OF CLASS OF 2018
Plebe Summer is coming to a close, and the parents of
the Class of 2018 will be reunited with their plebes this
weekend for the frst time in six weeks.
This edition of Trident includes tools for the Naval
Academy visitor to help fnd your away around the
Yard.
Included in this information is a schedule of Plebe
Parents Weekend events.
Be sure to check out page two for even more info
about things to do on the Yard.
Welcome to Annapolis and congratulations to the
plebes for successfully completing their rigorous
introduction to the academy and the U.S. Navy.

WATCH THE CLASS OF 2018 FORMATI ON TI ME LAPSE
In case you missed it the frst time or fnd yourself with a few extra minutes while youre waiting to hug your plebe, watch the time lapse video of the Class of 2018
formation.
MEETI NG YOUR MI D
The frst opportunity to see your son or daughter
will be on Friday, Aug.8, after noon formation. There
will be lettered signs in alphabetical order dispersed
along Stribling Walk. Your midshipman will expect to
fnd you at the sign corresponding to the frst letter of
his or her last name (in case of inclement weather,
please wait in Alumni Hall to meet after the Welcome
Aboard/ParentsForum). Please do not expect to meet
your mid before12:15 p.m. on Friday. At best, you will
break your midshipmans concentration on training. At
worst, you will disrupt the training of an entire company
and the careful planning and timing that go into each
training evolution. As such, Friday morning physical
education is not open to the public.
PLEBE SUMMER BOOK
Upon your arrival at the Naval Academy, please
proceed to Dahlgren Hall to receive your nametag
and Plebe Summer Book. There is no need to register.
The Information Desk will be open Thursday, 1-6 p.m.;
Friday 7 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Saturday 8-9 a.m.
WEEKEND GATE ACCESS
Gate 1 is open to vehicle traffc 6 a.m.-10 p.m. (1 a.m.
Fri & Sat) and pedestrian traffc 5 a.m.-midnight (2 a.m.
Fri & Sat). Gate 3 is open to pedestrian traffc only, 6
a.m.-10 p.m. Gate 8 is open to vehicle and pedestrian
traffc 24 hours.
