Her Story

A fictional story about gang stalking campaigns.
While the story includes elements of general gang stalking campaigns and a real
campaign could follow along the same lines, it is only a dramatization. No particular
gang stalking campaigns are known to exactly match this story.

His Story
I am here on behalf of my friend. She couldnt come in herself. Ill tell you why later.
Did you listen to the audio? I asked while setting my stuff down and taking a seat.
Yes, Im a little confused as to what that has to do with your friend? the victims
advocate asked.
Hopefully, itll all make sense after I explain. The woman in the audio told a victims
advocate what happened to her friend hoping it would help a guy that she met at a
funeral. Its ironic that Im here doing almost the same thing but it seemed like the only
other option left. The reason I told you to listen to that was so you could have some idea
of what my friend is going through.and also that shes not the only one this happened
to. I dont want her to end up like that womans friend. Things have gotten really bad
for her, I replied.
I dont mind hearing what you have to say but why didnt you just go to the same
advocate she went to? the victims advocate asked.
I tried but that person didnt work at the same place anymore and no one at the job had
any more information. I found out what happened after getting in contact with the
woman from the audio. She gave me the link to a website she set up to tell her friends
story and gave permission for the info to be used to help others, I explained.
What happened? the victims advocate asked.
The victims advocate tried to advocate for the guy but ran into a lot of walls and red
tape. The cops werent doing anything to investigate the death of the womans friend and
were reluctant to look into what happened to the guy. The best that the victims advocate
could do was have the case against the guy dropped if the guy went to rehab for six
months. The victims advocate was warned not to pursue either case any further and was
later transferred to another location. The victims advocate told the woman what
happened and that she should not pursue her friends case any further right now for her
own safety. So she set up the website with her friends story, what happened when she
tried to get justice for her friend, and a little bit about what happened to the guy. When I
contacted her, she said she hadnt given up but just has to wait it out for a while, I
explained.
So the guy is in rehab. What does all this have to do with your friend? the victims
advocate asked.
The guy left rehab and was assigned a psychiatrist. He didnt seem to get along with
the psychiatrist but was doing good with the medication so he was assigned a social
worker instead. My friend was his social worker. I said.
So youre here on behalf of the guy too? the victims advocate asked.
No, Im here on my friends behalf. Let me explain. The guy is in a bad situation. He
was diagnosed with schizophrenia, which he accepted and took the meds. But the meds
didnt stop the strange people and things that were happening to him. The same things
were happening so he told the psychiatrist he was misdiagnosed and thats when they
started not getting along. The psychiatrist just said he was also suffering from paranoia
and prescribed more meds. Things went well for a while but then he accused the court
ordered accountants of embezzling funds from his estate. Despite the meds, the same
thing as before started happening again. He told the psychiatrist but the psychiatrist just
upped the doses. Nothing changed and he said he was misdiagnosed again. The
psychiatrist said he had relapsed because even he said that things had gotten better after
Her Story PLN 3

