RPT Sl 1st to cn and hold to back, k1, p1 from cn. Armhole shaping

Work as for left front armhole, reversing shaping by working dec’s at end of RS rows—43 (47, 49, 51) sts. Work even until 4 reps of chart 2 have been completed, then rep chart rows 1–4 only. Work even until armhole measures 5 (5≤, 6, 6≤)"/12.5 (14, 16.5, 18) cm, end with a WS row.

Next (dec) row (RS) K3, p4, k2tog, k1, k2tog, ssk, p4, sl m, k to end—40 (44, 46, 48) sts. Working remaining 12 sts of chart on WS as k4, p4, k4, and on RS as p4, k4, p4, work even until armhole measures 5≤ (6, 6≤, 7)"/14 (15, 16.5, 18)cm. Shape neck and shoulders as for left front, working neck dec’s at beg of RS rows and shoulder dec’s at beg of WS rows.

SLEEVES

With smaller needles, cast on 42 (42, 50, 50) sts. Work in k2, p2 rib for ≤"/1.5cm. Change to larger needles and cont in St st, inc 1 st each side every 6th row 8 (16, 12, 20) times, then every 8th row 9 (3, 6, 0) times—76 (80, 86, 90) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 20"/51cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Cap shaping

Next (dec) row (RS) K2, ssk, work to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2—74 (78, 84, 88) sts. Rep dec row every other row 4 (5, 3, 3) times more, then every row 0 (0, 5, 8) times—66 (68, 68, 66) sts. Bind off.

FINISHING

Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Neckband

With RS facing and smaller needles, pick up and knit 94 sts evenly around neck edge. Knit 7 rows. Next row (RS) K1, *(k1, yo, k1) in next st; rep from * to last st, k1—278 sts. Bind off.

Left front button band

With RS facing and smaller needles, beg at top of neckband, pick up and knit 102 (104, 106, 108) sts evenly along left front edge.

Work as for neckband—302 (308, 314, 320) sts. Bind off.

Right front buttonhole band

Place markers along right front edge for 5 buttons, the first one 7"/18cm from lower edge, the last one 1"/2.5cm from top edge and 3 others spaced evenly between. Pick up and work as for left front button band for 5 rows. Next row (RS) Knit to first marker, *yo, k2tog knit to next marker; rep from * 4 times more, knit to end. Knit 1 row. Complete as for other bands.

FLOWERS

Garter stitch flower

*With smaller needles, cast on 4 sts. Petal row 1 K1, M1, k to end—5 sts. Rows 2, 3 and 4 Rep row 1–8 sts. Cut yarn leaving 2"/5cm tail. Leave sts on needle. Make 4 more petals by casting on 4 sts to needle holding first petal. Do not cut yarn after 5th petal.

Join petals

Row 1 Knit across 40 sts. Row 2 *K2tog; rep from * to end—20 sts. Row 3 Rep row 2–10 sts. Row 4 [K2tog, k3tog] twice—4 sts. Cut yarn leaving 8"/20.5 tail. Thread tail through tap- estry needle and draw through 4 sts on needle. Pull tightly and secure. Sew together side edges of 1st and 5th petals. Weave in tails.

Center bobble

With smaller needles, cast on 1 st, leaving a 6"/15cm tail. Row 1 [K into front and back of st] twice, k1 in same st—5 sts. Rows 2, 4 and 6 Purl. Rows 3 and 5 Knit. Row 7 K2tog, k1, k2tog—3 sts. Row 8 P3tog—1 st. Fasten off. Attach to center of flower so that cast- on and bound-off edges meet.

Knit flower 1

With smaller needles, cast on 35 sts. Row 1 [K1, bind off next 6 sts] 5 times—10 sts. Cut yarn, leaving 8"/20.5 tail. Thread tail through tapestry needle and draw through 10 sts on needle. Pull tightly and secure by tacking first and last petal tog. Sew 2 silver beads to center of flower.

Knit flower 2

With smaller needles, cast on 6 sts. Bind off 5 sts and slip rem st back onto LH nee- dle, do not turn. *Cast on 5 sts, bind off 5 sts, slip rem st back onto LH needle, do not turn; rep from * 6 times more. Fasten off, leaving a 6"/ 15cm tail. Thread tail through tapestry nee- dle and run through straight edge of flower. Pull tightly and secure. Make 2 French knots in center of flower.

French knots

Bring threaded tapestry needle from WS of flower to the front; wrap yarn around nee- dle 3 times. Using thumb to hold the wraps on the nee- dle, insert needle close to the point where it came out, pulling needle through the wraps.

Knit flower 3

Make a slip knot and place on smaller nee- dle. *Cast on 10 sts, bind off 10 sts. Insert RH needle into first cast on stitch and knit it—2 sts on needle. Pass 2nd st over the 1st and slip rem st to LH needle. Do not turn. Rep from * 6 times more. Fasten off, leaving 8"/20.5cm tail. Thread tail through tapestry needle and run through straight edge of flower. Pull tightly and secure. Sew 3 crystal beads to center of flower. Using photo as reference, sew flow- ers to left front shoulder. Sew on buttons.
