Tunnel construction is one of the most interesting and also one of the most difficult engineering tasks in civil engineering.
Concrete in tunnel construction must fulfil stringent demands in terms of strength, durability and impermeability to water.
Invariably joints are necessary and must, despite high loads, be able to ensure the structure is permanently watertight. Injection
works are indispensable in order to construct a defect free object. This is due to the fact that the building process takes place
in a hard to predict interaction of design, mountain and water.
MC-Injekt 2700stops pressurized water reliably during the construction of the start shaft and simultaneously stabilizes the soil.
Sealing the contact area of a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) between shaft and subsoil can be ensured by building a sealing
ring with MC-Injekt GL-95. This also saves time and money if the downtime of the TBM is minimized. MC-Injekt 2300 top is used
for concrete, when the ingress of water and pollutants must be prevented permanently. The special hydro-structural resin
MC-Injekt GL-95 TXis a proven technology in retro sealing of voids, cracks and joints in structures, concrete segments or in-situ
elements. The flexibility and swelling properties meet the highest demands in terms of penetration and permanent sealing
requirements.

Whether made from pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, compressed concrete, natural stone or masonry, bridges are an
important part of infrastructure. Increasing traffic volumes, higher axle load limits and aggressive environmental stresses put
heavy operational demands on the structure. The protection and reinforcement of bridges are therefore important tasks for which
injection systems provide innovative solutions.
Force transmitting injection works on load bearing components made from pre-stressed and reinforced concrete under both
tension and compression, can be executed safely using MC-Injekt 1264 TF. The low-viscose duromer resin reaches the injection
target even when under the influence of dynamic loading. Static cracks and larger cavities are injected with Centricrete UF.
This suspension has the typical properties associated with cement based products and is particularly suitable for reinforced
concrete and brickwork. For an elastic sealing of cracks, joints or cavities to restore functionality and durability MC-Injekt 2300 top
is used. The re-establishment of water tightness can be solved optimally using this elastomer resin. Dampness and water
seepage over wide areas of old bridges made of masonry or newer structures made of concrete can be sealed effectively with
MC-Injekt GL-95. Waterproofing of the structure can also be performed by injecting of the surrounding subsoil.

Roads
Roads, runways and other traffic surfaces experience high dynamic loads and chemical stress such as petrol, oil, or de-icing
chemicals etc. Concrete surfaces can only withstand such high stresses if the permissible crack widths and joint distances are
adhered to. Individual concrete plates have to be in an even and stable state in order to transfer the rolling loads into the subsoil.
Force transmitting and sealing injection works on load-bearing components made from pre-stressed and reinforced
concrete under both tension and compression, can be executed safely using MC-Injekt 1264 TF. Dowel bars, shear connectors
and similar ancillary elements can be permanently bonded to the concrete. A particular advantage of this duromer resin is its
performance even under dynamic cycling. For an elastic sealing of cracks or cavities to protect against ingress of pollutants
MC-Injekt 2300 top is used. For the injection of voids and static cracks in concrete the mineral suspension Centricrete UF is ideal
as it strengthens the concrete. Slabs on an unstable foundation can quickly be stabilized with MC-Injekt 2700in that the substrate
can be transformed into a firm, load bearing structure. It can also be used for levelling of the not equally settled concrete slabs.

Hydraulic Engineering
Hydraulic structures are important for shipping, energy production and the regulation of ecological water balance. They are of
great significance to the population, industry and the environment. The materials used in these structures, concrete or masonry
must meet special requirements in terms of stability and water impermeability. Protection, reinforcement and sealing of such
structures are thus important tasks for which injection systems offer innovative solutions.
MC-Injekt 2700 stops strong water ingress during the manufacture and use of hydraulic structures reliably. At the same
time MC-Injekt 2700 ensures the stabilization of the subsoil. If cracks and voids are present in the construction material
MC-Injekt 2300 topis used to prevent penetration. To prevent water ingress under pressure MC-Injekt 2300 topis used in conjunc-
tion with the foaming elastomer MC-Injekt 2033. For sealing of expansion joints the hydro-structural resin MC-Injekt GL-95 TXhas
proven on projects around the world to be effective. A rapid and controllable reaction time plus excellent injection properties form
the basis of this effectiveness. All above named products are non toxic, non hazardous and are certified as being suitable for use
in contact with potable and ground water.

