family history
Severe sunburn as a child
Multiple or atypical moles
Other factors can make a person more susceptible to skin damage. Skin tone,
living at a high altitude (ultraviolet radiation increases 4-5% for every 1,000
feet above sea level) and many medications increase risk of skin damage.
Skin cancer is highly treatable and curable when detected early. Some signs
and symptoms of skin cancer are:
Skin change, especially in the size and color of a mole or other darkly
pigmented spot
Scaliness, oozing, bleeding or change in the appearance of a bump
Change in sensation, itchiness, tenderness or pain on the skin
The good news is that we can signifcantly lower the risk of
skin cancer and skin damage by taking just a few simple
steps. Four simple steps you can take to help protect your-
self from the harmful sun: 1) wear a shirt/cover your skin,
2) use plenty of sunscreen, 3) wear a hat to shade the head
and face, and 4) use sunglasses which provide ultraviolet
protection. In addition:
Avoid the sun between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
Seek shade when possible
Follow these guidelines even on cloudy days
Be sure to apply sunscreen according to the directions on the label and use
generous amounts. More information is available at the website of the
