Project N24 Cahir to Bansha and N24 Pallasgreen to Bansha, Budget EUR 133.000.000,-
Description Designer
As a part of a team designing a dual carriageway type 2, I have gone thru Constraints study and
Route Selection report for various options, to compare route options on air and noise quality,
archeological sites, and to make a whole design of preferred route and all minor roads that needs to
be realignment. I set up the traffic counters in Cahir area and organized a manual traffic counts in
order to get valid information for building a traffic model for existing roads and designed N24, also
preparing the drawings for eventual oral hearing of preferred route. I have gathered information for
cost – benefit analysis and input them in to the COBA software in order to get a cost - benefit ratio for
preferred route in preliminary design stage. I have also checked the capacity of all new designed
junctions thru PICADY software (Priority Intersection Capacity and Delay) which is used for predicting
capacities, queues and delays at major/minor priority junctions and ARCADY software (Assessment
of Roundabout Capacity and Delay) which is used for predicting capacities, queues and delays at
roundabouts and mini-roundabouts.
At the same time, I am working on preliminary and detailed design of a local road called Glen Road in
Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, in total length of 2km including the drainage design as well.
