Those little things about myself
Im probably as old as you are, maybe even
younger..
I am currently enrolled in Doctor of Philosophy
(Ph.D) program.
My main area of interests are market
competition, earnings quality, corporate
governance, ethical conduct in business,
auditors role, executive compensation and
other corporate finance related area.
Three rules before we start
I would like you to be as open-minded as
possible
I would like you to think outside-the-box as
much as possible
I would like you to be critical in every aspects
to the materials that I am about to give

What is integrity?
Integritas: mutu, sifat, atau keadaan yg
menunjukkan kesatuan yg utuh sehingga
memiliki potensi dan kemampuan yg
memancarkan kewibawaan; kejujuran.
Integritas nasional: wujud keutuhan prinsip
moral dan etika bangsa dl kehidupan
bernegara.

What is integrity?
Integrity
Derived from the word integer in Latin meaning
whole or complete.
1) Adherence (ketaatan) to moral and ethical
principles; soundness of moral character;
honesty.
2) The state of being whole, entire, and
undiminished (tak dapat berkurang/pudar).
3) A sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition.

Integrity:
1) Firm adherence (ketaatan) to a code of
especially moral or artistic values =>
incorruptibility
2) An unimpaired condition => soundness
3) The quality or state of being complete or
undivided => completeness

Integrity is a concept of consistency of
actions, values, methods, measures, principles,
expectations, and outcomes (Wikipedia.com).
Integrity is needed and should be found
everywhere you go (from politics to physics).
In Physics, really??
Three stages of Physics theories development:
1) Newtonian Physics
2) General Relativity (of Einstein)
3) Quantum Mechanics
Integrity and its applications
Newtonian physics demonstrates
sufficiency for most activities on
Earth, but produced a calculation
more than ten feet in error when
applied to NASA's moon landings,
whereas general relativity
calculations were precise for that

Is integrity important?
Do we really need to be someone that
has integrity?
The concept of integrity is so perfect, I
dont think anyone could achieve that
level.
Should we really embrace integrity at the
end of the day?
How to be a person that has integrity?

In my humble opinion:
Integrity should be more powerful with the
presence of greater knowledge.
Integrity should come with attitude, character
and behavior that realize (not portray) the
expectations of being one.
Therefore, a person with integrity has certain
attitudes, characters and behaviors within
them that separates him/her from the others.
What are the properties of
integrity?
There are numerous books out there that
describe the characteristics of so-called great
people.
The classic example of the list is from the
Stephen Richards Coveys The Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People.
He improved these seven-habits by adding
one more habit to them in his book entitled
The 8

Leadership from Harvards
Perspective
Since 1998, Harvard Business Review has
improved their definitions and attitude towards
leadership.
The discussion of what is leadership? or
how to be a good leader? is no longer a
concern.
Instead, they concerned more on the problems
surrounding the leaders and how to become
persuasive leaders.
Therefore, we must constantly improve our
understandings towards ourselves.

He was born in 1963,
British-Canadian journalist,

The 10,000 Hours Rule
Bill Gates spent most of his time from 1968
(starting at the age of 13) in front of his high-
school computer to develop computer
programming (approx. 10,000 hours).
The Beatles performed live in Hamburg,
Germany over 1200 times from 1960-1964,
amassing more than 10,000 hours of playing
time.
No one not rock stars, professional
athletes, not software billionaires, and not
even geniuses ever makes it alone.

Even God Himself told us to pursuit the
knowledge as much as possible.
