INNOVATION:
Honda has always believed in giving more excitement and more joy. Be it designing high
performance sports cars that are a pleasure to behold and a joy to drive or creating the world's
first humanoid robot to walk on two legs or countless other technologies that astonish and
delight, Honda's spirit of exploration frequently invents the future. Not surprisingly, millions of
people worldwide often respond to Honda's spirit of innovation with a sense of delight and
amazement. Honda's obsession for technology that continuously improves upon the performance
and safety of all Honda vehicles is what sets it apart from other names in the car industry.
ENVIRONMENT:
Honda has established a global environmental slogan as an expression of the companys proactive
commitment to make progress in its environmental efforts on a global basis. With this slogan, Honda
will strive to become the leader in the area of environmental and energy technologies.
The new global environmental slogan and symbol will be used with Hondas internal and external
environmental activities and communications around the world. - "Blue Skies for Our Children."
Honda Environmental Vision:
Realizing the Joy and Freedom of Mobility and a Sustainable Society where People Can
Enjoy Life
Global Environmental Slogan:
Blue Skies for Our Children
Honda engineers who took on the challenge to meet the stringent new emissions standards of the
1970s U.S. Clean Air Act, used the phrase blue skies for our children as a passionate rallying
cry to devote themselves to this effort. Honda wants to pass on the joy and freedom of mobility
to the next generation (for our children), therefore, we want to realize a sustainable society
where people can enjoy life (blue skies). This slogan continues to represent Hondas passion
toward its environmental commitment which has not wavered and will remain resolute in the
future.
Global Environmental Symbol

The circular graphic represents the earth and sun with blue skies (clean air), clean water, and lush
green land expressing the bounty of nature that is necessary for us to realize a sustainable society
where people can enjoy life. The white line through the middle represents a road where freedom
of mobility is realized, while the heart represents Hondas thinking and passion toward our
environmental commitment.
SAFETY:
Realization of safe coexistence of people and mobility
Hondas quest for safety is not limited to the needs of car drivers and motorcycle riders. Hondas
total commitment to Safety for Everyone extends to passengers, pedestrians, occupants of
other vehicles, and everyone on the road. Honda will continue to develop and refine its
innovative technologies to realize a safer society.
Striving to achieve Safety for Everyone
Seeking to manufacture cars that enhance safety, Honda has been working to enhance active
safety and collision safety to help reduce human injuries. In the area of collision safety, in 1998
Honda announced proprietary G-force Control technology (G-CON), which controls impact (G)
forces in collisions to help reduce injuries to people. In 2000, Honda opened the worlds first
indoor omni-directional crash test safety facility. Through testing and analysis of real-world
accident scenarios, Honda invented Advanced Compatibility EngineeringTM (ACETM) body
technology, providing enhanced G-CON safeguards and improved self-protective capabilities to
better shield occupants of both vehicles in car-to-car collisions. Honda also created technology to
raise the vehicle hood in car-to-pedestrian collisions, helping to lessen the potential for
pedestrian head injuries. In the area of active safety, in 2003 Honda devised the Collision
Mitigation Braking SystemTM (CMBSTM), which can anticipate and help reduce the likelihood
of a collision with the rear of another vehicle, as well as seatbelt E-pretensioners. In 2004, Honda
developed the worlds first Intelligent Night Vision System, which uses a far-infrared camera to
detect pedestrians on nighttime roads and then alerts the driver. Honda will continue its efforts to
create technology and equipment for both active and collision safety measures, helping to ensure
the wellbeing of all people on roadways.
Worlds first driver-side i-SRS airbag system with continuously staged
inflation
In September 2008, Honda developed the worlds first driver-side i-SRS airbag system with a
continuously-staged inflation function that accommodates a wider range of driver seating
positions and types of collisions.* It features spiral-shaped seams and a gas release control valve
designed for optimal control of an airbags internal pressure to achieve prompt and low-impact
deployment with continuously-staged inflation, making it possible to sustain protection for a
longer period of time.

