sector to work in the priv ate technology and commercial law industries. Currently employ ed as the Chief Operating Of f icer and Executiv e Director of U.S.
Operations f or the multinational law f irm DLA Piper, Bob Bratt uses his extensiv e experience to ov ersee large scale commercial and f ederal legal programs.
Presently , Robert Bratt ensures that DLA Piper achiev es unif ormity in its global policies and serv ices while also handling logistics f or the f irms approximately 30
U.S. of f ices.
Robert Bratt earned a Bachelors degree in Accounting f rom Towson Univ ersity in Mary land bef ore he joined the DOJ in 1978. During his f irst eight y ears with the
f ederal department, he serv ed in a number of senior positions, including Assistant Director of the DOJs budget and f inance staf f s. In 1986, he receiv ed a
promotion to Executiv e Of f icer of the Civ il Rights Div ision, the institution responsible f or enf orcing f ederal anti-discrimination laws, such as the Civ il Rights
Acts. In this role, he helped create and manage a new of f ice f ounded to implement the Civ il Liberties Act of 1988. In 1992, Bob Bratt accepted the position of
Executiv e Of f icer of the DOJs Criminal Div ision. He simultaneously serv ed in v arious related gov ernment roles, among them Executiv e Director of the Of f ice
of Naturalization Operations, U.S. Immigrations and Naturalization Serv ice, and Director of the International Criminal Inv estigativ e Training Assistance Program.
Bob Bratts tenure with the DOJs criminal unit was marked by notable improv ements in ov erall ef f iciency and the elimination of a structural budgetary def icit.
Prior to joining DLA Piper in 2010, Robert Bratt serv ed as the Corporate Vice President at the Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) and as a
Managing Partner of the Unisy s Corporations Civ ilian and Homeland Security practice group.
