1. PURPOSE
This document provides details and procedures for the internal auditing process.
2. THEORY
Internal auditing of a companys !uality system is critical for maintaining good process
and documentation and for identifying areas of improvement opportunity.
3. Opening Meeting Objectie!
3.1. Introduce the members of the audit team to the auditees and establish communication
links "ith activities being audited.
3.2. #evie" the scope and ob$ectives of the audit and provide a short summary of the
methods and procedures to be used to conduct the audit.
3.3. %larify the details of the audit plan and confirm the time and date for the closing
meeting and any interim meetings.
". I#TER#A$ AU%ITI#& PRO'E%URE
".1. Internal !uality audits are conducted by an audit of & auditors to promote ob$ectivity
and to ensure ongoing compliance "ith re!uirements of the companys policies and
procedures. This is accomplished by auditing all identified processes against
re!uirement at least once annually.
".2. Audit re!uirements include those of the companys !uality systems documents as
"ell as re!uirements of the customers or regulatory authorities as applicable.
".3. Auditors may not be independent of the area being audited' therefore the company
must use an audit team to perform internal audits or used an approved third party
auditors for its internal audit program.
".". Minimum auditor training re!uirements are as follo"s()
Internal auditors( a minimum of four *+, hours of internal auditor training
programme or e!uivalent previous experience that mitigates the need for this
training.

".(. The !uality manager plans audits according to needs. management decision or
customer re!uirements and assigns a lead auditor for each.
".). The !uality manager maintains the internal audit scheduled that records this
information /sing form 012.
".*. /sing the internal audit report. the lead auditor "ill plan the scheduled audit "ith the
appropriate departments and "ith other audit team members. The audit team "ill
determine additional checklist items or re!uirements to verify and add them to the
internal audit #eport.
".+. An audit team of t"o auditor then conduct audit by obtaining ob$ective evidence to
support each re!uirement or indicate "here nonconformance are found. All findings
are recorded on internal audit #eport.
".,. The internal audit team submits the re!uest for corrective action according to the
-SP+.... '/rrectie and Preentie Acti/n Pr/cedure as necessary to address the
3onconformance reported on the audit report. According to that procedure. the
responsible managers or parties shall ensure timely corrective action is taken to
remedy any nonconformance.
".1.. During the corrective action effectiveness revie". the results of action taken to
address audit findings are evaluated.
".11. The completed internal audit report is then returned to the !uality manager for
logging and the internal audit schedule is updated.
".12. %opies of the completed internal audit reports are sent to the appropriate
managers of the area audited to report the findings and the results. In this "ay and in
con$unction "ith the submission of the corrective action re!uests. all necessary
managers notified of the audit results to make informed decision for their departments
based on those results.
".13. In all cases. auditees are expected to cooperate fully "ith the audit team.
