RULES FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR FULL TIME POST GRADUATE
DEGREE COURSE IN MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY TOWN AND COUNTRY
PLANNING FOR B. ARCH QUOTA (ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-14)
1. General: As per the directives of Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai
(2A/ADM/ADMISSION/2013/540 dated 2/7/2013) the admission for Full Time
Master of Technology - Town and Country Planning course to 15 (fifteen) number
of seats reserved for Architectural background candidates will be conducted at the
Institute level for academic year 2013-14. Accordingly, applications are invited from
eligible candidates by applying online on Institutes website www.coep.org.in.
2. Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should be an Indian National and who possess or
appeared for final year examination of B. Arch/ B. Planning / G.D. Arch/ New
Diploma in Architecture (Five years full time) awarded by Government of
Maharashtra with one years Practical Experience/ARIBA from an AICTE / MHRD
approved institutions, as specified by the concerned University for which admission is
being sought to a particular Post Graduate course/specialization, with at least 50 %
Aggregate Marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward Class
categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only).
3. Priority for Admission: Admission will primarily be offered to the candidates
having valid GATE Score in Architecture and Planning. If seats remain vacant,
admissions will be offered to the candidates having secured non-zero marks in the
M.Arch-CET 2013. If seats still remain vacant, admission will be offered to the
candidates, who have secured non-zero marks in the CET conducted by the Institute.
(Syllabus for CET to be conducted by the Institute will be same as that of M.Arch-
CET 2013 exmination). All these admission will be conducted based on inter-se merit
of the candidates.
4. Reservation of Seats: Reservation is only for Maharashtra State candidates. No
reservation is applicable for sponsored candidates and candidates having secured non-
zero marks in the M.Arch-CET 2013 and CET conducted by the Institute. Distribution
of 15 number of seats reserved for Architecture background candidates are as follows:

5. Fee Structure (2013-14): Candidates who have secured admission for Master of
Technology - Town and Country Planning course are required to pay the fees as

under. All the fees are to be paid at the time of admission only in the form of
Demand Draft drawn in favor of The Director, College of Engineering, Pune
payable at Pune, to confirm the admission.

Note: *Institute Fees are likely to be revised by the State Government of Maharashtra
6. Admission Procedure:
Application Fee: Rs. 800/- for open category candidate, Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/OBC/VJ/
NT1/NT2/NT3 category candidates and Rs. 2000/- for Foreign National candidates in
the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of The Director, College of Engineering,
Pune payable at Pune. Application fee is non-refundable.
It is mandatory to fill the online application form on the Institutes website
www.coep.org.in. Only online applications will be accepted for admissions.
Candidates need to read carefully the information brochure published on Directorate
of Technical Educations website i.e. www.dte.org.in for ME / M. Tech. Admission
before filling the online application form.
Fill the online application form. Furnish requisite details. Once all details are entered,
click on Submit button. You will see the filled form in pdf format.
Take print out and paste the latest photograph.
Ensure that all necessary documents are attached along with duly signed application
form.
Candidates has to report on the day of admission with print out of application form
along with all necessary documents in original and one set of attested photocopies and
Demand Draft of application fee as mentioned above as well as Demand Draft
towards Admission fee.
List of documents to be submitted in original along-with attested photocopies of the
same on the day of admission:
i) Print out of online application form
ii) Demand Draft of application fee
iii) Demand Draft towards admission fee
iv) Certificate of Indian Nationality in the name of the candidate
v) Statement of marks of HSC and SSC
vi) Statement of marks for the Bachelors Degree Examination in case the candidate
has passed the bachelors degree examination/equivalent qualifying examination
vii) Caste Certificate (if applicable)
viii) Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate (if applicable)
ix) Non Creamy Layer Certificate valid up to 31

March, 2014 (if applicable)
x) Domicile Certificate of candidates father/mother (if applicable), clearly
indicating the place of permanent residence of the candidate/father or mother or
husband
xi) Domicile Certificate of candidate: in case of Type-A candidate in lieu of
Domicile Certificate candidates should produce Birth Certificate of candidate
indicating place of birth in Maharashtra State OR School Leaving Certificate
indicating place of birth of candidate is in Maharashtra State.

xii) Certificates in Proforma A (sponsorship letter), E (for Type C candidates), F
(for Type 'D candidates), F-1 (for P1/ P2/ P3(OD) candidates), F-2 (for
Physically Handicapped candidates)
xiii) Undertaking in Proforma B (sponsored candidates), C (candidates whose
qualifying examination results not declared), D (for GATE qualified
candidates)
xiv) Undertaking in Proforma I in original
xv) Receipt of payment of admission fee, if admission is already taken elsewhere
xvi) Hall Ticket for PGET-CET 2013 (as the case may be)
xvii) Any other relevant document
