WORKSHOP TOPICS
1) What is an e-sheet?

An E-Sheet is a simple technology integration strategy that directs student research on the Internet.

The following information provides suggested criteria, but the e-sheet is very flexible in order to meet
your teaching needs. Do not feel that you must follow this information precisely. Be creative!
An E-Sheet consists of 2 parts:
1) One to three websites selected by the teacher-Basic/More than three websites-Advanced
2) A set of questions designed by the teacher to guide the student through the information on the
selected websites
Questions can be designed to address higher order thinking skills or normal information gathering.
Students are able to practice reading comprehension and information literacy skills as they are guided
through the content of the selected websites.
E-Sheets can be distributed as printed worksheets, as web sites, or as a document template in which
students type the answers.

E-Sheets are often referred to as electronic worksheets, web worksheets, or interactive worksheets.

2) Where can I find examples of e-sheets?

Elementary: Laurie Fowlers E-Sheet Site: http://www.lauriefowler.com/esheet.html
Secondary: Summer 2006 Workshop: www.bama.ua.edu/~rmayben/tim/esheetsummer.htm (Scroll)
Mike Bissell has an excellent site as well. Check the Tuscaloosa City Magnet School site when it
becomes available.