Drinking Water Structures
Drinking water, our most valuable resource, must be protected from contamination during treatment, transportation and
storage. In addition to the lining of facilities, pipelines and tanks, the basic structure of these buildings, must also meet the
functional requirements to be safe, stable and waterproof.
Classical tasks of concrete injection in terms of sealing are achieved safely with the powerful elastomer resin MC-Injekt 2300 top.
The injection parameters of this resin are excellent. The highly elastic reactive resin has been certified for use in contact with
drinking water. MC-Injekt GL-95 is an equally suitable injection system for drinking water, groundwater and soil. It therefore
provides the solution for hygienically and technically safe two dimensional external waterproofing. In exceptional cases where
the foundation has become unstable due to flowing water or ground settlement, MC-Injekt 2700 offers a quick and permanent
solution. This sealing, and at the same time reinforcing resin, also meets the high demands that are required from repair systems
used in areas which come in contact with drinking water, groundwater or the soil.

Wastewater Treatment Plants
Long service life, under conditions of high mechanical and chemical loads, is a requirement for structures in the waste water
sector. This requirement can only be fulfilled with regular maintenance and repair activities. Doing so, the high physical and
chemical loading of the construction parts and repair products have to be taken into account.
Classical tasks of concrete injection in terms of sealing are achieved safely with the powerful elastomer resin MC-Injekt 2300 top.
The injection parameters of this resin are convincing. The highly elastic reaction resin has the chemical resistance needed in
typical waste water environments. For injection of brickwork structures MC-Injekt GL-95offers an interesting alternative. Even
the finest capillaries can be sealed with this particularly low viscose hydro-structural resin. In the exceptional case that the
foundation has become unstable, MC-Injekt 2700offers a quick and durable solution. This duromer resin seals and strengthens
at the same time. All these injection systems fulfil the requirements for injection products that cure in contact with groundwater
and subsoil.

Commercial Properties
Property is a long term investment. Properties also represent a status symbol for their occupants. A visitors first impression is
likely to influence how they feel about their business partner or host. This impression is often formed when the visitor is in the
parking area. Damp walls, cracked ceilings and unstable floors generate negative impressions. The causes for such unsightly
appearances can often be eliminated by using injection systems.
Force transmitting injection works on load bearing components made from pre-stressed and reinforced concrete under both,
tension and compression, can be executed safely using MC-Injekt 1264 TF. As a result, the stability and durability of structures is
restored. If water is negatively affecting the durability and functionality of structures, MC-Injekt 2300 top is used to prevent
pollutants from infiltrating the reinforced concrete. MC-Injekt GL-95 TX can be used for subsequent sealing of leaking joints
whereas MC Injekt GL-95is used to eliminate moisture penetration of surfaces. A foundation with insufficient bearing capacity
can be stabilized using MC-Injekt 2700. In case of fine grained subsoil which is injectable only with materials of low, water like
viscosity, MC-Injekt TS-07 can extend the field of application of MC-Injekt 2700. MC-Injekt TS-07 can also be used in order to
increase the load bearing capacity of masonry structures.

