(a) Find the position of K. [2 marks]

(b) Calculate the shortest distance, in nautical miles, from M to K, measured along the

surface of the earth. [3 marks]

(c) Find the latitude of L. [3 marks]

(d) An aeroplane took off from J and flew due west to K along the parallel of latitude

with an average speed of 800 knots. Calculate the time, in hours, taken for the flight.