the paranoia meds were prescribed. He was ordered back to rehab where he said he was
intimidated and abused. After he got out, he quietly took his meds and asked for a social
worker instead of a psychiatrist. Since he was cooperative, they agreed and thats how
my friend met him. A little while later, the woman contacted him to see how he was
doing and gave him the link to her memorial website. She said she tried to call him later
and was told he could only receive calls from family members. He visited the website
and thats when he started realizing what happened to him and that he wasnt crazy. He
confronted them and they tried to console him but he wouldnt back down. Then they
laughed in his face. He warned that he would go to the police and FBI but they told him
that they would have someone waiting for him there. They told him that he was crazy
and diagnosed with paranoia and schizophrenia and had to be committed several times,
no one would believe him. He would be dismissed as a rambling madman. They
arrogantly told him to leave the office because they had work to do. Before, he left one
of the accountants who tried to console him told him to wait a minute. She put her arms
around him and led him to the window. She pointed to a brand new expensive car and
said You see that? Thats my new car. Then kissed him on the cheek and said Thank
you! You shouldnt have. The other accountants laughed and then one said Get him out
of here. He left with his head down. He criedhe cried in his car. He went home and
thought about committing suicide but just after the thought passed his mind, the phone
rang. It was one of the accountants who said You werent going to hurt yourself were
you? We were worried because you left here so depressed. We are putting you on
suicide watch. We need you to stay alive. A nurses aid will be there shortly to spend
the night. You will have a 24 hour nurses aide as long as we feel necessary. He yelled
that he didnt need an aide but the accountant said if he didnt cooperate they would get a
court order for the nurses aide to stay. Then he said in a threatening low voice You can
also go back to rehab but you dont want that do you? They knew! They knew what
happened to him in rehab. He hadnt told anyone about the abuse. He was shocked and
said no. So he got a 24-hour nurses aide. He didnt know why they wanted him alive
until he went to write a will. Do you know why they wanted him alive so bad? I asked
the victims advocate.
No, why? she asked.
To keep control over his estate. If he died, the whole thing would go to his next of kin
because he wasnt married and didnt have any kids. Thats why they said We need you
alive. Can you believe that? I asked
Thats very low, The victims advocate said.
You havent heard the worst of it yet. He had a sister. When he visited the memorial
website and realized he really wasnt crazy, he stopped taking the meds but didnt tell
anybody. He showed the website to his sister and told her what happened to him. She
was alarmed and ready to fight but he told her to be careful. She called them and asked
questions about how they were managing his estate. At first they were nice about it but
soon got nasty when she asked about the points that he had bought up. Do you know
what they did? They offered her control of one of his properties to keep her mouth shut.
There they were bribing his own family member with his property. The nerve! She didnt
accept it and got to work. Since the meds were wearing off and clearing out of his
system, he was gaining more clarity. Soon he was back to being a shrewd businessman
but played off that he was still the medicated zombie they wanted him to be. One day, he
4 Her Story PLN

told my friend about the memorial website and asked her to visit it. She spent the
weekend on the website and was nauseated by what happened to that womans friend.
During the next meeting, she spoke to him about it and he admitted that he was the guy
the website referred to. She didnt believe him and checked his records. He was really
the guy. She emailed the woman who made the memorial website and they spoke over
the phone. She confirmed his identity and said that she tried to call but was told he could
only get calls from family members. Thats when my friend started getting suspicious
because she wasnt told he had restrictions on phone calls. She checked and there were
no restrictions on record. She told him about the phone call and how it was strange that
the woman was told there were restrictions on his phone calls. He started confiding in
her and she paid closer attention to his case. A lot of strange things happened and were
happening. One day she happened to be there when the accountants were. They had just
met with him and were about to leave. She overheard them laughing and one of them
said We hit the jackpot with this one. You like my new watch?. After that she found
out that they were embezzling his money and allowing squatters in his apartments and
other property. She and he hatched up a plan to get evidence of what was happening.
She took pictures and got proof that there were people living on his property and sent the
information to his sister who then asked about possibly renting the property but the
accountants refused and said no one was supposed to live there. She put up a small fight
and asked for that in writing which they did give her. My friend continued to collect
proof of squatters after the accountants said that. She even got pictures of the
accountants going to dinner, barbecues and parties at the property and hanging out with
the squatters. He was indignant and demanded that they be removed from managing his
estate without mentioning what he knew but bringing up the old accusations. They blew
him off. He made a point that they couldnt argue with and that upset them. His sister
called to pursue that point and that sent them scrambling. They threatened to have him
thrown in jail for not paying back taxes. He always paid his taxes but they were going to
try to find something to frame him with. By this time, his sister had went back to school
and got her CPA license. The court could no longer call her incompetent and she
received permission to review his accounts. The strange people started to appear again
and the strange things started happening again. He and his sister were harassed and
intimidated. They tried to get him back in rehab but he didnt do anything to warrant
that. They got a crooked judge to agree to have him involuntarily committed but my
friend stepped in on his behalf and prevented it. They told her they would make her pay
for that and they did. Ill get to that soon. Long story short, the sister was able to prove
the accountants embezzlement and got control over the whole estate, I explained.
Wow, Im glad that worked out, the victims advocate said with relief.
Yeah, they continued to get stalked by the strange network of people but they had
started recording the incidents and put it on their own website linked to the memorial
website. Heres the link, I said writing it down. They left the country for a while
because it got so bad. They said it continued overseas so they had to stop contact with
people in the States for a little while because the calls couldve been traced. My friend
hasnt heard from them since. Now you see what she has to do with all this?
Its definitely a lot clearer. So what happened to your friend? the victims advocate
asked.