Industrial Structures
Our Solutions:
Industrial buildings are planned and built for intensive use. Such buildings must meet various requirements as a protective
and supporting construction. Floor areas are subjected to the highest stresses. Cracks and voids are here, as in the whole
construction, not acceptable. If they occur, a remedy must be found quickly, safely and without interfering with the ongoing
production. Injection technologies are an efficient remedy for this task.
Force transmitting and sealing injection works on load bearing components made from pre-stressed and reinforced
concrete under both tension and compression, can be executed using MC-Injekt 1264 TF. The low viscose duromer cures even
under the influence of dynamic loading. Furthermore, steel components can also be fixed to the concrete using this resin.
Centricrete UF is suitable for the injection of cracks and voids in concrete which are under compression. Mineral suspension
strengthens the structural concrete. Loose slabs on unstable soil can be stabilized again by forming the subsoil into a solid, high
load bearing construction ground. This particular performance is provided by MC-Inject 2700. When other injection products
have reached their limits, fine grained soil of a poor injectability can be strengthened using MC-Inject TS-07.
Objectives:
I Force transmitting filling of cracks and cavities in
load bearing construction parts such as columns,
beams and slabs
I Sealing of cracks, joints and cavities in external
components against water penetration
I Bonding of dowel bars in transverse joints
I Stabilize load bearing subsoil and levelling of floor panels
Page 12
Building Pits and
Foundations
Our Solutions:
Tight building pits create working space for the construction of structures in water and soil. Sudden water ingress into these
areas requires immediate action to prevent delays to the progress of the project and avoid expensive dewatering. Other
consequences such as settlement of the surrounding ground or adjacent structures can also be avoided or at least minimised.
Ground movement or changing groundwater levels frequently lead to cracks and water damage in existing buildings. In these
cases an injection technique tailored to the individual project provides the right solution.
Bored pile walls, diaphragm walls, slotted walls and secant piles are the main areas of application for injection technologies in
respect of strengthening and sealing. Particular solutions using special injection resins has to be tailored individually according
to the specific conditions at different sites. The product system MC-Injekt 2700is an adjustable system which can fulfil a variety
of different requirements. Through the use of additives MC-KAT 27, MC-Additiv ST and MC-Additiv FS, the resin can be optimized
to the given task. The diversity of possible modifications enables you to simultaneously seal and strengthen subsoil, building pits
and structures using just one system. Fine grained subsoil which is not injectable using other injection materials can still be
strengthened using MC-Injekt TS-07.

Sealing Injection
MC-Injekt 2300 top
The very low viscosity of MC-Injekt 2300 top allows a deep
injection into very fine cracks, construction joints and cavities.
Optimized processing parameters (mixing ratio, reactivity)
support the successful execution of the injection works.
Also the final properties such as high elasticity within a wide
temperature range, certificate for use in contact with drinking
water and REACH evaluation provide additional safety.

MC-Injekt 2300 top consists of two components. To mix the
resin for application using a one component pump the hard-
ener (Part B) is added to the base (Part A) and they are mixed
to a streak free homogeneous condition.
Suitable mixing devices are a paddle and slow speed (max
200 rpm) mixing tools. The mixed resin is poured into the
reservoir of the MC-I 510 injection pump and again mixed
briefly.
When applied using the MC-I 700 preliminary mixing is un-
necessary. The individual components are directly sucked in
by the two component pump and are automatically mixed in
the mixing head. Consider mixer type and length in the data
sheet for the MC-I 700!
MC-Injekt 2300 top is injected with the injection pump
MC-I 510 or MC-I 700. Depending on the type of pump, a com-
pressor of sufficient capacity should be provided.
For suitable packer selection, humidity and thickness of the
component are crucial. Most common elastomer resins are
injected by bore packers as these can also be used in water
bearing cracks or voids. MC-Injektionspacker are packers
which are braced in bore channels with 14 mm diameter. The
bore channels are generally alternately drilled at an angle to
the crack, so that the crack is crossed (see page 38/39).
Cavity injections require the component specific placement
of the packers in the grid scheme.
Surface sealing is generally not required for injections using
bore packers. The exceptions are when applying to very thin
elements or very wide cracks. In such cases MC-Fastpack
PU solid is a convenient sealing material. The preconditions
are largely dry component surfaces. On wet surfaces the
rapid setting mortar MC-Fix ST can be used. Against high
injection pressure MC-Fix ST has limited loadability.
Unforeseen leaks may occur on almost any site. Rapid
setting mortars such as MC-Fix ST may be used to seal these
quickly.
Tools and machines can be cleaned with special cleaning
agents. For polyurethane based elastomer resins MC-Verdn-
nung PU is available.
Once the injection material has hardened, all packers are
removed; injection holes are sealed with mortars and sealing
material is removed with a hammer and chisel.
When working with reactive resins and high pressure pumps,
the appropriate safety precautions must be taken. The
instructions in the safety data sheets and/or the instruction
manuals must be followed.
Taking the product specific properties into account, as an
alternative MC-Injekt 2300 flow or MC-Injekt 2300 can be
used.
When application is onto a dry and solid substrate,
MC-Klebepacker may be used for injection. Adhesion
packers are fixed directly onto the crack. The spacing
between the packers should be approximately equal to
the thickness of the element to be injected. The remaining
crack length between the packers is sealed (see page 38/39).
Alternatively to the high pressure injection MC-Fastpack 2300
top may be injected over MC-Hammerpacker LP 12 or
MC-Surfacepacker LP (on dry parts) by the MC-Fastpack

