My Reflection about the topic that our teacher discussed to us
Lesson 1: CHRISTIAN MORAL LIFE
I have learned from this lesson that Christian moral living simply means Followers of Christ. It is the life that is lived based or grounded on the life and teaching of Christ. Christian moral life is centered on the Gospel. It is also growing in faith through love of other and prayers. It is always a process of becoming the person we truly are. It is a life of commitment to liberate and transform other to become Christs follower. Prayer is the persons means of communicating with God. It is truly essential to Christian faith. Praying on our own and with the Christian community strengthens us to live a Christian moral life. A prayer and an active sacramental life are the necessary means not only for clarifying the Christian vision, but also for motivating responsible moral decisions and acts. I have learned also that the church is a community of believers in the Triune God with mutual bond.
Lesson 2: THE MORAL PERSON
Now I know, what are those characteristics of a person. The Rational, Relational, Embodied Spirits, Historical and Unique. Rational Beings we can think over a situation before we make our decision and choose our action. We possess this self-awareness through our knowing and free willing. Relational Being we are born in and with the community. We cannot understand our true I without the others. It is in the context of others that we come to the full realization of who we are as individuals. Embodied Spirits we are human beings with body-soul. Historical Realities is the state of being in time characterized by past, present and future. We are pilgrims on-the-way, who gradually become our full selves. Lastly, the Unique, yet fundamentally equal we have distinct quality. We differ in the way we think. We differ in physical appearance. We differ in talents and abilities. We differ in perspective and attitude. It is for this very fact that we are called not to separate but to be one and united, celebrating each others presence and working together as community.
Things to which you can commit yourself: 1. Be human for what is truly human is truly divine. 2. Forgive others. 3. Listen and respect others opinion and ideas. 4. Be aware. 5. Love and dont give up. 6. Celebrate your person with the community.
Lesson 3: FREEDOM
I have learned from this topic that freedom is the capacity or power of act. It is a gift from God to us. Freedom is the basis of all moral thoughts, words, and deeds. Without freedom, there is no human act. Without freedom, nobody will be held responsible and accountable. And without freedom, there is no morality. Morality is a code of conduct or set of beliefs distinguishing right from wrong. I also learned that authentic freedom is doing what is good. It is not the right to say and do anything, but to do good. Authentic means real, true or genuine.
