Information
Course Description: The Intensive Review of Internal Medicine Course is designed to enhance internal medicine knowledge by
offering a comprehensive update in internal medicine & its subspecialties. It will consist of a case-based review of challenging clinical problems and
review of literature to guide evidence-based practice. This course can also serve to prepare attendees for the ABIM Board Examinations (Certification/
Recertification). and offers daily board review question and answer practice sessions in each subspecialty, as well as a special session on maintenance
of certification/practice exam. The program will also consist of daily case-based lectures & meet the professor luncheons covering the most important
topics in internal medicine. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on the practical application of physiological principals to the understand-
ing and management of clinical problems particularly for board exam preparation. A self-study DVD containing all general session lectures recorded
from this live activity will also be included as a reference for learners preparing for the board exams.

2 day course is to provide an in-depth update in internal medicine and its
subspecialties and meet the educational needs of the learners by incorporating a variety of formats with particular emphasis on didactic teaching to
prepare attendees for the ABIM Internal Medicine Board Examinations (making the learning directly relevant to comprehensive knowledge for
certification & recertification and current treatment/therapeutic strategies (updates on basic principles & changing guidelines) for patient care.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Apply current/recommended guidelines in clinical practice; Perform differential diagnosis of complex clinical presentations;
Describe pathophysiology as it applies to management of clinical problems; Review and interpret up-to-date literature relevant to clinical practice;
Apply knowledge gained to the ABIM certification/recertification examinations Identify/integrate current therapeutic options for specific disorders,
including end of life care;