Sealing Injection against Pressurised Water
MC-Injekt 2300 top/
MC-Injekt 2033
The high foaming factor of MC-Injekt 2033 makes its use very
economical. Pressurised water is stopped quickly.
The very low viscosity of MC-Injekt 2300 top enables a secure
permanent injection of the pre-injected areas by the elasto-
mer foam. Nevertheless, the inevitable pre-injection of the
elastomer foam has to be limited only to the application area
of pressurised and strong flowing water.
For cavity injection in construction parts the use of
MC-Injekt 2033 should be avoided. Otherwise the important
permeability of cavities for the successful permanent sealing
will be limited.

sufficient capacity should be provided.
MC-Inject 2033 is only injected to stop the water flow. This
work should be interrupted at intervals (approx. 1 min) to give
the foam time for reaction. Afterwards the final sealing is
done with MC-Injekt 2300 top.
Against pressurised water elastomer resins are injected by
bore packers. MC-Injektionspacker are packers, which are
braced in bore channels with 14 mm diameter. The bore chan-
nels are generally alternately drilled at an angle to the crack,
so that the crack is crossed (see page 38/39).
After injection of the elastomer foam MC-Injekt 2033 glued
packers have to be exchanged or the creation of new drill
holes for the injection of MC-Injekt 2300 top may be required.
Non functional Packers have to be exchanged, if necessary

For the suitable packer selection, humidity and thickness of
the component are crucial. Frequently duromer resins are
injected via adhesion packers because usually dry crack
edges are required for the injection resin. Under these con-
ditions, the use of adhesion packers is economical. For
injection with MC-Klebepacker it is necessary to prepare the
concrete surface along the crack. The substrate must be dry
and stable. Adhesion packers are applied directly onto the
crack. The remaining crack length between the packers is

MC-Fastpack PU solid is particularly suitable as adhesive and

Centricrete UF consists of the powder component Centricrete
UF and the liquid, Centricrete Additiv.
To mixthe suspension the liquid component is poured into the
mixer with water and the powder component is slowly added
while mixing. After mixing for about 10 minutes at the appro-
priate mixing speed the cement suspension becomes homo-
geneous and is ready for use.
Suitable mixers are, colloidal mixers with high shear energy.
The mixed suspension is transferred to the hopper of the
MC-I 910 injection pump and is mixed continuously.
Centricrete UF is injected with the injection pump MC-I 910.
A compressor of sufficient capacity should be provided.
The selection of a suitable packer depends on the moisture
content and the thickness of the element or structure to be
injected. Packers with strong pressure reducing check valves
(>5 bar) are not suitable. Most suitable are packers with large
vents, such as the MC-Schlagpacker or MC-Surfacepacker LP.
Mineral suspensions are frequently injected into cavities.
Here MC-Schlagpacker are preferred. MC-Schlagpacker are
bore packers with seven seals and are hammered into 18 mm
diameter holes. The holes are usually drilled at a defined angle
to the crack, so that the crack is crossed in the centre of the
structure. Cavity injections require spacing of the packers in a
grid pattern (see page 38/39).
Surface sealing is recommended when injecting cement
suspensions. MC-Fix ST is suitable for use as sealing mate-
rial. Against high injection pressure MC-Fix ST is only limited
loadable.
Unforeseen leaks during injection may occur on almost any
site. The rapid hardening material such as MC-Fix ST may be
used to seal these quickly.
Tools and machines may be cleanedwith water.
Once the injection material has harden, all packers are
removed and if necessary, injection holes are sealed with
mortar. Any excess, unnecessary or unsightly sealing mate-
rial is removed using a hammer and chisel.
When working with alkaline substances the appropriate
safety precautions should be taken. Please refer to the rele-
vant material safety data sheets.
When application is onto a dry and solid substrate,
MC-Surfacepacker LP may be used for injection. Adhesion
packers are fixed directly onto the crack. They must be
locked with a ball valve with a large pass through opening.
The spacing between the packers should be approximately
equal to the thickness of the element to be injected. The
remaining crack length between the packers is sealed (see
page 38/39).
Wider cracks or large cavities may be injected with Centri-
crete CS.

