INTRODUCTION
A modern state cannot be thought of without a
Constitution. Theentirelegislative, executiveand
judicial functions of the State are guided and
regulatedbytheConstitution. Theconstitutionand
its development, as the supreme legal framework
of a country, is a continuing process so that the
constitutional amendments is necessary for
country. To keep the constitution relevant to the
current times the constitution of Bangladesh has
beenamendments15times.
13th Amendment
The 13
th
amendment was passed on March
26, 1996, by which caretaker government
systemwasincorporatedintheconstitution.
Historical Importance
The crisis of creating congenial atmosphere
inholdingfreeandfair electionwas created
by the political parties and the political
parties had themselves came forward with
the solution for overcoming the same
through theconstitutional process of Non-
PartyCaretaker Government
Advantages From 13th
Amendment.
It helps us to get rid of monocracy.
It provided the people to enjoy their
voting rights and play their role in the
better course of democratic governance

government liable to the public.

election and causes a bad result from it.

14th Amendment
The Constitutional Act 2004 was passed providing,
among others, the following provisions reservation
of 45 seats for women on a proportional
representationbasisfor thenext 10yearsincreasein
the retirement age of Supreme Court J udges from
65 to 67 years and displaying of portraits of the
President andthePrimeMinister inall government,
semi-government and autonomous offices and
diplomaticmissionsabroad.
Historical Importance
Due to the 14th amendment , women now
have more opportunities to serve the
country. Because of our male dominated
society women have slightly lesser scope
to serve as politicians than men.
Increasing the age limit of the judges has
enabled the experience judges to serve
the countryfor longer period.
Advantages From 14th
Amendment
Quotas are empirically the most effective
wayof achievingabetter gender balance.
It ensured the minimum participation of
womeninBangladeshspolitics.
Thesereservedseatsengagepolitical parties
to seek find and train suitable women
candidates.
Advantages From 14th

By increasing judges retirement age, it
ensured more experienced judges in the
Supreme Court.
it ensured the fervently to the govt.

Disadvantages From 14th
Amendment
Quotas reserved women seats are
discriminatory against men.
Women elected through quotas may
find it more difficult as they are not
perceived as being equally competent
as their male counterparts.

Quotas can may benefits the wrong
women.
Old judges are not creative & clever at
all. Only experience cant do a work
properly.
Putting portraits of the President and the
Prime Minister government would have
been a waste of time & money.
Conclusion
Constitutional amendments is
necessary for every country. But in our
country political parties make
amendments to the constitution
unnecessarily for their own benefit.
This kind of practice has to be left for
the welfare of the country.