Her Story PLN 5

Invasion
They made her pay for doing what was right. After the dust settled, her job started
laying people off and guess who was among the lay-offs? She was a good employee and
really cared about her clients. The ones who barely worked or treated their clients poorly
stayed but she got laid off. That wasnt enough for them. Usually, its easier to find a
job in her field than others but she couldnt land a new job. The bills still had to be paid.
Its not the best paying line of work. You have to really like helping people to stay in it
and she did. She was just starting out and loved her career but because of the pay she
was on a very tight budget. Not having any money coming in made her dip into her
savings. She purchased a home thinking she would always have a job and move up the
ladder so the lay-off and not finding a new job really stressed her finances. I think she
was blacklisted. She thinks they tapped her phone and hacked her computer because she
was getting a lot of wrong numbers and weird messages when she called to follow-up on
a resume submission. It seemed as if they were trying to cut her off from the real normal
world and suck her into their bubble. When she did get an interview, all the interviewers
wore something red and coughed like they had a severe cold in the middle of July. Thats
when she started to realize that the same people who had targeted the guy were after her.
She had forgotten all about the strange things that happened to him. When she was
helping him all that strange stuff was not on her mind and she was just thinking of
helping a client who was being robbed by white-collar criminals. After that happened
back-to-back at about ten interviews, she remembered the memorial website and what
happened to the guy. The interviewers acted normal at first but after a few minutes of
being alone with them during the interview, they started to act strange. She didnt think
much of the red items and coughing at first but they seemed to want her to notice those
things. They would do something to call attention to those things. One guy started off
clearing his throat several times but when she didnt react, he started coughing like he
was going to hack up a lung. She had to ask him if he was okay. He seemed pleased by
this and gave her a sinister smile. Others actually mentioned that they were coughing to
get her to notice. Then she said they started acting strange like she was supposed to
know who they were and be scared. These were people that she was meeting for the first
time yet they were acting too familiar and controlling as if they had known her for a long
time and had developed that type of relationship with her. This happened over and over
again sometimes with people she never met or interacted with before. And they all gave
the same signal. She felt like she was being trained to notice these things like a type of
Pavlovian experiment. Strangers were belittling and talking down to her. She was a kind
person and they tried to take advantage of that, except they used it to try to abuse her.
They used the same signals that they used with the guy. When she walked down the
street, people would deliberately try to walk into her. Sometimes guys, sometimes girls,
sometimes groups. Then they would walk away like nothing happened or give the same
sinister smile and give a fake apology. But they always made it obvious to her that they
did it deliberately. It could be just her and the other person walking opposite ways down
a big sidewalk and she would move away to the opposite side they are on and they would
deliberately move to walk right in front and toward her. If they started on opposite sides
of the street, they would cross over to her side and try to walk into her. She only started
noticing because people would actually cross the street to do it and several times it
6 Her Story PLN

happened back-to-back on the same sidewalk with first a guy then a couple then a parent
and child then two teenage girls. It was strange, I told the victims advocate.