Due to its water like viscosity MC-Injekt TS-07 penetrates even
the finest pores. Substituting the air and the water in the media
it creates a dense and water tight structure.
After curing MC-Injekt TS-07 is viscoplastic rigid. Injected in a
porous media it forms a hard and durable filling material, which
increases the strength of the structure. Injected into loose soils
it forms a solid and strong compound with the soil particles.
The application time of MC-Injekt TS-07 can be controlled by
the adjustment of the concentration of the sub component A2.
In this way the pot life of the material can be tailored to
the specific site requirements which depend on temperature,

MC-Injekt TS-07 is a multi-component acrylic based resin. The
two injection components A and B are prepared from several
sub components on site.
The mixing of the injection components A and B must be
carried out in separate containers and separated by open
ground, so that neither subsets nor splashes can get in the
other component.
Component A is mixed from sub components A1 and A2. The
concentration of A2 in this mixture determines the products
reaction time. Component B is mixed from sub components B1
and B2, where the powder component B2 is dissolved in a
defined volume of water and then added to sub component B1.
Suitable mixing tools are mixing paddles made of wood, plastic
or non ferrous metals. The reactivity can be assessed by
mixing a small sample of material and measuring the time from
initial contact to gel formation. Due to the materials high reac-
tivity the sample size however must not exceed 100 ml.
The mixing of the reactive resin components is performed in
the mixing head of the injection pump.
MC-Injekt TS-07 is injected with the two component injection
pump, MC-I 700. A compressor of sufficient capacity should be
provided.
The injection is carried out through packers in structures or
lances in the structure or construction ground. In the case of
injection into the structure, we recommend MC-Schlagpacker.
Depending on the site specific conditions MC-Hammerpacker
LP 12 may be also used.
MC-Schlagpacker are hammered into 16 mm diameter holes.
MC-Hammerpacker LP 12 are hammered into 12 mm diameter
holes. The bore holes are drilled in a grid of about 200-400 mm
spacing (see page 38/39).
Surface sealing is usually not required as the fast reacting
resin quickly seals off any leakage.
Within the materials application time tools and machines may
be cleaned with water. Partially or fully reacted material can
only be removed mechanically.
After curing of the material, the packers can be removed and
the injection holes closed, e.g. with the rapid setting mortar
MC-Fix ST.
When working with reactive resins the appropriate safety
precautions should be taken. Please refer to the relevant
material safety data sheet.
For injections into flowing water usually the higher viscose
and fast reacting MC-Injekt 2700 is the ideal solution.
With MC-Injekt 2700 significantly higher strengths can be
achieved.
Without strength requirements the hydro-structural resins
MC-Injekt GL-95 and MC-Injekt GL-95 TX meet the sealing
tasks.

MC-Injekt GL-95 is particularly low viscose. It can close and
seal the finest flow path of water.
The soft elastic hydro-structural resin can withstand very
high levels of deformation without damage. After curing,
small damages can be sealed by the limited post swelling of
the hydro structural resin itself.
For the permanently constant function of MC-Injekt GL-95,
constant contact to water or dampness is necessary. This
is sufficient in order of the water content of subsoil or the
compensation moisture content of masonry.

