1. GREETINGS

1.1 Head of English Panel greeted all the English teachers and thanked them for
their presence and she hoped that the teachers are able to lend a hand and work
together to ensure all the activities planned by the English panel throughout
2014 are carried out successfully.


2. MINUTE APPROVAL

2.1 Suggested by Puan Parameswary A/P Doriasamy and seconded by Puan Siti Sarah
Bt Sukor.


3. ARISING MATTERS

3.1 Activity Book/Workbook

Head of English Panel reminded the teachers to utilize and use all the activity book /
workbooks. All these books must be marked. Despite, having problems with the Year 4
workbook regarding the scope and syllabus, teachers can use it to carry out remedial or
enrichment activities in class.

3.2 Book Inspection

Book inspections will be carried out twice a year, which once in March and the second in
July 2014. Head of English Panel thanked all the teachers for submitting their books on
time for the 1

round of inspection.

3.3.2 PKSR 1
Head of English Panel reminded teachers to prepare questions for the upcoming
examination, PKSR 1. All questions set must be submitted according to the
dateline.

3.4 School Based Oral Assessment
The SBOA assessment should be carried out twice a year. However, Head of English
Panel reminded that only Year 5 and Year 6 teachers need to complete the SBOA
booklet this year. The SBOA assessment using booklet will not be implemented due to
the new KSSR sylabus.

4. ACADEMIC ISSUES

4.1 English Panel Project

4.1.1 Educator
Head of English Panel emphasized on the usage of the educational magazine, Educator
among the students. For Level 1, the Educator costs RM0.50 whereas it is RM1.00 for
Level 2. This magazine has compact information, interesting competitions and amazing
exercises for the pupils. For the time being, it is not compulsory for the pupils to buy.


4.1.2 D-Day (Dictionary Day)
Puan Sarah mentioned that the pupils can buy dictionaries in order to enhance their
vocabulary in the classroom. It was suggested by the headmaster, En Azhari. As a pilot
test, 100 dictionaries will be sold at RM 5 each and can be used in classes.

4.2 MBMMBI

En Rashdan highlighted that our school has MBMMBI software that can be used during
the English lesson for Level 1 (Year 1-3). Head of English Panel adviced all the teachers
to use it and record the usage in their record books. For any enquiries regarding
MBMMBI project, Level 1 teachers can see En Rashdan.

5. MISCELLANEOUS

5.1 Frog-VLE
Head of English Panel reminded all the teachers to update their contents in FROG
VLE site. This is to ensure that all the pupils are able to benefit from the resourceful
site.

5.2 LED Board: Technical problems
English Panel had bought a LED Board to improve vocabulary of pupils as on English
activity. It would display time, day and list of vocabulary for Level 1 and Level 2.
However, the LED has technical problems with the electric circuit. Head of English Panel
asks En Halim and En Rushdan to help with the matter.
