There are 30 questions in total. Questions 1 to 8 carry 1 mark each, questions 9 to 18
carries 2 marks each, questions 19 to 27 carries 3 marks each and questions 28 to 30
carries 5 marks each.
There is no overall choice. However an internal choice has been provided in one
question of 2 marks, one question of 3 marks and all three questions of 5 marks each.

at the same point O. What is the radius of curvature of the mirror?

(i) The amplitude of a modulating signal is kept less than the amplitude of carrier
wave.
(ii) For ground wave transmission, size of antenna should be comparable to wave

transmitted.

.Writ its expression for its magnifying power. Write on advantage of a reflecting type

Q29. Draw a schematic diagram of a step up transformer. Explain its working principle.
Assuming the transformer to be 100% efficient , obtain the relation for (i) the current in
the secondary in terms of the current in the primary ,and (ii) the number of turns in the
primary and secondary windings.
(b) Mention two important energy losses in actual transformers and state how these can
be minimized.

(a) What do you understand by sharpness of resonance in a series LCR circuit?
Describe and expression for Q-factor of the circuit.

(b) Three electrical circuits having A.C. sources of variable frequency are shown in the
figures. Initially the current flowing in each of these is same. If the frequency of the

applied a.c. source is increased, how will the current flowing in these circuit be
affected? Give reason for your answer.

connected across the output terminals parallel to the load resistor?

(a) Using necessary circuit diagram ,draw the transfer characteristics of a base-biased
transistor in CE configuration .With the help of these characteristics , explain briefly how
the transistor can be used as an amplifier.
(b) Why are NAND gates called universal gates? Identify the logic operations carried out by
the circuit given below .Write its truth table.