Honda hikes car prices by up to Rs 10,000
The prices have been hiked to offset the cost of on board diagnostic compliance changes
(OBDC).
As we stepped into the new financial year yesterday, it was only a matter of time before
automakers started announcing price hikes across its portfolio in the country to exercise the
changes that were made in the recently concluded Union Budget 2013-14. After Hyundai, who
hiked car prices across its entire model range by up to Rs 2,830, it is now the Japanese
automaker, Honda who has announced a price hike of up to Rs 10,000 across its entire portfolio
in India.
The reason for price hike is of course, to offset the cost of on board diagnostic compliance
changes (OBDC). The price hike has been put into effect from 1 April 2013.
Following the revised prices, the Honda Brio has become dearer by Rs 2,000 from the existing
price of Rs 4.10 lakh, while the Automatic variant of the Brio hatchback will now retail for an
additional Rs 10,000 from the current price of Rs 5.74 lakh.
The company's City sedan will cost Rs 3,000 more. It is currently priced at Rs 7.26 lakh.
Similarly, the premium sedan Accord will be dearer by Rs 5,000 from the current price of Rs
20.30 lakh.
The sports utility vehicle CR-V will be costlier by Rs 1,000. CR-V is at present available
between Rs 20.43 lakh and Rs 22.94 lakh. (All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
HMIL vice president, sales and marketing, Rakesh Srivastava said, "The price increase was
necessitated due to on board diagnostic compliance changes. We have tried to absorb the
maximum cost to minimise the price increase to cause less inconvenience to our valued
customers.'
Honda Continues To Harness Renewable Energy at its Manufacturing Sites
Around the World
January 21, 2014 - Honda Manufacturing of America Inc., has announced two newly installed
wind turbines at its plant in Russells Point Ohio are now operational.

Honda continues to harness renewable energy at its manufacturing sites around the world
The installation of the turbines, in agreement with a subsidiary of ConEdison Solutions of
Valhalla, NY, means the plant is the first major automotive manufacturing facility in the United
States to obtain a substantial amount of its electricity directly from wind turbines located on its
property.
The turbines will produce 10,000 megawatt hours (MWh) per year which equates to
approximately 10% of the plants overall electricity consumption.
These turbines are a step toward Hondas voluntary goal to reduce the environmental impact of
its products and manufacturing operations around the world, by 2020. The goal includes a 30%
reduction in CO
2
emissions from Honda products, and significant CO
2
reductions from the
companys plants and other operations, compared with 2000 levels.
Another example of Hondas commitment to CO
2
reduction through the investment in wind
power is the construction of a new automobile production plant and wind farm in Brazil, which
is due to become operational in late 2014. The wind farm is expected to generate electricity
equivalent to Hondas current annual electricity consumption for automobile production in Brazil
(approximately 95,000 MWh).
Low Carbon Manufacturing Around the World
Honda strives to introduce low carbon manufacturing solutions across all of its plants, the best
example of this is the sophisticated new automobile production plant in Yorii, Japan. Opened in
July 2013 the plant has established many new technologies enabling the production of
environmentally responsible products and the development of low carbon manufacturing. Yorii
plant features 2.6MW of solar panels which is the most of any automotive factory in Japan and
will reduce CO
2
emissions by approximately 1,200 tonnes per year.
Hondas European manufacturing plants are also working towards reducing CO
2
emissions. Both
Honda of the U.K. Manufacturing (HUM) and Honda Turkiye (HTR) automobile production
plants utilise solar power to this end.
In October 2011, HUM introduced renewable energy from a 5 megawatt peak (MWp) solar-array
consisting of more than 21,000 ground mounted panels covering an area of 32 acres. The
installation generates 4.5 gigawatt hours (GWh) of renewable energy, equating to 4.4% of the
sites total electricity requirement for the year. In the first year of operation it delivered
considerable cost savings compared to buying grid supplied energy and reduced CO
2
emissions
by almost 2000 tonnes.
Similarly, HTR has been successfully using solar power in its operations, recently installing solar
panels and invertors on site. To date the site has generated 124,000 kilowatt hours (KWh) per
year of renewable energy, resulting in a CO
2
reduction of 54 tonnes.

Honda Releases 3D Data of its Concept Models
TOKYO, Japan, January 28, 2014 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. released three-dimensional (3D) data
for exterior designs of concept models Honda has introduced in the past. The data is offered
based on version 4.0 of Creative Commons* licenses, a new set of copyright licensing standards
for the Internet age. With the data downloaded from the website "Honda 3D Design Archives,"
Honda's concept models can easily be replicated by a household 3D printer, which is becoming
more popular in recent years. By offering data of its concept models, which embody the spirit of
"Honda Design," Honda offers opportunity to enjoy a simulated experience of Honda's "art of
manufacturing."

Replicating by 3D Printer (image photo)
Honda is currently promoting a new global branding project under which Honda's unique
approaches and thoughts toward the "art of manufacturing" appeal to a wide range of people.
Following the release of a Honda brand commercial film titled "Super ultra daydreams," which
debuted at the start of Honda's press conference at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, the release
of the 3D data through the "Honda 3D Design Archives" will be the second initiative under this
project.
Due to the latest technological innovations and the introduction of affordable household 3D
printers, the "art of manufacturing" in society is experiencing fundamental change. Against the
backdrop of such change, Honda designed this project in an effort to identify new ways of
communication beyond the conventional framework between a manufacturer and its users.
Honda is hoping to see the emergence of outstanding future automobile designers and engineers
from the users who are inspired by this project.
