! We greeted the client good morning and the client responded with a greeting and a smile. ! He was not able to take a bath since he was helping in the kitchen early in the morning as claimed. ! We asked how was his sleep last night and he verbalized, Wala ko katulog maayo gabie. ! We further asked him what happened last night that caused the interruption of his sleep and he responded, Ning inom ko ug tambal mga alas-6 sa hapon nya nakatulog ko gikan alas-7 hangtud alas-12:30. Nya nakabalik ko ug katulog mga ala-1 dayun nakamata ko mga alas-5 sa buntag. ! We asked his schedule of taking the medication and he claimed that he has been taking it before bedtime and that he doesnt have any medications in the morning. ! We instructed the patient that only one of us will interview him and the other will just observed the interaction so he wont have hard time responding to us. We also clarified to him that we would be observing the interaction as part of our evaluation. ! Furthermore, we informed the client that the said interaction was the continuation of last weeks conversation. ! Asked about his thoughts and feelings at the time being and he responded, Ang ako rang ikasulti sa akong kaugalingon kay nalipay kog dako nga naa nay ning renovate aning Talay Mental Rehabilitation Center. He was planning to stay in the rehabilitation center for 30 years more and volunteered to be a driver of the ambulance that will soon be given by the government to Talay Mental Rehabilitation Center. He wanted to offer his service while staying in the facility for 30 years. ! Asked his thoughts on why he wants to stay for 30 years more and he replied, Ganahan ra ko na diri ko mupuyo kay gumikan nga ang akoang mga ginikanan, amahan nako ug inahan, patay na nya ang akoang mga igsuon naminyo na tanan unya gusto nako sa akoang paningkamot na makita ra unya sa akoang anak, sa umaabot na panahon na mubangon sa akoang pangalan, nga mudala sa akoang pangalan nga mutan-aw sa akoang mga nabuhat ug nahimo ining lugaraha. ! He was prepared to sacrifice his time to offer his service to the facility so he can be useful in the said facility. ! He verbalized that it is required that a person has a mental stability before he can drive again. ! Ate Bona put emphasis on the adherence of his medications so he can recover to his full potential ! Asked how much is his medication and he responded that Chlorpromazine costs 10 pesos and he needs to consume 1 tablet per day. He needed 300 pesos every month if he will buy them. And he needs an injectable medication that costs 125 pesos per month (1/2 cc) plus their boat fare to Lapu Lapu. ! He verbalized that he has a 3-year experience in cooking for the patient inside Talay Mental Rehabilitation Center and accompanies the doctor when there are rounds in the wards and cells every Monday and Friday. He also mentioned helping the utility workers every day. He also claimed that he helps in assisting patients who becomes aggressive. ! Ang ako ra unta nga kinahanglan unta nga, ug pwede ma isyuhan ko nila ug ambulansya na para makadrive na ko, maregular ko sa trabaho or ma casual pa ko hangtud na ma regular ko. Dayun pag maregular na ko, makakuha unta ko ug beneficiaries sa akoang pagtrabaho kay mu-abot ko ug 30 years para naa poy sentimental value sa akoang kinabuhi, sa mga ning-agi na adlaw na madala nako ig tigulang na nako, as verbalized by the client. ! Further clarified that the client is hoping for an ambulance so that he can drive again so to offer his service to the facility and at the same time, receive monetary incentives. He also wanted to become a regular employee so he can have beneficiaries because he had 7 to 9 years of driving experience as claimed. ! The student nurse shared that some of the beneficiaries that are offered to government employees is the issuance of PhilHealth and SSS which will further help those who have retired in financing themselves as they live. ! Showed recognition to the client because he has future plans that will help him in improving his health. ! Asked about his inspiration in life and in improving his health and he responded that he wanted to return back to his full potential and to be of help to other patients through driving an ambulance and for emergency cases. ! The student nurse reminded that patient that we are here to help him reach his fullest potential and to recover as much as our interaction is concerned. ! The patient then claimed that his uncle could get a doctors certificate to be an evidence so he can work again in the society but the doctor still needs to asses his condition. ! If ever he cannot drive an ambulance, the client claimed that he would still stay in the facility because he can sense a future in the renovation of the facility and it will greatly help those people who have the same conditions as his and those who are suffering of mental illness. ! The student nurse verified what the client told and he added that he wants the patient to be comfortable in their stay at Talay Mental Rehabilitation Center. ! The student nurse added that the environment would greatly matter in caring with the patients confined in the facility, which would then give emphasis of environmental sanitation and maintenance of a clean environment. ! The student nurse verbalized her observations that those patients who have improved mental stability are allowed to help with the chores and works inside the facility. ! The client verbalized, Laughter is the best medicine. ! The client further verbalized that we should be happy with out life so we can experience the fullness of life, itself because life is a gift from God. ! Further asked how will the client respond towards disappointments in life and he replied, Okay ra sa akoa. Ug kabalo ka mudawat ug kadaogan, kabalo pud ka mudawat ug kapirdihan. ! The student nurse encouraged the client to continue what he just expressed in dealing with disappointments. ! The client expressed that he was greatly disappointed upon knowing just recently that there are people who are against the improvement of Talay Mental Rehabilitation Center. There are people who want to topple down the institution but he has high hopes that the government will do their job in maintaining and improving, as well as in expanding the facility. ! The student nurse conversed about the government that there are a lot of processes to be done before they can come up with a decision since they will consider the budget and how it may be of help to the majority of the people. In short, they will weight their priorities because the government has other projects to implement, as well. The student nurse further explained that only those who are in the position or who are involved in such action could answer his inquiries. ! Asked about his inquiries with regards to him being a driver and he answered that he already told those in the office of the facility about it and he frequently followed-up them. Those in the office told him that all he needs to do is to wait for the confirmation than an ambulance will be given as claimed. ! We informed the client that the 45-minute interaction was done. ! We bid farewell and thanked the client for his time and cooperation. We then instructed him that we would be back next week on Friday at 9:30 in the morning. Furthermore, we reminded him that he should take a bath and prepare prior to our interaction We also offered him that we will bring bath soap next time so he can bathe himself everyday to enhance his hygiene and grooming.
