The purpose of life in Islam

And I have not created the Jinn and mankind but that they should worship
Me.

Every one of us thinks and asks this question that What is the purpose of this life? Is the
purpose of this life is only to have enjoyment in this life. Many of us say that this life consists of
two days so have fun. We the Muslims have forgotten the lesson of Islam. Allah has told clearly
that He created every mankind and Jinn for the worship.

Allah has created us not for eating. He sent us for the earning. This world is the place for earning
and the Jannat is the place of eating. Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) is that personality for whom
Allah has created this whole universe. What we will do in this world we will get the same
reward. The primary goal of our lives is to worship Allah Almighty whole heartedly. Worship is
not only this that we have to offer Namaz and Roza. First of all the realization is very much
important. Our purpose of this life is to recognize, the actual Creator, for being grateful to Him,
to worship our creator, to surrender ourselves to Him and obey the actual laws that He has
determined for us.

The holy Quran has said that every human being is sent to realize the God:-

And when Your Lord took from the loins of Adam's children their offspring and made them
testify concerning themselves, Am I not your Lord? They replied, yes. We do testify, lest you
should say on the Day of J udgment, We were completely in dark over this.

According to Islam the only purpose of the life of mankind is to worship Allah. Allah has sent
many prophets to every nation who told about the worship of God and to avoid the false hood.

Indeed, we raised a Messenger in every nation (with the proclamation) that, Worship Allah
alone and shun the Taught. Then, among them there were some whom Allah guided, while
there were others among them, for whom error became inevitable. Go about therefore, in the
land and see what was the end of those who cried lies.

What is Worship in Islam actually?

In Islam the actual meaning of worship is to be obedient toward Allah Almighty and His will.
As in Quran it is said that:-

And to Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, and all are devotedly obedient
to Him.

It is another matter that some of them are not rewarded for their submission because no will
involves for it. For the worship there is need to recognize the creator to whom we will return one
day. After recognizing there is need to know the ways of worship. Quran and Beloved prophet
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has told about the worship and the ways of worship. The real
purpose of this life is to prepare your selves for the next world. This world is not the place to stay
here permanently. After this life there is another life which will be permanent. Our duty is to
prepare ourselves for the next world. We should prepare ourselves for the Day of Judgment. On
that day no matter will be left without rewarding and punishing. At that day we will feel shame if
we will not prepare ourselves according to the will of God. So we should recognize our purpose
of life and should live our lives according to this Purpose. May God give us the realization of our
purpose and give us strength to live the life according to the will of Him (Amen).