Foreclosure
She was unable to keep up with the mortgage payments and went into foreclosure. The
bank wouldnt work out anything with her and took the case to court. Since she didnt
have much money, she found a pro bono lawyer at first but the lawyer pressured her to
foreclose and move into an apartment. She just needed the lawyer to get the bank to
work with her on lower payments until she found a job. The lawyer said the bank
wouldnt negotiate on that and kept telling her to give up the house. She had put too
much money into the house and had nowhere else to go. It would be too hard finding an
apartment without a job. The landlord would want to know how she would pay the rent.
So you see why she fought so hard to keep her home. One day she had a meeting with
the lawyer. It started off nicely. She complimented the lawyer on her fancy green dress
and matching shoes. The lawyer said she talked to the bank and they were only willing to
negotiate on how long to give her to move out. The bank was willing to lower the
payments for the time it took for her to find a new place. She told her that was a
generous offer and she should take it and run. My friend started to cry because the
lawyer had gotten her hopes up by saying that the bank was willing to negotiate on a
good deal. She told the lawyer that wasnt the good deal she expected. The lawyer asked
her what she expected then condescendingly said You didnt think that they would
accept your other offer, did you? Look, you did this to yourself. I told you they wouldnt
consider anything but foreclosure. Youre lucky I got you this deal. Isnt that cold? I
asked the victims advocate.
I can see where the lawyer was coming from even though she wasnt very good at
delivering bad news. It seems as if she tried to get your friend the best deal she could.
Its hard but your friend couldnt pay and didnt even have job interviews lined up. Its
not fair because of all your friend put into the house but business is all about money, the
advocate said.
Yeah, thats what the lawyer would want people to think about what she did. Thats
what my friend was starting to think but it was still hard to accept. She excused herself
and went to the bathroom to collect herself. She cried in the stall. The lawyer knocked
on the door to check on her and heard her crying. She told her that life was tough but she
just has to bite the bullet and move on. The lawyer told her to take twenty minutes to
think it over and come back to the office when she was ready. My friend went outside to
get some air. She found a quiet spot and sat down. She was deep in thought when she
heard the lawyer talking on the phone. She heard the lawyer say I have her where I
want her. Shes in the bathroom crying. We have to close now. How long do you want
to give her? Five months is too long, I think three is enough No, you dont want to
work on lowered payments. Trust me, I handle these types of cases all the timeShes
been unemployed for more than six months, shes not going to get a job any time soon.
You drag it out and shell find another excuse..How about this, I have a friend who is
interested in the house and is willing to pay you the balance on her mortgage in
cash.As soon as this deal is done, I can set up an appointment immediately.good,
Im glad you see it my waydont feel bad, thats life. Sometimes you have to bite the
Her Story PLN 7

bullet and move on. My friend was stunned, she peaked around the corner and sure
enough it was her lawyer. She took some deep breaths then approached the lawyer. The
lawyer smiled and said I thought you were still in the bathroom. I needed a cigarette
break. Lets go back to my office. When they got back to the office, the lawyer told her
that she had felt so bad that she called the bank trying to get a better deal but all the bank
was willing to offer was two months of lowered payments until she finds a place and then
theyll foreclose. She was shocked that the lawyer looked her in the face and told a
boldfaced lie. She corrected the lawyer and said You mean three months. The lawyer
said no they offered only two months. She told the lawyer The bank initially offered
five months but you suggested three. The lawyer looked confused and asked what she
was talking about. She told her that she overheard her conversation with the bank. The
lawyer was still talking through a tight fake smile and asked Were you eavesdropping on
me?. My friend said no, she just went out for fresh air and happened to hear the
conversation, she was there before the lawyer came out. The lawyer said that she was
discussing a different client. She asked which client did she just have crying in the
bathroom because thats what she told the bank. The lawyer said if she wanted the five
months that would be easy to negotiate. My friend got upset and asked why the lawyer
lied to her. The lawyer said that she didnt lie; she was going to tell her about the five
months if she needed more time. She asked the lawyer why she was still lying. The
lawyer got upset and said that she got her the best deal possible under the circumstances.
She asked her if she understood that she handled hundreds of cases like hers and this was
the best resolution. My friend asked if it was the best resolution for her or the lawyers
friend who was interested in buying her home. The lawyer sat there quietly. My friend
told her she wanted her off the case and would get a new lawyer. The lawyer said that
was the best resolution because she couldnt work with someone who didnt trust her and
wasnt getting paid to put up with such nonsense. My friend said thanks, for nothing,
got up and left. My friend was keeping a video journal of the foreclosure ordeal to help
her deal with it and was in the middle of recording an entry when she overheard the
lawyer. She had forgotten to turn off the recorder and got everything on video, from the
call to the confrontation. I said.
The lawyer was wrong. Okay, that was cold, the victims advocate said.
You havent heard anything yet, I told her.