MC-Injekt GL-95 is a multi component hydro-structural resin.
The two injection components A and B are prepared from
several sub components on site.
The mixing of the injection components A and B must be
carried out in separate containers and separated by open
ground, so that neither subsets nor splashes can get in the
other component. Component A is mixed from sub compo-
nents A1, A2 and A3, wherein the sub components A2 and
A3 are poured one after another in the container of the sub
component A1.
Sub component B is dissolved in water. The concentration of
the solution determines the reaction time which is dependent
on ambient temperatures. Using a curing trial the reactivity is
checked
Suitable mixing tools are mixing paddles made of wood,
plastic or non ferrous metals. The mixing of the reactive resin
components is performed in the mixing head of the injection
pump.
MC-Injekt GL-95 is injected with the two component injection
pump MC-I 700. Pay attention to the specified type and
number of mixing elements (see technical data sheet of
MC-I 700). A compressor of sufficient capacity should be pro-
vided.
The level of the individual components must be constantly
monitored, to ensure evenly constant material usage.
Injection is generally carried out through bore packers.
For masonry injections we recommend MC-Stahlpacker
18/300. These packers are placed into 18 mm diameter holes.
The drill holes and bore packers are distributed in a regular
grid pattern over the surface to be sealed. For injection into
structures a packer spacing of 200-400 mm is recommended.
In order to carry out a curtain injection in structure near
ground, special packers with equivalent length to the com-
ponent thickness are required. Depending on the perme-
ability of the subsoil the packers are usually placed at
400-800 mm spacing (see page 38/39).
Surface sealing is usually not required as the resin quickly
seals off any leakage. If necessary, the injection process may
be delayed or interrupted to allow time for the resin to seal
the leaks.
Tools and machines may be cleaned with water.
Once the injection material has cured, all packers are
removed and all drill holes are sealed component deep with
mortar.
When working with reactive resins and high pressure pumps
the appropriate safety precautions should be taken. Please
refer to the relevant material safety data sheets.
Taking the product specific properties into account, as an
alternative MC-Injekt GL-95 TX can be used. The polymer-
enhanced version of the MC-Injekt GL-95 has significantly
better characteristics for the sealing of joints and areas with
a high pressure gradient.
Significantly longer reaction times are offered by the
products MC-Injekt GL-95 TR and MC-Injekt GL-95 TX-TR. In
addition, all MC-Injekt GL resins can be set to longer reaction
times using the MC-Inject Retarder GL.

Due to the very low viscosity MC-Injekt GL-95 TX can be
injected both into large voids and fine porous media.
The polymer reinforced MC-Injekt GL-95 TX features an
extremely high degree of reversible deformability. It also has
excellent adhesion to concrete and a wide range of other
construction materials. This makes it the ideal product for
sealing joints and areas with high water pressure.
The polymer reinforcement makes MC-Injekt GL-95 TX less
prone to dilution in water than traditional hydro-structural
resins. Therefore this material is also the right choice for
injection into large waterlogged voids.
For the permanently constant function of MC-Injekt GL-95 TX,
constant contact to water or dampness is necessary. This is
sufficient in order of the water content of subsoil or the com-
pensation moisture content of masonry. Permanent contact
with air should be avoided
The reaction time of MC-Inject GL-95 TX can be controlled
manually by the starter concentration. Thus, the application
time of the material can be adjusted to the on site specific
conditions, such as temperature.

hydro-structural resin. The two components are prepared on
site from several sub components.
The mixing of the injection components A and B must be
carried out in separate containers and separated by open
ground, so that neither subsets nor splashes can get in the

Component A is mixed from sub-components A1, A2 and A3,
wherein the sub components A2 and A3 are poured one after
another in the container of the sub component A1 and are
mixed thoroughly using a non metallic stirrer.
Component B is prepared by dissolving sub component B in
sub component B1. The concentration of the solution deter-
mines the reaction time, which is also dependent on
temperature.
The reaction time can be assessed by mixing a small sample
of material (e.g. 200 ml) and measuring the time from initial
contact to gel formation.
Suitable mixing tools are wood, plastic or non ferrous metals.
Due to the resins short reaction time, the mixing of the reac-
tive resin components is performed in the mixing head of the
two component injection pump.
MC-Injekt GL-95 TX is injected with the two component
injection pump MC-I 700. Pay attention to the specified type
and number of mixing elements (see technical data sheet of
MC-I 700). A compressor of sufficient capacity should be

Injection is generally carried out through bore or hammer
packers. For masonry injections we recommend MC-Stahl-
packer 18/300. These packers are placed into 18 mm diameter
holes. The MC-Stahlpacker are hammered into 16-18 mm
diameter holes (see page 38/39).
Surface sealing is usually not required as the resin quickly
seals off any potential leakage. If necessary, the injection
process may be delayed or interrupted to allow time for the
resin to seal the leaks.
Within the materials application time tools and machines may
be cleaned with water. Partially or fully reacted material can
only be removed mechanically.
Once the injection material has cured, all packers are
removed and all drill holes are closed, e.g. with the rapid
setting mortar MC-Fix ST. The curred material is to protect
against dry-out. In joints, an air-side drying of the hydro-struc-
tural resin can be prevented by a joint filling material.
When working with reactive resins the appropriate safety
precautions should be taken. Please refer to the relevant
material safety data sheet.
High ambient temperatures can considerably accelerate the
hardening of the material. Significantly longer reaction times
are offered by MC-Inject GL-95 TX-TR.
All MC-Injekt GL resins can be set to longer reaction times
using the MC-Inject Retarder GL.
For flexible sealing injections of cracks and construction
joints in reinforced concrete, it is preferable to use the low

