Content Standard:
5.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to use different word classes correctly and appropriately.
5.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to construct various sentence types correctly.
Learning Standard:
5.1.1 Able to use verbs correctly and appropriately:
(b) simple present tense
5.2.1 Able to construct declarative sentences correctly
Objective: By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to:
i) Names 5 out of 8 verbs correctly.

ii) Construct 5 simple declarative sentences with guidance.

Sentence pattern: 1. Akim celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri. (Simple sentence)
2. Mei Lin wears a Cheongsam. (Simple sentence)
Grammar items: Verbs
Eg: celebrates, wears, walks to, eats
Vocabulary: Festivals (Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Christmas Eve, Deepavali)
Teaching aids: Flash cards (ketupat, mosque, Cheongsam, Baju Kurung, temple, saree, Christamas tree), slideshow of substitution
tables, pictures, projector.