Too Close
She had to hire a lawyer which was another expense she couldnt afford. It made it
even harder for her to catch up on payments and she fell more behind. Since she really
couldnt afford a lawyer, she had to get the cheapest she could find and hope for the best.
She hired a tough talking lawyer who seemed outraged when she told him what happened
to her. He promised to do his best to help her out. She told him all about the day the
lawyer in the fancy green outfit betrayed her. They restarted negotiations with the bank
but he dragged out everything. He said he was trying to wear the bank out so that they
would just agree with her deal. In the meantime, she still had to pay him. Her life
savings was almost gone. The strange people were still stalking her but now instead of
just wearing red, they added green to the colors they used to covertly identify themselves
to her. Again she didnt notice at first but then they wore green and loudly talked about
court cases, lawyers and foreclosures around her. How people she didnt know knew
8 Her Story PLN

about what happened to her, she didnt know. She had started taking public
transportation because she couldnt afford to pay her car insurance anymore. Once she
was at the bus stop and a teenage couple kept staring at her and laughing. She didnt
know why. She moved away from them and turned her back to them. A few minutes
before her bus was about to arrive, the couple walked towards her. The guy started
chasing the girl yelling, Why did you lie to me?. The girl was giggling while saying,
I didnt lie to you. The guy caught her then said, You look good in your green dress
but youre still lying to me. Thats when my friend noticed what the girl was wearing.
They kissed then looked at my friend with sinister smiles and expectant stares. They
walked away after they realized my friend wasnt going to say anything. After that
scene, green became one of their staples. Another thing was that someone always tried to
invade her private space. When she went to buy groceries, in almost every aisle, as soon
as she stopped to read a label someone would sneak up and stand really close to her.
Sometimes behind her, sometimes by her and even in front of her. Sometimes she would
ignore them and not move but they sent one person after another to stand uncomfortably
close to her until she moved. Then some would cough as she walked away. Sounds
crazy, right? Why would random strangers of all ages, ethnicities and genders harass
someone they dont know in such petty, immature ways? Dont know but she had the
camera recording these weird things. Heres the link to her vlog. She knew it had to do
with her helping the guy but she didnt expect it to be so childish, crazy and drawn out. It
was like they were trying to drive her crazy. It felt like some twisted candid camera
episode with bad actors who gave the joke away. She was just expecting a director to
come out and yell Cut! so the stupid comedic horror show could stop. But that never
happened and it was more than just a bad joke. It was getting serious.

The Hearing
She found out about Homeowners Section 8 and wondered if the bank would be willing
to delay until she applied. She asked her lawyer about getting a Homeowners Section 8
and he froze. Literally, froze. She said he got pale and quiet then snapped back to life.
He asked who told her about Homeowners Section 8 and she said she did some of her
own research to help him out. He suddenly got upset, said that she was calling him
incompetent and didnt trust him. She tried to calm him down and reassure him that was
not what she was saying. But he kept on trying to fight with her. He told her to seek a
second opinion on the Homeowners Section 8 since she didnt trust him. She said he
knew that she couldnt afford to get a second opinion and repeated that she never said
anything about not trusting him. He said that he couldnt work with someone who didnt
trust or second-guessed him cause if that was the case she could look for a new lawyer.
She just sat there quietly, not sure what just happened or what to say. If she had the
money, she would have looked for another lawyer but she didnt. She didnt bring up
Homeowners Section 8 again, stopped asking questions and the lawyer-client relationship
was strained. This happened a week before the court date. By that time she had found a
temporary job and didnt want to take off any more days because she was hoping it would
lead to a permanent position. She was sure that the court wouldnt foreclose now that she
was making more steady payments. On the court date, she went in with copies of
supporting documents that she wanted to present to the court because the bank alleged
that she missed more payments than she really did. She was almost caught up with back
Her Story PLN 9

