Simple Mudras for Good Health

Mudra is a gesture or position , usually of the hands used in Yoga, that locks and guides energy
flow and reflexes to the brain. By curling, crossing, stretching and touching the fingers and
hands, we can talk to the body and mind as each area of the hand reflexes to a certain part of the
mind or body.
Here are simple Mudras to provide good health. Each one focuses on specific part of the body.
1. Akash Mudra For Ear Problem

2. Dhyan Mudra - For Concentration power, Free from Depression, and for Mind related
problems

3. Hraday Mudra: For Asthma, and Respiration related diseases

4. Jal Mudra : This is for Blood purifier and all skin diseases

5. Ling Mudra: Headache, Fever etc


6. Pachan Mudra: Do only after taking food. It is for Digestive system.


7. Pran mudra: Eye problems, Nervous problems and it also charge all parts of the body.

8. Prithvi Mudra: For peace of mind, Body active etc.

9. Surya Mudra: Cholesterol etc.


10. Vayu Mudra: For joint pains, stomach problems etc.


Practice this Mudra's at least 3 to 5 min every day for lifetime. Both hands have been put closer for Illustration,,
but in practice no need to put your hands closer.

Mudras are the gestures of hand and fingers.The Mudras are believed to have curative effects
for diseases.
Mudras are used in Natya Sastra and Tatvayoga Sastra. Mudras are systematic gestures of hand and fingers.In Natya
Sastra they are used as means of communication to convey the inner feelings and expressions.The Mudras are also
believed to have curative effect on the body.This is mentioned in Tatvayoga.
The Five Elements

The living body is made up of five elements. They are Fire, Wind, Ether , Earth and Water. Whenever imbalances of these
elements occur, the immunity system gets disrupted and diseases are caused. The Mudras help in making up for the
deficiencies of these elements by connecting one part of the body with the other.

The five elements are represented by the five fingers as given below

Thumb : Fire
Index Finger : Wind
Middle Finger : Ether
Ring Finger : Earth
Little Finger : Water

A finger representing an element when brought into contact with the thumb, then the particular element is balanced.
The disease caused by the imbalance of that element is cured.
Gyan Mudra

The tip of the Index finger and Thumb are gently joined together. The other three fingers are stretched straight,
touching each other.

This Mudra is useful in the case of mental ailments. It gives mental peace, concentration and sharpens the brain.
Apaan Mudra
Join the tip of the Thumb with the tip of the middle and ring finger. Keep the other two fingers straight

This Mudra helps when urine is obstructed. It helps to clear the body of waste matter from eyes , ears, nose and mouth
etc., Constipation is also reduced by practicing this Mudra
Shoonya Mudra
The middle finger is bent and pressed on the base of the Thumb. The Thumb is placed on the middle finger and the
other fingers are stretched straight.


Curative Benefits
This mudra is good for the problems related to the ear.
Pran Mudra
Join the tip of the thumb with the tips of little and ring finger. Stretch the other fingers and keep them straight

Prithvi Mudra
Join the tip of the thumb and ring finger. Keep the other fingers stretched and straight

Practice of this Mudra makes the body sturdy.
Surya Mudra
Keep the tip of the ring finger at the base of the thumb, with thumb gently pressing on it. Stretch the other fingers
straight.

Varun Mudra
Join the tip of the thumb with the tip of the little finger .Keep the other fingers stretched and straight.



Benefits
Gives freshness to the body. Improves the deteriorated quality of the blood due to shortage of water
Vayu Mudra
Press the Index finger on the base of the thumb. Put the thumb over the index finger gently. Keep the other fingers
straight and stretched.

Helpful in the case of Arthritis
Mrit Sanjivini Mudra
Keep the tip of the index finger at the base of the thumb. Join the tips of the thumb, middle and ring fingers. Keep the
little finger straight




Curative Benifit

In the case of severe heart attack, this is supposed to be a life-giving Mudra. It is supposed to provide instant relief
within a few seconds.

This is very useful for Cardiac patients. It is supposed to act as a first aid for heart Problems

Mudras are to be learned from a Guru to practice them a proper way.

Mudras can be practiced any time of the day.They can be practiced with one hand also , if it is not possible to use both
hands. For example - while working.
