1. Introduction
Indian Railways with a network of approximate 62,000
route KM, have approximately 130 RRI Route Relay
Interlo!kin"# and 1$%0 &I &anel Interlo!kin"#
Installation' (hese systems re)uires !onsidera*le time in
installation, re)uire !onsidera*le spa!e and a lar"e no'
of relays whi!h makes the system !onsidera*le
!ompli!ated'
+ith the advan!ement of !omputer and
!ommuni!ation te!hnolo"y it has *e!ome possi*le to
in!orporate the lo"i! in ,le!troni! Interlo!kin" -ystem
whi!h is more !ompa!t and easy to adopt fre)uent
!han"es' .arious railways are slowly adoptin" different
types of ,le!troni! Interlo!kin" -ystems --I# all over
the world' Indian railways also have installed ,le!troni!
Interlo!kin" -ystem at more than 12 stations in!ludin"
3 stations developed indi"enously' ,le!troni!