MC-Injekt 2700 consists of two components which after
mixing react in a short time to a visco elastic resin. Without
water contact it becomes a solid reaction product. Blended
with water it will create a solid foam.
Due to its short reaction time the mixing of the reactive resin
components is performed in the mixing head of the injection
pump.
MC-Injekt 2700 is injected with the two component injection
pump MC-I 700. Take note of mixer and mixing length in
the data sheet for the MC-I 700! A compressor of sufficient
capacity should be provided. This pump automatically takes
in both resin components. The end of the suction hoses must
be immersed completely inside the separate individual
components and must be fixed so that they cannot easily be
dislodged. The level of the individual components must be
constantly monitored, to ensure evenly constant material
usage.
Against pressurised water resins are injected through bore
packers. Depending on the situation on site, MC-Stahlpacker
18/300 with sufficiently large flow opening should be
selected. It is recommended to select an opening diameter
that corresponds roughly to the inside diameter of the injec-
tion pumps hose.
Surface sealing is of no use when injecting with bore
packers, if pressurised water is flowing through the crack.
Tools and machines may be cleaned using special cleaning
agents. MC-Verdnnung PU is available for polyurethane
based resins. When using solvents, the operating instructions
for the pump have to be observed. In particular, the resis-
tance of the seals to the solvents must be checked.
After curing of the injection material, detachable packers or
packer parts are removed or near surface separated and
remaining openings are sealed with mortar.
When working with reactive resins the appropriate safety
precautions should be taken. Please refer to the relevant
material safety data sheets.
Taking the product specific properties into account as an
alternative MC-Injekt 2700 L can be used. This type of resin
reacts slower compared with MC-Injekt 2700. With MC-Injekt
2700 L crack and cavity injections with MC-I 510 is possible.
For MC-Injekt 2700 special additives are available with which
the reaction can be accelerated, the formation of foam pre-
vented or tailored thixotropy adjusted.
MC-KAT 27is used to accelerate the reaction and MC-Additiv
STfor a faster, thixotropic set up. With both additives require-
ments for a fast, non-foaming reaction under water can be
achieved. The addition of MC-Additive FS in conjunction with
water results in a controlled, stable foam.
On site conditions may require high flow rates of the 2-com-
ponent injection pump.

*) Core samples should only be taken in exceptional cases and with a small diameter (50 mm)
**) Information on the component temperature is necessary in cases in which no conclusions may be drawn from the weather conditions
(e.g. road tunnels, etc.); the component temperature is the temperature measured in the depth of 3 cm
***) Recording of the moisture level either by inspection or laboratory methods
Crack Characteristics
Page 38
Attachment of adhesion packers on the component surface with
a spacing equal to the crack depth (with surface sealing)
Attachment of bore packer in boreholes at a spacing of half the crack
depth on alternate sides of the crack (usually without surface sealing).
The location of packers and the direction and depth of boreholes must be such as to allow a complete filling of the crack.
To guarantee a successful injection, the recommended dimensions should not be deviated from more than 10-15 %. For crack
depths that significantly exceed 30 cm (adhesive packer) respectively 60 cm (bore packers), adhesive packers where applicable
from opposing crack openings or bore packers in multiple rows have to be placed. Injection direction: from bottom to top.
Arrangement of Adhesion and Bore Packers for Crack Injection
Attachment of bore packers in drilled holes
(usually without surface sealing)
Damp areas are covered with a grid pattern of packers. The distance and depth of the drilled holes are according to the extent
and nature of the damaged area. For most situations the spacing is equal to A-sof the construction thickness and the depth should
be equal to S-e of the construction thickness.
In masonry structures the boreholes should be drilled at an angle to the mortar joint (approx. 3045), so as to cross as many joints
as possible.

Damp areas that require a curtain injection, to create an external water proofing membrane, are covered with a drill hole grid
pattern. The distance between the drill holes depends on the permeability of the subsoil. The drilling depth corresponds to the
thickness of the building element. The packers should seal the borehole at the end (with contact to the soil).
