ABBs integrated gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) is a pre-
designed, standardized and fully integrated switchgear unit for
fast deployment and high reliability. It is based on our well-
proven GIS technology.
The growing demand for power in urban areas as well as in
the mining, oil and gas industries requires power supply that
is reliable, flexible and available at short notice. An interrup-
tion in power supply, no matter how short, can be costly to
both utility companies and industries. Our integrated GIS units
are designed, assembled and fully tested before leaving the
factory to ensure the highest quality and a drastically reduced
installation time. In addition to the GIS, protection relays, con-
trol, monitoring and communication devices, auxiliary equip-
ment such as air-conditioning, lighting, uninterruptable power
supply, fire-fighting equipment etc. can also be integrated.
With a rating up to 245 kV, 3150 A, 50 kA it is the ideal solu-
tion for customers in need of a substation that can be quickly
energized for grid expansions, for backup or emergency power
needs, and for short installation time requirements.