payments. She showed the documents to her lawyer who was nervous. Without giving a
reason, he told her that she didnt need to present the documents. She wanted to know
why but didnt ask because she didnt want another argument to start before the hearing
started. They were called into the hearing and everything was going normal. He was
asking the other side okay questions. Then it came time to present her information and
you wont believe what happened. The bank bought up the missing payments and the
lawyer agreed they were missing without clarifying that she later made the payments and
was almost caught up. Then they asked about her employment status and he just said it
was a temporary job with no guarantee of a permanent offer. Asked if there was anything
else he wanted to add, he said no. She looked at him like What?! What do you mean
there was no more to add?. But he gestured for her to just be quiet. The judge ruled in
favor of the bank and the house was foreclosed. She was stunned. She just walked away
from the lawyer without a word. A few minutes later, he texted her to see if she was
okay. She didnt even know how to respond and wrote she was just trying to understand
what happened. He texted Life is tough. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and
move on.
You cant be serious?! the victims advocate interjected.
Like a heart attack. And if she doubted his hint he told her later that he did the best he
could but with the missed payments and no permanent job, there was not much he could
do. He negotiated for the bank to give her four months of lowered payments to find a
place and then she would have to vacate the premises. He complained about her walking
away so fast after the hearing. He said I got all dressed up for you. You didnt like my
green shirt and matching shoes, then coughed. She was stunned because she had told
him about that day with the pro-bono lawyer and that was what he was referring to. It
became clear that he was one of them. She had used up her savings just before the court
date to make those late payments thinking there would be no foreclosure. She had no
money left and was living paycheck to paycheck. Four months came and she didnt find
a place. She put her stuff in storage and moved in with a friend for a while. Things got
strange and she moved out. Ill tell you about that later. The temporary job ended with
no permanent offer and she didnt have money for a hotel so she lived out of her car.
Then she didnt have the money to pay her car insurance and she moved into a shelter.
If theres more to the story, I definitely want to hear it but at another time because I
have another appointment scheduled in a few minutes, the victims advocate said.
Ill come back tomorrow, I said.

Et tu, Brute?
A lot of people who are affected by this mysterious stalking network think they are the
CIA, FBI or some secret government experiment. There might be some truth in that.
They probably have people working in those agencies but she doesnt believe its all
government. She said that the way they collected information on her was sort of
grassroots. The lawyers tried to pry into her business by asking questions not really
related to the foreclosure. She wasnt sure why they asked those questions at the time but
after everything that happened, she realized it was information gathering. So she thinks
theres more to it than just government. When she moved in with her friend she got to
see how they turned people on each other. This was a friend she knew since undergrad.
At first everything was fine but then her friend started to act just like the people stalking
10 Her Story PLN

