Use cases for Biometric based authentication Context: With 57.62 crore Aadhar cards issued, Aadhar presents a great platform and potential to establish and authenticate the identity of any person. The recent advancements in recognition technology coupled with increases in digital storage capacity and computer processing speed have made biometric technology feasible in many identification applications. Countries have started to use biometrics authentication not only for tracking criminals but also for doling out benefits, establishing identity for transaction etc. As a part of this competition, we would like you to identify use cases where Aadhar based biometric authentication can help in: Enhancing quality of service delivery Increasing security Reducing time for service delivery Reducing cost of transaction Increasing reach or span of service delivery ( * Please refrain from use cases like NREGA implementation where Aadhar based authentication is already in place focus is on private sector especially SMB) The use cases could be relevant for: Enterprises Business owners Professional practitioners doctor, lawyers, Individual citizens who would wish to authenticate the identity of another person for providing a service or completing a transaction.
Use Case Format: The use case should have the following aspects well defined: Name : College : Email id: Phone number: Use Case Description: Industry (if applicable): End User : Subject ( the person who is being authenticated) Customer : Number of transaction per user: e.g. per day/per month/per year yoy increase in transactions per user (in %age): Estimated user base in 2015: User base calculation formula: Expected yoy increase (in %age): Purpose for authentication:

Criteria for evaluation the best use cases are: 1. How innovative the idea is 2. User base size 3. Revenue potential 4. Articulation of use case 5. How close is the estimated market size potential to the outcome of Zinnovs primary research
Awards: The top three ideas across colleges will be awarded cash prizes on Rs.10,000 and certificates of appreciation from Zinnov.
