Well it's upon me. The
first of our children is
about to leave home.
How do I feel I ask
myself. Well I have very
mixed emotions. I feel glad for her as
she moves into independence and
adulthood and begins to follow her
heart and passion. I feel proud of who
she is and what she has already begun
to achieve. I feel sad because she is
leaving and I will miss her. I feel afraid
because I am no longer there to
protect or guide her and it's a big bad
world and I hope she will be all right. I
worry too that her faith may come
under pressure from new friends and
peer groups and fall by the wayside. So
what can I do I ask myself. And the
answer I get is not much. I can pray
and I will, but in the end I just have to
trust that the job we have done so far
has established strong enough
principles and character to keep her
safe and to allow her to build her life
upon a solid foundation. All I can say is
that it's tough being a parent. However

uplift a box or two.
I also want to offer a big thank you to
the Christian community and to all here
in Greymouth who have invested
something of themselves in the
forming of Rebekah.
CARD AND CRAFT DAY
Sat 14th Feb 10:30am till 3pm at the
Uniting Church Hall, cost $10. Please
bring your own cutting board, pencil,
rubber, and craft knife. If you can't, we
do have some available. This year we
want to have a fun time so we have
decided that we will go back to basics.
You will receive packs again and you
will only make four cards. This will give
you time to finish the card completely.
These will be easy cards to make.
