Narrative Report

Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an
opportunity to apply the theories that we have learned from school. It also helps us to
obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges
and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number
of hours as part of the curriculum.
For us students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go
through the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipments, and
documents. In effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student
trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from
classroom.
Our school, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas let us students to
engage and experience the things happening in the actual world of Paralegals through
our On-The-Job-Training in law firms and other law related establishments. We have
given 450 hours to undergo and pursue this training that will help us to acquire
knowledge and skills that will serve as a tool to face the challenges of life in the future. It
will set our mind of what does a real world of paralegal is all about. Others think that
being a paralegal matters only on paper works; however, it also matters or related in
decision making. It also somewhat related to the development of our skills in
communication and management. Thus, experience is vital to ones improvement and
preparing students to their career is the best way to set them on success.

To hold this On-The-Job-Training our Department Chairman has chosen
Department of Justice as a training ground in promoting professionalism.
The Department of Justice as a training ground provides me a venue to achieve
efficient knowledge to the use our skills in legal profession. It also build up my
competence, professionalism in dealing with people, critical thinking abilities, discipline,
ingenuity and independence. It also gives strong organizational skills and high ethical
standards and supplies the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
During the days of my training Id familiarized what are the dealings in the
National Prosecution Service was. But just like in real life we couldnt avoid to commit
mistakes. No one is perfect, I remember one time that I committed a mistake, they didnt
blame me instead they teach me how to do the task correctly. Sometimes the more we
commit mistakes the more we learned the lesson because as what they said well learn
a lot from our own mistakes. So in the near future Ill apply those things that I learned
during my OJT time.