her. She hadnt told her friend about the stalking network so her friend couldnt have
known what the signals were. But it seemed as if they had somehow recruited her friend
and was communicating messages to her through her friend. Her friend would speak
vaguely to insinuate she knew what was going on but would play dumb if my friend tried
to talk about it upfront. Her friend would make comments that referred to what she did
throughout the day although there was no way for her friend to know. It was normal
things like where she went that day, what she bought at stores and things that happened
that day that she didnt tell her. Her friend didnt come out and say I know you did this
or that. She would bring home bananas if my friend had bought a banana for lunch,
have long conversations about bookstores if my friend had visited the bookstore, and
things like that. Those things seemed ordinary but it was the way she did it. She would
keep talking about it until she was certain my friend got the hint that she knew these
things without being told. One day, my friend confronted one of the stalkers who tried to
bully her and got into a big argument. When she got home that day, one of her purses
had the zipper broken and ripped halfway off the seam. This was a fairly new purse she
didnt use often. She didnt say anything about it to her friend. A little while later she
got into another argument with a different stalker and when she got home the front of the
same purse was sliced with a knife. She asked her friend just about the purse but her
friend claimed to know nothing about it. This girl had always been a good friend and
they never had problems. She was shocked that her friend had turned against her and was
acting so deceitful about it. It was totally out of character for her friend to do these things
and behave that way. She figured they must have threatened her friend and she moved
out. She stopped contacting other friends and family because she didnt want them
dragged into this nightmare. She lived out of her car until the winter came then she
stayed in a shelter.

Nowhere To Run To
In just two years, her life was torn apart. Two years ago, she was the one advocating
for people to get public assistance. Now she was the one applying for herself. Two years
ago, she was financially stable and helping people get their lives together. Now, she was
watching her own life fall apart. Shes penniless and fighting everyday for the right to
live her life. When she goes out there are people ready to pick fights and arguments with
her and no one is helping her. When she had her home, she had a safe place away from
the madness. But at the shelter, she was sleeping right next to the stalkers with no wall or
door or any other physical barrier. Dont think that they stopped after she lost
everything. The people that shared rooms with her at the shelter gave the signals as did
some staff members and security guards. They seemed to enjoy terrorizing innocent
people. A group of three females, who shared a room with her, tried to pick arguments
with her. Girls in the other rooms would also try to pick fights with her. At the same
time, strange guys would try to give her money though she didnt know them or speak to
them. Guys were also trying to bully and start arguments with her. Sometimes a group
of guys would follow her short distances and make lewd comments. She dressed
conservatively and only went out mainly to run errands or to keep appointments. She
spent a lot of time at the library but even that turned into a dangerous place after a
teenage boy threatened to beat her up. She did nothing that would make anyone think she
was involved in indecent activities although she was homeless. Several times people
Her Story PLN 11

would try to get her to get in their car. Both males and females did this. She liked to
walk everywhere. They would stalk her on the bus, train and even when she walked.
Either someone would show up out of nowhere or a car would wait for her and the driver
would ask if she needed a ride. They would all give the signal to indicate that they were
part of the stalking network. You know how strip malls would have short walking
distances between another plaza or store? Most people drive or take the bus and you
hardly see someone walking from one strip mall to the next one that was a short distance
away. She would actually walk from one plaza to the other to save money instead of
taking the bus. After she did that a few times, other people would walk at the same time
she did. At first, she thought she just started a trend but the other pedestrians gave the
signal or wore red or green. Once she was walking down a normal street and a car pulled
up beside her. The person called out to her but she ignored him and kept walking. He
drove up a little ways, parked and waited for her to pass. When she did, he repeatedly
asked her if she wanted a ride. Some would wait for her to pass even though she ignored
them earlier then get out the car and approach her to ask if she needed a ride. There were
buses nearby so there really was no reason for them to ask her and be so insistent. So she
had to go out and deal with them and when she returns to the shelter, theyre there too.
She had to sleep with one eye open not knowing what would happen or what they would
try to do next. She saved up her public assistance money to help pay her car insurance.
One day, an old female at the shelter who indicated she was a member of the stalking
network threatened to kill her so she left and has been living in her car. She didnt want
to come in because she is constantly being stalked and was worried that they would just
have one of their members do the interview. Thats what happened when she tried to go
to the police. Is there anything you can do or at least advise me on what I can do to help
her? I asked.
This is really, really tough. Ill have to do some research and get back to you, the
victims advocate said.
I wasnt sure what would happen next; whether my friend would get the help she needed
to stop this insanity. I wasnt sure what I could do to help without becoming a target
myself. She didnt want me to get too involved because she didnt want me to go through
what they put her through. Either way, I was glad that I tried to do something to help her.
