METHODOLOGY

In the conduct of this study, the following procedures will be done:

a) The thesis proposal must be approved first before gathering the data.
b) Information will be collected for the design of a green building for the PICE
office such as EI !Environmental Impact ssessment). The EI must be filed so
that the researchers will "now the condition of the site and what to add or remove
on the design of the proposed structure.
#ight investigations will be conducted to determine information such as the lot
elevations, total lot area, lot perimeter and also, to determine the actual condition
of the site.
E$perienced and reliable individuals will be interviewed to collect supplementary
information such as those information for the design of steel and concrete
construction li"e Civil Engineers and information for the construction site from
the local municipality. %urther data will be collected from boo"s, &ournals, internet
and previous studies that are relevant in conducting the study.
c) ppropriate architectural plans such as the floor plans, and perspective will be
designed for the structure to meet the re'uirements and to ma"e convenience for
the present situation and condition of the site. %loor plans, perspective and design
of (oof )ec" will be utili*ed by using uto Computer ided )esign !uto+C))
and #"etch ,p.
d) -ased on the .#CP /010 !.ational #tructural Code of the Philippines), using the
coefficients and recommended load depending on the use or occupancy and
location of the structure, )ead load, 2ive load, 3ind and #eismic load will be
computed using #tructural ided nalysis and )esign !#T)). These
computation will be done to ensure safety of the structure and to determine
specifications of construction materials to be used that will comply with the
loading re'uirements.
e) #tructural members such as beams, columns, slabs, and footings will be designed
based on the .#CP /010 using the software, #T).
f) ll the data that have been gathered, the rchitectural and #tructural )esign, must
be associated.
g) The researchers will have to identify if the materials are locally available and will
have to evaluate the convenience of using such materials.
h) The whole pro&ect can now be estimated to determine the budget needed for the
pro&ect.

capacity and lot perimeter.
Expected Output
The study will provide a detailed architectural and structural plan of a two+story
green building for the PICE Cavite chapter office, cost estimate of the materials to be
used, and a tarpaulin of the e$pected physical structure.
Budgetary Estimate
The estimated cost of the study from the development of outline, gathering of data,
preparation of manuscript and up to the production of the final manuscript is
appro$imately 15,600.00.
